What do the candidates have to say about that?
Some on the Left say, "It's time to end the race and gender baiting and get back to issues." I say let the Democrats bicker among themselves and let the Republicans get back to the issues. Admiral Mike Mullen wants to close the prison facility at Guantanimo because of its propaganda value to the enemy. I'd like to know what each of the candidates thinks about that.
On the issue of government health care, Michelle Malkin, Hotline, and Protein Wisdom took note that Chelsea Clinton finally decided to speak:
“(My mother) and Senator (John) Edwards are committed to universal healthcare,” she said. “Senator (Barack) Obama (D-Ill.) is committed to what we call ‘virtual’ universal healthcare which would make it an option for people to buy into the system. What my mother argues is that if you don’t mandate that everyone have healthcare, the healthy people may not buy into the system, which means that the average cost of insuring people is a lot higher.”
I'd like to know what the candidates think about the United States of America selling weapons to our enemy, a place where over half of the September 11, terrorists came from. Butch and Texas Fred have a few words about that.
... I submit to you, the Saudis are NOT our allies, they are not our friends, I fully believe that the Saudis are the very reason the attacks of 9-11 happened and this action is, in MY opinion, nothing less than giving aid, support and comfort to enemies of THIS nation, and that equates to nothing less than treason… (continue reading)
According to Rasmussen’s recent polling data, Fred Thompson is moving up in the polls.
Dennis Kucinich filed lawsuit to be included in the MSNBC Nevada debates -- and he WON!
The Democrats are inviting Independents and Republicans to 'BE A DEMOCRAT FOR A DAY' in Saturday's Nevada Caucus. Just Say No.
Now there's an Obama-Farrakhan Connection through his church. See Obama the Divider, watch the video, read the article.
In case you didn't know, Bill Kristol has been hired by the New York Times. That should be interesting.

great post, debbie. i guess, perhaps, ron paul should have sued to be included in the fox new hampshire debates - apparently nothing says "serious presidential candidate" like a court order to be included.
hmmm, isn't that a little bit like being able to go with your big sister (or brother) because your parents deemed it so???

Wow! Chelsea spoke. I wonder if she was strong armed into it by both her "stellar" heh-- parents.
Great post roundup of the views. I agree with Fred and Butch

Sounds like that admiral is planning a political career after retirement, unless he means just shutting down the prison for Taliban types. I spent a lot of time at Gitmo and for a sailor on liberty it's a great place to be.
Beyond that, it's an extensive Naval base in a prime strategic location.
Fred Thompson is looking better to me all the time. It is true that he's a sneaky bastard, but aren't they all? For that matter, will he do what he says if elected any more than any of the others ever did?
Our voting criteria are Party, Physical appearance, Positions on the issues that most concern us, Public speaking ability and lastly, Believability, in that order. At least for the thundering herd. The rest of us blog and dissect, blog and dissect.

As I see it, the Democratic candidates are just focusing on themselves instead of the issues. They will probably voice an opinion over the above issues, but only after the media prompts them to do so.

Great roundup of links, as usual, Debbie.
The Gitmo issue is so stupid. The opinions of the world are based on left media sources. Are we going to let the left dictate policy? Heaven help us. If we close down Gitmo, where are all those Jihadis going? Surely not into our prisons to create havoc and recruit others like they're doing in the U.K.

Listening to Clinton raise the 'race' issue -- then watching Clinton deny they raised it, what with Bill being the first "black" president -- is textbook SOP for the Clinton Attack Machine. Attack, lie, smear, lie, repeat. Socialism in all it's ugly phases revealed.

Admiral Mullen wanting to close down Gitmo is interesting. A case could be made that Gitmo should stay - especially as a signal PR wise to wannabe jihadis they could very well end up in the Great Satan's clutches. Or, a PR stunt to deploy a smokescreen to deprive America's enemies of a PR tool and knock the incorect nerf ball bat of 'torture' out of enemy hands.
Arming the Arabs may also be a move to disinvest from the area (save a brand new semi perm base called Iraq and shiny new bases in a soon to be NATO member Little Satan). The Arabs actually out gun Iran in real military power now.
Sweet indeed to see BillyK @ NYT. The guy is devastating to a certain polit parties Surge denial syndrome.
