"Egypt re-opened Gaza's Rafah crossing for the first time since Hamas blew up the border wall on Jan. 23 for ambulances to collect some 150 wounded Palestinians, ... DEBKAfile's military sources disclose that 27 ambulances also brought in 15-20 Hamas commando fighters, ... Israel military sources are watching to see if the incoming ambulances are also carrying shoulder-borne anti-air missiles for shooting down Israeli helicopters and drones, which Hamas has been pressing Egypt to allow them to bring in." (DEBKAfile) hat tip Michael
"Shortly after Israel's withdrawal, Monday, March 3, the Palestinians stepped up their cross-border attacks. One of three Katyusha rockets fired from Gaza at Ashkelon hit a seven-story building sending a dozen people into shock and sowing wide panic in the city of 120,000. Four missiles exploded in the Eshkol farmland area south of Sderot, while mortar fire was aimed at Sderot, Kibbutz Yad Mordecai, Nahal Oz and Netiv Ha'asara." (DEBKAfile)
'Hamas is using US weapons against IDF', shame on the US.
They added that the Hamas gunmen were using many American-made arms seized from the Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority security forces in June.Hamas says it captured thousands of M-16 and Kalashnikov rifles, and large supplies of ammunition during its weeklong conquest of Gaza. Hamas is also believed to have acquired weapons capable of penetrating armor and stockpiles of rocket-propelled grenades.
A senior Hamas official said Sunday that his movement had smuggled hundreds of rockets and mortars and tons of explosives into the Gaza Strip from Egypt in the past few months.
Yoni the Blogger says:
This just once again highlights how stupid the American policy is when it comes to the Palestinians.Does it really matter if the Palestinians are shooting at the IDF with M16 rifles or AK47's maybe not, when we look at the fighting on the street level. But does it matter in principle that the enemies of Israel are using weapons made in the USA, yes it does.
More at Jihad Watch.
The United States is quick to condemn the 'violence' by Israel. Where were the condemnations for the Palestinians this last year? Remember "Israel did NOT fire the first shot ."
With Condoleezza Rice, the US secretary of state, due in Jerusalem tomorrow, a White House spokesman said: "The violence needs to stop and the talks need to resume." (more)
Word is "Hamas 'didn't expect such a massive attack'", why would they?
Get out the world's smallest violin. For weeks now we've been hearing threats from Hamas about how 'thousands' of suicide bombers were going to kill thousands of Israeli soldiers if Israel ever dared to invade Hamastan to put a stop to the rocket fire on its civilians. Now, not only is Hamas suing for 'peace,' they are claiming that they never expected this in the first place. I guess they thought their threats were a deterrent. (Israel Mstzav)
Israel hears that Condi Rice is on her way to the Middle East, and coincidentally Israel begins to withdraw. Pat Dollard says:
Clearly, what the Israelis are trying to achieve in Gaza is regime change. It’s the only the only thing they can do to protect themselves from Hamas, who have declared a perpetual state of war on them. In case you hadn’t heard, Hamas just declared victory at Israel’s withdrawal from the strip, but Olmert just sharply pointed out that the attacks are far from over…
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says peace talks will continue. Am I the only one who believes that these peace talks are useless, a sham, a waste of time for everybody?
Interesting note, the United States is sending more war ships to the Eastern Mediterranean.
Conspiracy theory: All this must be part of the Bush Administration's plan to END the United States. Like Americans having to ask permission to fly the friendly skies?

Hi Debbie.
It is really disgusting that our nation is still enabling the Palestinians.
America is so naive. One would think that our government would of learned from the bin Laden experience. No never, America is like a dog that keeps returning to its own vomit and eating eat. It makes one sick to think that our government is doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past since it has refused to learn anything.
