Obamaminia, many asking 'where's the beef?'
More important than what Michelle Obama says, or whether Obama used someone else's words, or the fact that Obama would never pick Clinton as his running mate, or even Clinton trying to nab Obama's delegates ... What really matters is that Obama who is as transparent as air, could be President of the United States.
I listened to his speech tonight in Texas after winning Wisconsin and the only plans I heard were a promise for no more toys with lead paint and no taxes for senior citizens. Did I miss something?
Instapundit, Krugman (NYT), Kevin Drum (Washington Monthly), Talk Left, and others are beginning to talk about the Obama bubble beginning to burst. There are going to be a lot of embarrassed disciples when they realize the truth about him.
Picture This: Africa For Obama. According to Political Realm:
This picture comes not from Wisconsin, Hawaii, Ohio, Texas, or any of the states with upcoming primary contests. Rather, this image comes from President Bush's trip to Africa, where the race to succeed him has also created quite a bit of excitement.

About Obama's 'followers', Rick Moran, commenting on an article by Sara at Orcinus, says:
... the essence of a crusade: where emotion trumps reason and belief or faith is substituted for rational thought. There are many of Senator Barack Obama’s opponents who refer to the “cult-like” atmosphere of his campaign or worse, describe his followers as cultists. Others see a kind of religious fervor at work in the Obama camp.
Basically, the author is saying that young Obama supporters have suspended their rational thought processes – if they ever had any – in favor of placing unquestioning faith in a politician and that to avoid becoming “disillusioned,” they must develop critical thinking skills in order to deal with their inevitable disappointment. [snip]
No, it’s not a “Cult of Obama,” but clearly a movement born of hope, faith, and childlike acceptance of the candidate’s “promise” of greatness.
Is this the stuff of revolution? I don’t see it. More likely, this fervor will drift into the background as the interminably long general election campaign gets underway. At that point, I will guarantee you that if Obama fails to define himself, others will do it for him. And as Obama gets more specific and people realize exactly what his idea of “change” actually is, I suspect that the candidate will appear a little less like a man on a white horse and more like a normal politician. Mushy: Condi Rice has been asked about this several times over the years, and she always denies any interest in running for political office. Her real interests now are in sports. BUT... we never know.
There was a time I thought she would make a good leader, but she has done some things I certainly do not agree with when it comes to Israel.
Of course, she is in the position to carry out President Bush's policies and she might make different decisions if she were in power.
We will have to wait and see. I do think more Conservatives would be willing to vote for McCain if Condi was on the ticket. Also this might draw some female and black votes too.

I did another futile post on Obama this morning, not that it will do any good. It's pretty obvious by now that for all of us bloggers screaming about Obama, not 1/10th of a percent of Americans either read what we say or give a damn about the truth.
We are the only ones calling Obama the muslim that he is and offering up the abundant proof of it. Everyone else is ignoring it and hiding it and the American public just sucks up whatever the MSM feeds them.
Things just keep looking uglier and uglier.
Congrats on your interview, btw. There's nothing like recognition.

Hi Debbie,
The bubble of Obama is getting bigger with each primary victory (now 10 consecutive wins). It's got to burst sometime. I have always maintained that his empty rhetoric must be fleshed out with specifics.
He appeals to the youth and has encouraged them in great numbers to get involved in their future. They have only higher taxes and reduced services and deteriorating infrastructure for their future since the looming problem of baby boomer retirement will require massive funding which they will pay for. They may not even afford to have their own children.
Obama's call is like that of the Pied Piper, promising paradise at the bottom of the river. --Durano, done!

Some choice we have here: two outright socialists, though one is a tad more transparent about it than the other, or "both ends against the middle" McCain.
Those 'Recreate '68' morons coming to Denver for the DNC conflagration may prove to be the least of our upcoming worries, depending on how this election winds up.

Debbie, I've read other posts about this Obamamania thing. I don't get it. Sure he's good-looking but is that all they want? I have a Swiss student who said that the one person she'd most like to date in the whole world would be Obama. So it's not limited to America!
What about the state of the country? Completely bizarre.

Condi is a conservative, leftists only yearn for racial diversity that's leaning their way. They're not big on folks who don't toe the line with their thinking.
As for Obama's followers and rational thought processes, i don't think they had any, the media won't expose him for the empty fraud that he is and the new generation needs everything given to them. They struggle to do their own research and digging. Especially now that it's become so easy, go figure.

There are many of Senator Barack Obama’s opponents who refer to the “cult-like” atmosphere of his campaign or worse, describe his followers as cultists. ..gosh this is too unnerving...a Muslim preacher wanna be with ties to terrorists in kenya for president?!..yikes! :)

Debbie - I read on another blog tonight that if CONDOLEEZZA RICE was added to the McCain ticket it would be unbeatable by the Socialists...what do you think? And, is it a possibility?
Personally, I think it would be a brilliant strategy for the party to take.
