Who would have thought that in 2008 ...
It's a battle every day, the 'get-out-of-Iraq-crowd vs the stay-and-win-crowd'; the Liberals vs the Conservatives; Democrats vs. Republicans; now thanks to the 'uniter' Barack Obama -- Whites vs Blacks. In his Philadelphia address on race, Sen. Obama identified as a root cause of white resentment affirmative action -- the punishing of white working- and middle-class folks for sins they did not commit.
That statement is true, but Obama INCORRECTLY explains further, " ... black rage is grounded in real grievances, while white resentments are exaggerated and exploited."
Who would have thought that in 2008 we would be discussing race again? Certainly not me. As Jerry Agar states in his article, A Report from the White Community, -- "I did not spend a moment today thinking about how to keep the black man down."
I am aware that racism still exists. It is a sad part of the human condition. But it is no longer institutional in America and to the extent it exists, it runs both ways. But as we have heard over and over again lately from the pastor of an 8,000 member church, one of his 20-year parishioners who is running for president, and all of their media enablers, the problems in the black community today are still the fault of us white people. White guys in particular.
Barack Obama calls for the white community to understand that “investing in the health, welfare and education of black and brown and white children will ultimately help all of America prosper.”How much larger does he think America’s investment in those areas can get? In real dollars education spending is multiples of what it was four decades ago and test scores have hardly changed. If we have failed perhaps it is time for less government, the prevailing failing authority. Let’s call onto the carpet the people responsible. Is it those evil, suburban white guys again? Well, shame on them – no wait – it turns out that practically all of our big cities are run by liberal Democrats, many of them black. Education is dominated by a teachers union run by liberals, not white Republicans. (continue reading, you really should)
While Obama's preacher rants about the evil White man and the mistreated Black man, President George W. Bush has done more for Africa than any other president. "So why did he do it? As singer-songwriter Bob Geldof pointed out, "There are no votes in helping the poor of Africa, but Bush did it anyway."" Do we think for one minute that the Africans want Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama as president?
Condi Rice says "the United States still has trouble dealing with race because of a national “birth defect” that denied black Americans the opportunities given to whites at the country’s very founding."
“Black Americans were a founding population,” she said. “Africans and Europeans came here and founded this country together — Europeans by choice and Africans in chains. That’s not a very pretty reality of our founding.” As a result, Miss Rice told editors and reporters at The Washington Times, “descendants of slaves did not get much of a head start, and I think you continue to see some of the effects of that.” (more)
At least one report says that Condi Rice has changed her mind, and now she WOULD AGREE to become the Vice Presidential candidates, if asked.
Who would the Iraqis want for President of the United States?
... chances are good that the next occupant of the Oval Office would be Gen. David Petraeus.Barring that unlikely development, John McCain will do. Or so I hear from an Iraqi journalist with whom I've corresponded the past couple of years, a woman whose family was once courted by Saddam Hussein but who later became a victim of his torturers.
Americans are paying the rent for terrorists, both abroad and inside the United States. This seems crazy to me, especially with the threat of homegrown terrorists. “The public is getting complacent, ... We can’t afford to be complacent in law enforcement, and I don’t think we are,”” New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly tells FOX News in the new FOX News documentary, “Jihad, USA,” which will air at 9 p.m. ET on March 29.
The presidential candidates haven't said one word about homegrown terrorism, money given to Palestinians and Hamas. No, there's more important things to talk about -- 'change ...', 'yes we can ...', 'ready on day one ...', 'reaching across the isle ...' the latest invented crisis... blah blah blah.
Mortgage crisis, labor crisis, energy crisis, food crisis, global warming crisis and the government mandates that make things worse and put an undue burden on average American citizens. Everything becomes a "crisis" when politicians are in election mode. The media jump on the bandwagon 'reporting' on and exaggerating the latest 'crisis'.
Maybe we need to ask who the media wants for president.... Oh, wait. The media is split between Obama and Clinton. Wow, talk about being between a rock and a hard place. How will the media suffer if their candidate doesn't win? Will they be shut out of the administration, cut off from tips and interviews? We know there is a direct relationship between who the media backs and what gets printed or reported.
There is a direct connection between adverse U.S. news coverage about Operation Iraqi Freedom and intensified attacks on civilians and coalition forces in Iraq. "Is There an 'Emboldenment' Effect? Evidence from the Insurgency in Iraq" shows that negative media coverage and adverse commentary by U.S. political luminaries produce a statistically measurable increase in enemy activity.
The media plays a big part on elections. Who would have thought that in the year 2008 race would be a point of American politics? Who would have thought that in the year 2008 the media would select a presidential candidate? Who would have thought that peace in the world and beating back terrorists, would be something the media would be AGAINST. Who would have thought?

I'm still seething over Condi. She dares disparage America while she embraces jihadists and terrorists and somehow it just doesn't occur to her to mention their "birth defects", given that Africans and Arabs enslaved all races 1000 years before whitey ever jumped into the trade? I tell you what, if this is all that has come from all that America has sacrificed to right a wrong that few other nations have addressed so thoroughly - the suadis didn't abolish slavery until the 1960s - why the hell did we ever bother?

Denny, thank you for that. You are not alone in your thoughts.
Hi Angel.

Without ever "going there," there are so many good reasons to not vote for either Democratic candidate that its hardly worth the worry. One or both will implode before the convention. Calls for Hillary to withdraw are going ignored at this point. However, and it is an important caution...beware a "hung" convention for the Democrats. If neither candidate secures the nomination on the 1st ballot (or maybe by the 2nd), almost anything can happen.
PS: that includes the drafting of a candidate other than Obama or Clinton (unity for th egood of the party etc.)

Would your “church,” if you fellowship with one, put on it’s bulletin board hateful articles from the anti-semitic, terrorist group Hamas? Barack Obama’s CURRENT church, Trinity United Church of Christ, did just that.
We just found out in the last 48 hours that Wright, while giving a eulogy in 2007, said that “(Jesus’) enemies had their opinion about Him… The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans.”
Now comes a report by NBC News that while Wright was in charge at Obama’s CURRENT church, reprinted anti-Israel writings, including one column by none other than Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzook, appeared on the bulletin board there.
The column by the Hamas leader, Mousa Abu Marzook, asked: “Why should any Palestinian recognise the monstrous crimes carried out by Israel’s founders and continued by its deformed modern apartheid state?”
The question becomes one of judgment, character, integrity, honesty and intelligence.
If I were to believe Obama’s defense that he didn’t, and still doesn’t, know what was, and still is, going on at his church for 20 years, then, in my opinion, he must not be very observant nor intelligent, and does not possess sensible judgement. Therefore he cannot be qualified to be the POTUS, in my opinion. If I do NOT believe Obama, then his integrity, character and honesty is woefully insufficient to be the POTUS, in my opinion.
Obama went to Harvard Law School (they don’t let just anybody in), where he became the first African-American president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude in 1991. Now do you think he is NOT aware of what his church and ex-pastor are all about? Be AFRAID! Be VERY AFRAID!
Barack Obama’s political FRAUD against the American People continues…
