The International Institute of Islamic Thought: Interesting Friends in Interesting Places, by Douglas Farah. Read it and weep:
The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT), one of the main entities under federal investigation in Northern Virginia, is hosting its annual conference this year in Cape Town, South Africa. What’s interesting is that the press release from the National Awqaf Foundation announcing the event lists Yousef Qaradawi, the leading theologian of the Muslim Brotherhood, as an important affiliate of IIIT, something that has not been publicly stated before.
The official statement, from Awqaf, which is co-hosting the event, says:
The IIIT board and executive members comprises of the foremost scholars, academics and intellectuals in the Muslim World, including the Leading Islamic Theologian Dr. Yusuf Al-Qardawi, the former Finance Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Anwar Ebrahim, the exiled Iraqi leader Dr. Ahmad Totonjie and the Founder and Rector of the International Islamic University (IIU) in Kuala Lumpur, Professor Dr. Abdul Hamid Ahmad Abu Sulayman, to name a few.The State Department and other continue to host IIIT and embrace them in the outreach program, in large part because no charges have been filed against the group in the almost six years since the raids on their offices in Herndon, Virginia. The group has consistently denied any ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. (continue reading)

Maj. Couglin’s thesis, “To Our Great Detriment: Ignoring What Extremists Say About Jihad” was written in partial satisfaction for the requirements of his master’s degree. Coughlin is also a lawyer, though the thesis was written in the language of military strategy. To understand his argument, I find it helpful to view it through an American legal analogy.Let’s say someone in the U.S. is accused of a serious crime. In addition to being innocent of the charges, the defendant also believes the crime itself is unconstitutional. This would raise the prospect of a two-pronged defense, and – because American law is so specialized – perhaps two types of lawyers on the defense team: (1) a trial lawyer who can mount a good defense on the factual allegations, and (2) a constitutional lawyer, who could prepare the appropriate motion to dismiss based on the theory that the crime violates the U.S. Constitution. You see what crazy things are going on in our government. We need sane people in Washington, those who are serious about who the enemy is, call it by name, are prepared to defend the US against that enemy, and are willing to speak out here in the US against those enemy-connected people and organizations that have infiltrated our government and other organizations and use our laws against us. Who are those politicians? Where are they? They are sure not running for office this year.
In fact, Fox News is reporting that at one point JOHN McCAIN WANTED TO LEAVE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AND JOIN THE DEMOCRATS. I'm not surprised.
No conservative I know is happy with the presidential candidates, nor will the conservatives vote for McCain. In fact, they want to DUMP MCCAIN. We are now wondering who the VP will be. Ann Coulter's lost her mind and plans to vote for Hillary, which has brought some to question whether conservatism is dead. McCain vs. Hillary, we're doomed. McCain's short on money, but Obama is raking in MILLIONS.
On global warming:
Thanks to Mushy at Mushy's Moochings, here is The Best Scientific Talk on Global Warming, by William M. Briggs, Statistician. He has videos and all you need to know, not GO!
Some careful readers to this blog have pointed out the work of Australian geologist Bob Carter. If you have not yet seen his work, you should. So I want you to drop whatever you are doing and watch his talk below. It is the best statistical and scientific public talk I have yet seen. I’ll write more about this later, after you’ve seen his talk.

I was conservative before I grew up! Paranoia runs rampant thruout conservatism, doesn't it? Innocent until proven guilty. You people are killing this constitution and it is disgusting.
