Hezbollah and Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah promise WAR against Israel saying, "The clock on Israel's demise is ticking." Not that anyone doubts Hezbollah is nothing but a terrorist organization determined to kill Israelis and destroy the nation of Israel, they show their true colors today. Imad Moughniyah was killed with a car bomb in Damascus on Tuesday. Iran, Hezbollah, the Shi'ite Lebanese militia, and others accused Israel. Hezbullah stopped its regular programming, and a teary-eyed newscaster read the news, which was immediately followed by Koran verses – a format that is reserved for times of emergency and war with Israel.
Israel put its embassies and other interests abroad on high alert and reinforced troops on the Lebanese border on Thursday Israel admitted today that they may have had a hand in the death of Imad Mugniyah, something everyone suspected bur didn't know for sure. That was all that Hezbollah needed to declare imminent war on Israel. "If Israel wants open war, so be it." said Nasrallah.
Lebanon’s Druze leader, Walid Jumblatt, who is considered the best political litmus test in the country, lashed out at Nasrallah and his organization this week. “If you think that we shall stand still with our hands tied – you’re delusional,” Jumblatt said. “You want anarchy? We welcome it. You want war? We welcome it,” he added as his supporters cheered on. “There is no problem with weapons,” he added. [snip]“There is no doubt that the Mugniyah assassination is very painful for the organization in terms of morale, yet it is doubtful whether it changes anything in operational terms,” a Lebanese source told Ynet. Well, Hiz'B'Allah can't really do anything else except act out verbally. . Despite their BFF Bashar's new missiles (and the freshly arrested suspects) whoever knocked off Imad sent a very cool signal throughout Enemyland that there are no safe zones.
Their fiery rhetoric is awful lame. Anyone notice they stopped short of declaring war on America? That is significant.
If Hiz'B'Allah does act out in Europe or elsewhere it would be the begining of the end for them. HBA's main mission has been to pose as a 1st strike or fire and forget weapon.
Once that happens - there will be little concern for actionable intell, global litmus tests or restraint.
The question isn't really what WWHD? After witnessing what happened to the Taliban they may not want to trek down that path.

If this is the case, it shows how important this hit was. What did they expect? Israel to say, Oh we'd better not take him out, Hizbullah might get mad!
War is really just a matter of time, unfortunately. There is no appeasing these people.

YES THIS IS A PAINFUL HIT FOR N(ASS)RALLAH AND HIS HIZBOLLAH GOONS FOR SURE. THE THING THAT MAKES IT SO PAINFUL IS THE FACT THAT THIS WAS DONE BY BOOTS ON THE GROUND. BOOTS THE ENEMY DON,T KNOW.THEY COULD BE ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. IT,S A GREAT PSYCHOLOGICAL VICTORY AS WELL. WHEN YOU KILL A ENEMY LEADER WITH AIRPOWER, IT,S DIFFERENT. In the '73 war, little known was an Israeli intention to -- if on the brink of defeat by the Soviet-supplied Syrian and Egyptian forces -- fire their Jericho missiles at the Soviet Union in a last act of defiance.
Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, et al, would do well to remember this, amidst their babbling bluster. Unlike the US, Israel seems determined to defend itself at all costs.
Sounds like a good defense plan for the US against Islamofascists, and any other challengers.
