Remote-controlled toy newest terror weapon
Turkish police foil plot to bomb US companies: Report, Times of India
ANKARA: A Turkish news agency says police have foiled an alleged plot to bomb US companies in the country.Police arrested three suspects belonging to a leftist militant group during a raid in Istanbul, a Turkish news agency reported. Authorities seized a remote-controlled toy car allegedly being prepared to be used in a bombing.
Police also seized a list of US companies that the DHKP-C group was targeting, including Coca Cola, Pepsi and Citibank.
The DHKP-C is listed as a terror group by the US and EU, and has been active since the 1970s.
Reports are four more spies of al-Qaeda found -- "sleeper" agents in MI5, passing secrets from Scotland Yard to terror leaders. Note, 'Asian' in the following report actually means Pakistani or Middle Eastern. This is not something new. I reported several times before, that officials in the UK know about many of these spies and have not removed them for fear of lawsuits and Muslim outrage should the allegations not stand. The spies are simply being kept under secret service surveillance after infiltrating the Metropolitan Police.
The suspected spies are believed to have used methods similar to those employed by the IRA in the 1970s as they infiltrated the police and the Army in Northern Ireland. All four are understood to be Asians living in London and are feared to have links both with Islamic extremists in Britain and worldwide terror groups - including al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
MI5 chiefs reportedly believe the suspected moles have been planted as sleepers - agents under deep cover to keep al-Qaeda informed of anti-terror raids planned by London’s Metropolitan Police.
They are said to fear the four could have already accessed sensitive information about secret operations to root out terror cells planning further attacks in the UK.
In China, two separate terror attempts were thwarted, one involving airplanes and 'questionable liquids', to perpetrate an air disaster or hijacking. Two militants were killed and 15 arrested in a January 27 raid in Urumqi, capital of the vast region bordering several Central Asian republics,-- the gang had planned to attack the August 8-24 Olympics.
The group had collaborated with the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), an obscure grouping that is listed by the United Nations as an international terrorist group, according to Xinhua.
Many nations around the world are standing up against terrorism. No nation is immune from Islamic terror. Other nations not only support terrorism, they celebrate the deaths of innocent children and raise their own children to hate and kill.
Eight young men, unarmed and in the relative security of their Jerusalem yeshiva, are gunned down in cold blood. In Gaza, thousands take to the streets to celebrate. Their government encourages them to do so.How toxic is a society when the governing party suggests celebrating a massacre of teenaged boys? (more)
The above terror attack on children 'cannot be viewed in isolation'
These are but the latest battles in Iran’s low-level proxy war against Israel – a war that has been taking place in one form or another since the 1979 Iranian Revolution brought the Ayatollah Khomeini to power. [snip]Tehran and Damascus are deeply involved in fomenting the violence between Israel and the terrorists based in Gaza. (more)
In this political season in the United States, I think the politicians need to worry less about whether they are offended by a statement their opposition makes, and worry more about the safety of this nation. They need to support our friends; name our enemies; and recognize that this is more than a popularity contest. Winning the highest position in the free world comes with great responsibility. I'm not sure the candidates are giving that any thought.
