Hispanics, Whites, Blacks Compared in Survey
"Hispanic high school students use drugs and attempt suicide at higher rates than their black or white classmates, ... black and white students are reporting less sexual activity than in years past, but there was no decline among Hispanics .... Hispanic students were more likely than either blacks or whites to attempt suicide, ride with a driver who had been drinking alcohol, or use cocaine, heroin or ecstasy. .... Hispanics also most often drank alcohol on school property, were offered or sold illegal drugs ....
The above is from CNN quoting from a 2007 survey by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The reason given for the difference in Hispanics, Blacks and Whites, is the schools they attend.
Experts were unable to come up with an explanation for why Hispanic behavior trends differed. However, they speculated that school environments many Hispanics face may differ considerably from what adolescents of other races encounter. Earlier research found that Hispanics and blacks more commonly attend highly segregated schools than whites or Asians.
"There's tremendous segregation in our schools," said Howell Wechsler, director of adolescent and school health for the CDC. He said he was very troubled Hispanic teens had not improved in certain risk areas at the same rate as blacks and whites.
The finding comes from a survey of about 14,000 U.S. high school students that has been conducted every other year since 1991.
Questionnaires go to students in grades 9-12 in public and private high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Researchers got parental permission for each student who participated.
I fail to see if any distinction is made between legal and illegal Hispanics in the study. I think this would be a relevant fact to consider. You can go read it all, but I fail to see what good will come from the survey. It seems a new survey is taken each year, the results published, but I don't see where any actions are taken as a result.

I believe this is awful. You cannot say you do not care for Sen. Obama because of x, y, and z. You cannot call and African American, black, but they can call you white.
Latinos can insult Americans calling us gringos (whites) but dare we call them the slang word for Latino.
Diversity Police? Pffffffffft! These are the very agendas that America.
Who needs a terrorist? We are our own worst enemy. Like crabs in a bucket dragging each other down so no on can get out!

Why is there segregation in the schools, it sounds like the diversity police need to be hauled in. No wait they're too busy beating white folks into submission. Minorities who could really use their help will just have to wait.
