When it comes to Fred Thompson, the only way to describe Fox News Channel is -- un-fair and un-balanced. The Iowa caucus results had Fred Thompson and John McCain TIED for third place. Today Fox News with Brit Hume discussed the winners on each side, not one word, video clip, audio clip, ... nothing about Fred Thompson. It was as if he didn't exist, as if he were not even in Iowa, as if McCain was the only one in third place. Fox has been anti-Fred from the beginning.
Rush Limbaugh fans have been noticing and commenting on this un-fair and un-balanced action by Fox News and so have bloggers for Fred. Are they afraid of Fred? Is it because he won't play their games? Is it because he won't give them a 10 second sound bite?
Fred is sharing his POLICY plans with his followers. You can't get that in a 10 second bite. His 17 minute video was too much for the Fox News bunch to examine and share with their viewers. Do they think Americans have such short attention spans we cannot judge something SUBSTANTIAL? They are so wrong. I'm not the only one noticing how the media treats Fred.
Blogs for Fred and JosieQ's World
"The REAL tragedy of these primaries is that Fred Thompson has received virtually no press coverage. Why? Because he scares the mass media silly because they see the ghost of Ronald Regan. An actor, served in the government, name recognition (Law & Order, Die Hard 2, etc..) & STRONG conservative values. Remember what Terry Macloff (I think it was him) said about Fred Thompson? "I'll never underestimate a B rated actor ever again." How else does one explain it especially after all the coverage Fred Thompson received when he WASN'T even in the race? So the Media ignores him. I personally want to see conservatives NATION WIDE get behind Fred Thompson & get him front & center again whether the left-wing media likes it or not."
Stop the ACLU, "FOX News is frustrating me with their obvious poo poo on Fred, and rah rah for McLame."
Comment at Draft Fred Thompson, "If Fred does well, then the #1 obstacle to a very viable Thompson candidacy will have been overcome in spite of the MSM. "
SoCalPundit, "I’m going to ignore MSM pundits and polls and I’m not going to let MSM mold the 2008 election by saying “there’s only 2-3 VIABLE candidates and Sen Fred Thompson is not one of them.”
Other:
Daily Fred Fact from IMAO: "Like most Americans, Fred Thompson has no plans to ever set foot in Iowa ever again."
Bob McCarty says, "McCain is on record as saying he supports the work of an organization whose efforts oppose U.S. sovereignty."

Courtneyme109: Excellent points. He is too laid back even for me, and I'm a Southern gall too. A little shot of energy in his campaign would be very helpful. That "aw-shucks" routing will only go so far and then it becomes tiresome.
I do think he is the man for the job and I remember all the coments you mention about him.
His campaign needs to highlight some of those, put them into short soundbites for the media. Also he needs to get off the porch/rocker and MAKE some news. That way the media would be required to report it.

Devil's Advocate here. Not sure it's all about Faux or the Lame Stream Media. Example? When he told that chick in Iowa (the one with the awful slingbob hair style) that he wasn't into handraising - that could have been the start of a fiesty, scrappy act that along with the Senator's pitch would have been unstoppable. The 'no fire in the belly' does have a bit of truth to it. Everyone here in my neck of the woods in Hillbillyland were totally psyched for Thompson when he 1st announced - but since then it seems like he's just too ambling, rambling and gives that 'Yoboy - here we go again Paw Paw rocking on the front porch talking about the time Uncle Versie traded that old Dodge for one of them their Toy yoyo Pickem up trucks.'
So a lot of this is on Fred too. Also, when he starts coming in like #2 or #3 in some primaries then perhaps we'll see more of Fred. I like him and I have an emotional attachment to him because right after 911 MTV had him and Biden on like a 2 hour show. And they rocked! They really connected to a bunch of kids that were learning new scary words like Taliban, Al Qaeda, WMD, Ground Zero. They were optimistic - yes it would be hard, yes blood would be shed - but America was a noble nation - she would prevail and America was the only one of her kind - ever.
There are a lot of 1st time voters who might remember that if Fred would get back in the game. That video he had out before Iowa is a good sign.
It's not over yet - media wise - and Fred could get his fair share on Faux or anywhere else - but he's got to give them something over the top - and the signs are he's getting there. His joke about the cold snap made the national news and Americans will respond to his pitch. One of his best last year (and I haven't heard him say it since - remember I'm a neophyte here) - about the border was awesome. "Bottom line? This is our house. And we get to have a say in who comes in."

Seems that FOX has failed to live up to it's "fair and balanced", "we report, you decide" mantras. That's too bad; one would hope a conservative-oriented philosophy would do a better job of having words mean things, since we all know liberal ideologies can't and don't.

It's obvious to me that Fox News is in the pocket of John McCain. Specifically, Fred Barnes and Mort Kondracke just about pee and poop all over themselves anytime they get a chance to talk about him. If you hadn't noticed, just watch them closely next time.
Mort likes McCain because he likes anything bipartisan and moderate (barf gag). Fred likes him because he was for "comprehensive immigration reform" aka amnesty, among other things.
They really fear Thompson. Their silence of him attests to that fact.
