Easter Sunday reading list

He Is Not Here: The sorrow of Good Friday is thrown off by the glory that is Easter., bRight&Early

The resurrection Easter morning completes the transaction that I can not pay. With Christ’s triumph over death my debt of sin is marked “Paid In Full” and death sentence I deserve is forever removed. Glory!

Thank you, Lord, for your mercy and love.

Hijabs on Western Political Women, by Daniel Pipes (go see all the images, but here's ONE)

For fun, how about collecting those instances when female political leaders, especially leftist ones, don the hijab (Islamic headscarf)?

Hillary Clinton, when she was still wife of the U.S. president in 1997, traveled to Eritrea and put on a headscarf. Interestingly, her daughter Chelsea, seen in the background, did not.

Sympathy for the Devil, the Spin is in -- Easter Sermon, Obama's Pastor Spews Wright Victim of Lynching, Atlas Shrugs

The Devil is caught spewing inciteful, invective-- vile, seditious hate speech and it's our fault. He was the victim of a lynching because we went to the videotape and saw that was no church. This is how its going to be spun

In Easter Sermon, New Obama Pastor Charges Rev. Wright Victim Lynching

The Rise and Fall of Barack Obama’s Presidential Ambitions , The Right State

Not long after winning his Senate seat, Obama began seeking the presidential nomination of the Democrat Party for President. Barack Obama was the perfect candidate—he was highly intelligent, a gifted speaker, and delivered a populist message. The fact that he was black was not an issue. Obama’s oratory skills would rival those of the famed Silver Tongued Orator, William Jennings Bryan who unsuccessfully ran for president several times on a populist platform. Although he is running as the candidate who is against the war, these particular words of Obama’s stand out (from the Convention) because they do not signal that he is against the war. Rather they show he believes we should pursue our enemies wherever they might be found

Female Suicide Bombers in Iraq: Why the Trend Continues, By Farhana Ali, Counterterrorism Blog

As the war in Iraq continues, more Iraqi women will be ready to make the ultimate sacrifice: to use their bodies as human shields. The U.S. Government and other experts are asking: Why now? Why has there been a spike in attacks in Iraq committed by women? More importantly, how will the new role of women as suicide bombers change the nature of this conflict?

Since March 2003, when the war began, Iraqi women’s participation in suicide terrorism has increased by nearly 30%. This year, alone, there have been eight attacks committed by women, compared to six in 2007. The exponential increase in female suicide bombings suggests the trend will continue to rise, unless security officials, the Iraqi Government, and the international community seek new solutions to counter the rising violence by an important non-state actor.

Nixmary Brown Petition, Crime Scene Blog

Dear Honorable Priscilla Hall:

Let me start off by saying how much we appreciate your professionalism and expertise during the Cesar Rodriguez trial. We have followed this horrific case since Nixzmary’s murder and we are asking that justice be delivered to the fullest extent of the law. We have attended the trial, read news articles, wrote emails, in order to keep abreast of this case. Unfortunately, we feel the verdict was much to lenient and inappropriate justice considering the unconscionable crime that Cesar committed. We implore you to please hold Cesar accountable for his inhumane actions which lead to the brutal and savage murder of young Nixzmary by issuing him 29 years of incarceration without chance of parole. It terrifies us to think someday Cesar will walk the streets once again, only to make victim another young child.

Oh Hell, Let Them Eat Biofuel at Freedom's Zone

The energy requirements of ethanol production mean that using ethanol as fuel isn't all that much better for the environment than using gasoline; and at best - even if all the corn planted in the United States were used for ethanol, biofuel would still displace only 12 per cent of gasoline consumption.

But the Left has sold us a pig in a poke. In the course of falling for the environmentalists' delusions, Al Gore's great hoax on the world, and political power, wheat and food costs are soaring as the boom in ethanol production is driving up the price of food:

“Fitna”: The Left Paints Itself into a Corner, by Baron Bodissey, Gates of Vienna

Here’s a report from our expatriate Dutch correspondent, H. Numan, on the current controversy in the Netherlands over Geert Wilders’ movie.

Notice that in the photo of the demo the slick expensively-produced protest sign carried by the demonstrator has the word “western” spelled wrong. Heh.

A Tuzla greeting exposes Hillary,
Hot Air

I missed this video earlier this week. Rich Noyes at Newsbusters delivers a coup de grace to Hillary Clinton’s credibility in a YouTube mashup. The assertion that Hillary went to Tuzla under such threat that she had to eschew a greeting ceremony and run for her waiting armored vehicle gets exposed as an absolute lie with contemporaneous reporting from the day in question. Take a look at the video, and see how closely it matches Hillary’s description of the event this week (via Matthew Yglesias):

Pope Benedict XVI Baptizes Italian Muslim Convert, My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. –Matthew 28:19-20

My 1and1 Hosting Nightmare or “Why Should I Keep My Business With a Server/Web Host that Suddenly Sucks?”,
Webloggin

It is unfortunate that the sad state of performance and technical support from my server host has compelled me to feel the need to write this article. Consider this a warning to others that are looking to pay premium dollars to have a dedicated server hosted on a managed platform. If 1and1 is in the running and you need any sort of guaranteed uptime with guaranteed support then look elsewhere. BTW, if you are reading this and you are a server host or have a reliable server host please email me

— Glenn “Instapundit” Reynolds today linked to what he called “EASTER THOUGHTS” from one of his favorite right-wing blogs [gers], his namesake, “Instapunk.” That Easter post has a large picture of a crucified Christ along with a lovely religious poem.

Pope is Catholic, not Christian. The mere existence of a Pope goes against everything Jesus taught.
