What a pile of crap!

What a big, slimy, stinking, pile of crap this is, and I'm sick of hearing it. Restore America's role in the world; improve America's image in the world' make nice with our friends and enemies, ... kiss butt, grovel, bend over, and submit. THAT my dear friends is what the Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, defeatists and hate-America crowd, and their media whores, want for YOU.
They sing sings like (thanks to Lew Rockwell)
"Why don’t we liberate these United StatesWe’re the ones who need it the worst
Let the rest of the world help us for a change
And let’s rebuild America first"
These strong words come from a new songwriter wishing for peace in Iraq. Well, actually calling him new is untruthful. These words are sung by none other than Merle Haggard in his recent release debuting in 2006.
The rest of the song continues with even more inspiring resolute lines,
"Freedom is stuck in reverseLet’s get out of Iraq and get back on track
And let’s rebuild America first"
These are the same folks that think eating meat is murder, or manslaughter or those who wonder which animal's meat yields less meat per unit of animal suffering. It's the people who still won't admit the surge is working in Iraq. Like the Democrats response to the State of the Union Speech by Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.
Sebelius was trying to sound like Barack Obama, talking about unity, bipartisanship, ending the rancor in DC, etc. ... Obama has the rare talent of making that kind of rhetoric sound soaring, (Washington Monthly)
That's what people are voting for, why they are getting behind Barack Obama -- he SOUNDS good. Because he talks a good game, wants to get along with everybody (except Israel), mend fences, with the world -- YET HE WOULD NOT EVEN GREET AND SHAKE HANDS WITH HILLARY CLINTON at the SOTU. They are the kind of people who think Mary Katherine Ham is the WORST PERSON they have to deal with.
This is just priceless.Ted Kennedy left a woman to die under a bridge, but his "ultimate betrayal" of women is supporting Obama over Hillary in a primary?
The hate-America crowd is also the hate-Israel crowd. They want the US and Israel to turn to 'the world' and let 'the world' TELL us how to handle problems and defend ourselves. I say shove it to that suggestion. So does Victor Davis Hanson:
So let the international community begin its humanitarian work!Greek Cypriots can advise Israel about concessions necessary to Muslims involving a divided Jerusalem. Russians and Syrians can advise the IDF on how to deal properly and humanely with Islamic terrorists. Poland, Russia, China, and Armenia might offer the proper blueprint for giving back land to the defeated that they once gained by force. A North Korea or Pakistan can offer Israel humanitarian lessons that might blunt criticisms that such a recently created country has no right to exist. Iraq and Egypt would lend insight about proper reparation and the rights of return, given its own successful solutions to the problems of their own fleeing Jewish communities.
But why limit the agenda to such a small array of issues? The world has much to teach Israel about humility and concessions, on issues ranging from how other countries in the past have dealt with missiles sent into their homeland, to cross-border incursions by bellicose neighbors.
No doubt, Middle East humanitarians such as Jimmy Carter, Arun Gandhi, and Tariq Ramadan could preside, drawing on and offering their collective past wisdom in solving such global problems to those of a lesser magnitude along the West Bank.
GrEaT sAtAn'S gIrLfRiEnD has a must read article, Cyber Media Blitz. Go read it all, but here's a sample:
The ex Navy Fly guy and Regime Changer Rumsfeld is absolutely correct in his latest idea championship that it's time to put the 'world' in
"...America ain't what s wrong with the world..." [snip]Totally flipping off any foreign concerns about Great Satan imposing alien ideas on hapless time traveling intolerants Ex Marine and supersmart guy Gary Anderson of GW University disses any reasoning of 'blowback' or publicising inner ethical wrestling matches
"A big part of the reason is that we spend too much time wanting to be liked rather than turning Muslim anger on our enemies. We preach some values that are viewed as alien and threatening to the traditional order of things. Our popular culture is seen as decadent at best and downright threatening at worst in traditional cultures.
We can't change what we are, nor would we want to. No matter how much the government may disapprove, the government's official propaganda will be overwhelmed by the deluge, both positive and negative, from the popular media. We need to accept this fact and move on, rather than waste more millions on strategic communications "charm campaigns."
The outcome of the US presidential election affects the lives of millions of people around the world ... European elites are also demanding the right to help choose the next occupant of the White House. Yeah, good luck with that.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we DO need to improve America's image in the world. Let's show everybody that America takes no crap from anybody. America will do whatever it takes to protect herself. America is strong, free, and proud. If America is so bad, why does everybody want to come here? I say if you don't like it here -- you know where the door is, leave.
Ironic: Al Gore is giving a global warming speech in CHINA.
Doctored photos again.
McCain's mixed bag of tricks
Then there's Other Crap

First, we should always protect our interests ahead of any other country. If by doing this we upset some people, so be it.
Second, we need to take a step back and look at where we are spending money around the world and ask ourselves wether we are getting the results we want. We need to pull wasted money and either use it back home or use it to spread democracy.
What's amazing is that we give money to nations that bash the USA and have large groups of constituents that hate us. That needs to be changed immediateley.

Thanks for the comments everybody. No, hubby is not back in the hospital. We had storms Tuesday night around 7:00, the power went out, didn't come back on until Wednesday morning.
Then I had to be out of town all day and didn't even turn the computer on until 11:00 Wednesday night.
Everything is fine here at the cabin at the river. Normal posting tomorrow, Thursday.

Uh-oh. What happened? The Grouch back in the hospital?
Something's wrong, you stopped posting again.
I hope it's nothing serious.

A Letter of Introduction from T. Herman Zweibel
By T. Herman Zweibel
Publisher Emeritus (photo circa 1911)
The Onion
January 21, 2008 | Issue 44•03
The school-educated busy-bodies who manage my media properties inform me that it is almost time to appoint a new President. I almost cannot believe it is time for the suet-brained populace of this flagging Republic to be once again herded into the voting-booths to allegedly choose precisely which bloody-handed butcher will crack their bones and suck the marrow over the next few years. Futility, I say, rank and base futility! Does the grist choose the mill, the rabbit the hawk, the innocent 12-year-old Atlantic City orphan girl the lusty mob of beefy, drunk, vacationing coal-oil sales-men? They do not, and neither do the Citizens choose their Leaders. However, if The Onion news-paper can further the illusion that an individual vote has more potential to change the world than a lamb's last bubbling bleat in a crowded slaughter-house—and furthermore, if we may turn a hand-some profit by doing so—than let The Onion be the Judas goat to the milling herd of democratic cattle!
I am told that our new War of the White House section will contain the vetted and censored life stories of each candidate; white-washed and simplified versions of their heinous plans to drain the life and wealth of each and every tax-payer; a schedule denoting the appearances of every aspirant, so that one may go and be covered in unspeakable fulminating lies in person instead of hearing them over the crystal-set. I should God damned well hope that there will also be prettily-colored pictures, or else the average American citizen will not be able to keep his eye on it for more than a few heart-beats, and it would be better yet if there were accompanying photos of ample heaving bosoms. Sadly, the man in the street becomes affronted whenever he feels his supposed dignity is being besmirched. Why is this? The man in the street is, for all his puffery, standing there in the God damned street!
In any case, there will also be a section on how our Democracy works, despite even the simplest boor suspecting in his secret heart of hearts that it is a sham. Which it is. I have not voted since becoming a wealthy industrialist, having figured out some time ago that it is much wiser to employ the organ grinder than vote for the monkey. Still, I hope this special section is of some amusement to all. I understand that one of the candidates is campaigning in a dress this year, and yet another in a minstrel's blackface, which I must say was unexpected; but as long as there are no Catholics on the ballot, I see no reason to summon the marksmen.
Now get back to work!

Well, I hope they end up eating their own crap. That is what they deserve for serving up such crappy lies.
It would be nice to be liked around the world, but at what cost? And that cost is not worth it to me.
These people are no character and integrity.

Debbie, great post. American Interests is right. All we are getting hit over the head with is the trash from the MSM. And that MSM is so unrepresentative of the rank and file citizens.
Posted by: Aurora | January 30, 2008 at 05:07 AM
Yes, we "DO need to improve America's image in the world." The Rumsfeld way, as suggested in Great Satan's Girlfriends terrific post. My concern is that progressive forces are getting louder, particularly so outside your borders… there needs to be an organized and concerted right voice shouting its message across all forms of mass media to counter the “crap” that you are referring to. For that is precisely what it is…

Merle Haggard has become a sucker. I can almost see him in the garden with Eve and eating whole thing in one gulp after Obama has a little talk with his recently acquired helpmate.

dang I dont think we need to worry bout our image Deb..let the MusNazis worry bout theirs !!:)

First let me congratulate you on your excellent taste in images. I could smell that one from here.
Now, to the subject. To violently paraphrase MLK, I have a friggin' nightmare!
Picture, if you will (dah dah de dum, dah dah de dum) election day, and the choices are McCain and Obama. Of course, we vote for McCain.
NOW. Picture this... (ghostly wailing sounds)... looking up at you from your ballot are the names McCain and Clinton! NOW what do you do?
If McCain gets the nomination, one of these two is going to happen. I honestly don't know which is the bitterer pill to swallow, McCain or Clinton.
I remind you once again of that old Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.
We sure are. Damn!

True...the green bottle flies would have added a touch of realism ;-)
'Restoring America in the world' in the eyes of progressives, is taking us back to Clintonlot, where the Oral Office and trysts in the Lincoln Bedroom were culturally posh, and setting us up for 9/11 was the order of the day. By all means, Merle, let's get that America back.
Paint the bullseye on your butt tho', Merle.
