United States President George W. Bush is visiting Saudi Arabia begging King Abdullah to produce more oil and thus lower the price of gasoline for Americans. Pathetic. Why isn't Bush begging Congress to produce more here at home so he can get up off his knees in the Middle East?

Dear Mr. President,

As you prepare for your visit to Saudi Arabia next week, I strongly urge you to raise my concerns regarding the use of textbooks that are sanctioned by the Saudi Government for use within the country and around the world, that preach hatred and violence toward non-Muslims and Western ideals of liberty.

When you are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Saudi relations, it is extremely important to continue the necessary dialogue that the Saudi Government must end its sponsorship of divisive, violent ideas and embrace the freedom of choice that forms the foundation of a free society. As more young Saudi citizens take part in the scholarship student visa program, we must be sure that we are not permitting Saudi citizens into our country who seek to do us harm, as we saw with the fifteen hijackers from Saudi Arabia who attacked us on 9/11.

State departments of education and Boards of education are using text books with serious omissions and misrepresentations in Islam-related chapters. Why: They want to minimize friction -- whether the subject is abstinence or Islam. Gloss over the truth, keep the peace and let our children think everything is just peachy.

Osama bin Laden released a new message saying Al Qaida will continue its war against Israel and its allies until it liberates Palestine.

Bin Laden said the fight for the Palestinian cause was the most important factor driving al Qaida’s war with the West. “To Western nations … this speech is to understand the core reason of the war between our civilization and your civilizations. I mean the Palestinian cause,” said bin Laden.

“The Palestinian cause is the major issue for my (Islamic) nation. It was an important element in fueling me from the beginning and the 19 others with a great motive to fight for those subjected to injustice and the oppressed,” he added.

Many folks like to say we are not fighting another 'nation', we are fighting a movement across the globe. I beg to differ. From Osama's own lips, we are fighting the NATION (CALIPHATE) OF ISLAM which happens not to be limited to one country.

An al Qaeda Yemeni wing threatened attacks on Thursday across the Arabian Peninsula against non-Muslim foreigners including tourists and journalists. (National Terror Alert)

“We warn you not to enter the Arabian Peninsula under any name or cover be it as tourists, diplomats, scientists, experts or journalists; you will be a primary target for the mujahideen,” al Qaeda in the South of the Arabian Peninsula said in the editorial of its e-magazine.

“We stand absolved from (the rights) of any infidel who has entered the Arabian Peninsula. (Targeting) their blood and money are religiously right,” it said in reference to non-Muslim foreigners, whom al Qaeda calls infidels.

The United States has not been attacked here on homeland territory since September 11, 2001. We need to stay vigilant and not let our guard down. National Guard troops that have stood guard at four upstate New York nuclear power plants since shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks are being withdrawn this summer.

Interpol confirmed documents today showing that US Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.) (pictured), a leading opponent of the Colombia free-trade deal has been working with a go-between, who has been offering the FARC terrorists help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government. Colombia is America's closest ally in South America. Interpol disclosed today that there was no evidence that the computers seized from dead FARC leader Raul Reyes were tampered with

An FBI presentation states that China has counterfeited Cisco Systems network routers and may be using the equipment to penetrate U.S. government and private sector computer networks. (here)

Federal authorities in February seized some 400 counterfeit Cisco Systems knockoffs worth $76 million. The equipment included routers, switches, gigabit interface converters and WAN interface cards.

Among the purchasers of the fake equipment were the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center, U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, U.S. Air Base at Spangdahelm, Germany, the Bonneville Power Administration, General Services Administration, and the defense contractor Raytheon, which makes key missile and weapons systems.

Chinese weapons have been used by insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan against Americans. Americans believe the Chinese weapons are being sold to Iran and smuggled into Iraq and Afghanistan. (more) Deputy Secretary of State John Negoponte said Washington had expressed concern to Beijing about its ongoing military buildup on its side of the strait separating the mainland and the Taiwan island.

In some good news, "Senior U.S. and Pakistani officials say that Wednesday’s Predator attack on a village in northwest Pakistan was not insignificant, that a “high-value target … an Arab” was among those killed. U.S. officials believe the unnamed target was planning attacks outside Pakistan, “so we nailed him,” in the words of one."

National Security Should Get Top Priority in Presidential Debate, but it's just another political talking point.

What do the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), and the Daily Kos all have in common? They are all seeking to define the enemy as other than "Jihadists." Yeah, maybe if we call them "friends" rather than "jihadists", or "Islamists", or "terrorists", everything will be just fine .......

So far no attacks on U.S. soil, but we must continue to do EVERYTHING both abroad and here at home to keep this nation safe. I believe with all my heart, soul, mind, and intelligence, that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton would be bad news for American Safety.
