Quotes of the Day
Scary thoughts come in all forms, from all directions, and must be addressed before the thought is spoken, before the spoken word becomes action, before the scary becomes reality. Or has it already?
Christians:
Christians:
"When Christians dare to be convicted, they are portrayed as bigots. When they articulate a view with which others may disagree, they are dogmatic. When they fall short of perfection, they are pilloried and cast as hypocrites. When they defend the unborn, they are unenlightened. When they oppose animal-human embryos, they are anti-science. When they express concern over the fatherless, they are homophobic. When they speak up for the poor, they are wishy-washy liberals. When they defend faith-based education, they are intolerant. When they seek to uphold marriage, they are ‘right wing’ reactionaries." --from EursocJews:
“The day will come when all nations amidst which the Jews are dwelling will have to raise the question of their wholesale expulsion, a question which will be one of life or death, good health or chronic disease, peaceful existence or perpetual social fever." -- foreboding warning by Franz Liszt, the eminent nineteenth century composer, thanks to Flanders Fields

Accurate quotes those, uncomfortably accurate.

I wish you and everyone a good Memorial Day and weekend, Debbie. Enjoy some of the freedoms which are intended for Americans every day. Thanks to those who have preserved those for us and who have given us the right to maintain them. Have fun, and remember that it was the veterans who fell along with the American civilians who lived who have made our freedoms have meaning.
