The Saudis, when do we deal with them?
The website A Second Look at Saudi Arabia makes it clear that Saudi Arabia is at war with the United States and the West. This is not stated that bluntly up-front but it is the conclusion one reaches from reading the materials. We basically knew this, but this website and these pdf’s put the case together. It is very well documented and heavily footnoted.
The above is from Old Atlantic Lighthouse who continues:
... Saudi Arabia is at war with the United States. This is a war from the bottom up to the top. The people and the government are both in the war. This is a great resource and complements the Complete 9/11 Timeline.
A Second Look at the Saudis, Cooperative Research History Commons

Since September 11, 2001, many Americans have wondered why we did not go after Saudi Arabia and if we ever will. We have no doubts of the September 11 terrorist connections to Saudi Arabia and we have no doubts about the large amounts of money that the Saudis are spending to spread Wahhabism.
The Saudi Government - largely through its embassy - is believed to have funneled at least $120 million into Australia since the 1970s to propagate hardline Islam, bankroll radical clerics and build mosques, schools and charitable organizations. But the Saudi cash that has flowed into Australia, that also allegedly has paid the allowance of hardline Canberra cleric Mohammed Swaiti, who has publicly praised jihadists, is dwarfed by the $90 billion Riyadh is believed to have pumped into promoting Islamic fundamentalism internationally.
Posting on the Saudis, "The Saudis' Secret Agenda", Hyscience and “The Saudis’ Secret Agenda”, Michelle Malkin, The Australian, The New York Sun, and Michelle Malkin here.
Malkin warns, ....... but is she really correct:
There’s an important distinction to be made here between funding for actual terrorists and funding for Wahhabist mosques and studies generally. Even if you, dear reader, may not see much of a difference there, the world does, and it’s useful to bear that fact in mind as you see where the money comes from and where it goes.* [snip]* Remember that one of Al-Qaeda’s goals is to destroy the debauched and un-Islamic royal family. I’m no expert in the intricacies of Saudi politics, but I can see this from the Royals’ perspective: the rulers could sincerely want to walk the line, (which I don’t think exists, but I may be wrong, or the Saudis may be deluding themselves) and try to be anti-al-Qaeda and yet pro-Wahhabism. The latter position perhaps because of conviction but also because they want to cultivate street cred among their populace that they’re authentic Muslims, no matter what Al Qaeda and their other radical detractors say.
Hyscience says:
For America to ignore what the Saudis are doing around the world to foster and support radical Islam, is inviting the end of life and freedom as we now know it.And the same goes for all western countries.
Saudi Government Provided Aid to 9/11 Hijackers, Sources Say, here and here
WASHINGTON - The 27 classified pages of a congressional report about Sept. 11 depict a Saudi government that not only provided significant money and aid to the suicide hijackers but also allowed potentially hundreds of millions of dollars to flow to Al Qaeda and other terrorist groups through suspect charities and other fronts, according to sources familiar with the document. One U.S. official who has read the classified section said it describes “very direct, very specific links” between Saudi officials, two of the San Diego-based hijackers and other potential co-conspirators “that cannot be passed off as rogue, isolated or coincidental.”

The Australian on Saudi efforts to spread hardline Islam Down Under notes $90 billion in petrodollars invested in expanding the Umma worldwide. Sometimes accompanied by assaults on traditional western freedoms, as in this case in Boston, for example.

The Saudis have so far gotten a free ride on September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. Perhaps George W. Bush knows something the rest of us don't know about the Saudis -- perhaps they are working in some way to help us in the war against Islamic terror. However, allowing the radical Wahhabist teachings to spread across the western world, specifically our beloved United States of America -- is asking for more trouble than our Left-leaning politicians can handle.
It's time my friends to spread the word, write your politicians, tell your friends, and don't believe that this Saudi money is for innocent 'education' of Muslims here in the US or Australia. Don't believe it.

They weren't exactly "silenced" on PBS. They're ranting away against an alleged American dictator crushing civil liberties, with taxpayers footing the bill. Instapundit posted in survialism, perhaps we need to expand that to the Saudi threat:
FROM THE BBC, a look at the new survivalism: It's not just for deranged loners and religious cults anymore! This story has already been addressed here, and here. But I'm happy to see these ideas get more attention. Everybody's better off with some emergency skills and supplies, just in case. You don't need a bunker, but more of what Massad Ayoob calls "soft survivalism."

The Saudis are not our friends.

Great post. Lots of excellent research. Many thanks.
I can't stomach the fact that Bush held hands with that Saudi prince. How better to toady to a debased family and nation?

OLD ATLANTIC: Thank you. I read your article, had a couple tips in email from others. It seems the Saudis are getting a free pass. Unfortunately.

Debbie great round up of material and thanks for including me. Good insight Keven. The Saudis outsource terrorism to keep their hands clean, in Bush's eyes.

David: I don't get Bush's relationship with the Saudis. If we could drill here of our own shores and in Anwar, we would not need the Saudis or any other Middle Eastern oil.
Kevin: Good point, it is still terrorism, just coming at us in a different way.

2 things:
1. I am still waiting for GWB to stop hand-holding with the Saudis and keep his pledge made a few days after 9/11 to go after ANY state that sponsors terrorism.
2. We spend a trillion bucks in the Middle East on oil. Half that amount spent here could make the U.S. energy self-sufficient. Where's the sense in funding our enemies and NOT taking care of our needs?
Obviously, dealing with each of these issues will take some politicians with more brains and *cough* balls and moral fiber than those we now have.
And it will require more Americans to stand up to our political masters and say, "Shut up. Sit down. And listen: America comes first. Get it right or get GONE."

I agree Debbie, The House of Saud uses terrorism the same way Europeans used privateers in the 18th century. Using them to attack the enemy while carefully keeping their distance.
