Muammar al-Qaddafi will restore America's standing in the world
The Democrats keep preaching that they will "restore America's standing in the world", they seem blind to the damage they are doing while campaigning. Libyan leader Col. Muammar al-Qaddafi weighed in on the United States presidential election, noting the Democrats are preaching 'change, change'.
"I've seen that in America, a candidate who wants people to vote for him keeps talking about change," Qaddafi said earlier this week in a televised address on Libyan TV, an obvious reference to Barack Obama.
"They all keep saying 'change, change,' " he continued, adding Hillary Clinton to his reference. "They want to change America and its current political system. They want to make a change in their lives. They say their system is a failure, that their government is a failure, and that their elections are a failure."
Qaddafi offered up Libya as a model for "change," predicting that "the whole world will return to the model of the republic of the masses, to communes, to popular security, to popular defense, to popular capitalism, and to popular socialism. (Fox)
He is correct about several things, specifically that politicians are bad-mouthing this country just to get elected. What they are not considering is that the entire world watches these elections. They should be campaigning on what a GREAT nation America is; how proud they are to be Americans; how it would be an honor to represent the USA as President -- instead of this negative talk about our country.
He's also right about socialism, communes etc. because sometimes I think that is exactly what some politicians would like to force upon us. Nanny government to tell us what to do, when to do it, how to do it, and have us dependent upon the government for everything. Only problem with that is, if everybody is dependent, --- where will the government get their money they so love to throw around???
Also:
According to a report posted on the Middle East Media Research website on Friday, Qaddafi said that both the Democratic presidential candidates could look to Libya as a model for the change they keep talking about.
In a lengthy narrative address, Qaddafi stated that he thinks a small minority of people elect officials in the United States, that he has heard Americans in general call for change in the nation's electoral process and that the Libyan system provides a model to follow. (here)

No one gets in trouble here. I posted the article for discussion. Thanks.

Hi Aurora, I hear you I don't wanna get in trouble either - I love Right Truth.
And the truth is in 2003 Iraq had the largest standing army in the Arab world. Disorganization aside. Sources? "The Iraq War" by John Keegan, "Persian Puzzle" by Ken Pollack and "Secret History of the Iraq War" by Yossef Bodansky.
All these cats are many things to be sure - yet neocons, Bushleaguers and talk show hosts they AIN'T.

Aurora's article is excellent.
There is nothing wrong with us voicing our opinions about what we thing is going right, or wrong, here in the US. But when it's out there in the world, and the world uses our bickering against us, that's not good.
With instant news, video, etc. there's no way to keep our bickering in-house any longer.
Candidates need to be careful what they say, but more importantly how they say it. Every word out of their mouths can affect America around the world.
I'm certainly not against free speech.

Libya is just as free as America is -- after all, you can criticize America just as much in Libya as you can here! ROFL...
That's why we call him Khaddafy Duck. ROFL...
"They should be campaigning on what a GREAT nation America is; how proud they are to be Americans; how it would be an honor to represent the USA as President -- instead of this negative talk about our country."
Yes and no. I certainly see what you're saying, as I myself get tired of these professional malcontents -- that's what Nixon called them, and Nixon was right.
Still, though, if all we do is feel good about ourselves, we will wind up being a communist paradise. In that light, it is interesting to read Aurora's latest post: http://www.themidnightsun.org/?p=2073

Michael: Thanks for the comment and you certainly are not in any trouble with me. I agree that Americanism is what counts today. There's not much difference in some on the Left and some on the Right. Also, McCain is far from the person that I would have chosen for our next President. No he will never back away fromm his shamnesty program, but Bush is for the same program.
What are we to do?
Posted by: Debbie | March 08, 2008 at 09:23 PM
How shameful that we are left open to the gloating of a lowlife like Qaddafi about prominent Americans all wanting to change their own country.
America has been the greatest country in history and it's only the very presence of the Left that they're losing that pre-eminence.

I don't want to get into trouble with Debbie (who I respect greatly)but you folks should stop relying on semi-literate talk show hosts for your education. You lived though this stuff..pay attention and try to remember what you have seen and heard. Jeezz!
"America knocked out the largest Arab army in history in 20 days" ??????
(The second or third weakest, and least organised army is more like it)
And coming from Arizona the discussion about McCain (Other than his being a brave, foul-mouthed Naval officer, which I respect) is pure fantasy. McCain will never back away from his Shamnesty Plan....never.
Thomas on watching our politicians carefully and holding their feet to the fire; "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
Hero worship and Personality Cults belong to the Communists who view Fidel, Pol Pot and Chairman Mao the way Americans worship Big Government, One World Bush, his dittoheads, and Obama.
You can keep your updated Communism (Even if you convince yourselves that Communism is "Conservative" , Left is Right, and Up is Down.
I'll stick with Americanism.
(You'll never hear Limbaugh say that!)

McCain has a vile temper? What a joke. If this is the least offensive election cycle to you, Black Sheep, then congrats. The party of identity politics is split wide open, trying to remain in the good graces of race and sexist politics.
McCain is a patriot, regardless how you chose to misstate his policies. He has pledged to close the borders first. He was misquoted about the 100 years in Iraq, saying we'll be there only if the soldiers are not under fire, like in S. Korea, Germany, Japan, etc. Fairly easy to understand if you want to.
McCain consistently disagrees with Bush. No getting around that record, so the koolaid drinkers will have to come up with another slogan than he'll be Bush's third term.
Courtney, commenting here, is right. Libya caved as soon as Iraq was in play. That is fairly easy to understand, too.
As far as Republicans being soley responsible for 'spewing vile' dialogue? Are you kidding? Nothing but hate coming from the left for the past 7 years.
We'll see where the independents go in November.

This is the single LEAST OFFENSIVE election process I've seen in my entire life. I will certainly never forget the horrors visited upon our world image by the Republican party when Bill Clinton was going for his second term, and then the incessant attacks over the Lewinsky affair after that, that went on for years, long after he left office, that were very successful in making America and the presidency look like total crap in the eyes of the world.
This is not to excuse Bill Clinton. He screwed up, indeed. Just like many other presidents have screwed up in both parties.
However, the venom, the hatred and vicious bile that spewed out of Republican mouths in an unending torrent in utter disregard for the damage it was doing to the global image of America was and still is unconscionable.
This is my gripe with politics. The people who become our leaders are only human and sometimes less human than we are. They act out of their emotions instead of the reasoning parts of their brains, they only concern themselves with their own wants instead of our needs, they're greedy, avaricious and two-faced. ALL OF THEM.
The democrats are absolutely right to preach change because it's what we all want. We may not want the kind of change they'd bring to us but they know we want all the BS to end and so they feed us that message of hope to get our votes.
The Republicans have fronted up an old man with a vile temper and a total disregard for his country in spite of all the Hero bullshit. He wants open borders and a 100-year Iraq war. Does anyone want him?
His nasty, and very uncontrollable fits of rage are an extreme liability in one who would be the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth and his age isn't helping to improve his mental state. He's another George Bush, only worse.
No, this is a very mild and respectful election process so far and I don't expect it to get vile until the Dem. candidate is chosen. Then the Republican Attack Machine will be wheeled out again in all its orgiastic hideousness, to lie and spin-doctor, infer and impute, rumor-monger and slander, once again making America look like jackasses in front of all the world.
Daffy Kadaffi is right. Our politics suck.

Gosh! I knew it!!!!!!!!
I don't like this very much, turbans are very hot and I doubt that I will get used to wearing one. Do you think it'll become mandatory?
I like the gifts that Obama intends to give to us all, but not enough to wear a turban. I think I'll have to write in Bolton...or Dr. Hugh Cort.

If the truth is bad it must be proclaimed, if change is needed truth has to be it's guide.
Our standing today is a case of "what a great nation America "was" not "is""
Negative talk is the attention getter. Negative talk until this country is positive again for our people and for the world.
Because of George W Bush WIII is more of a certainty, I cannot bite my tounge, CHANGE!!!

Actually, a case could be made that Libya did restore Great Satan's standing in the world.
When America knocked out the largest Arab army in history in 20 days, Colonel Khadaffy's surprisingly WMD witchcraft was halted. About Saddam's spiderhole time it was fessed up.
Libya proved that Great Satan could have taken him out anyway, but was true to her word. Even to an oathbreaker like Muamar.
