Today Barack Obama called the situation in Afghanistan "precarious and urgent" after meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai. Obama's whirlwind tour of the Middle East and Europe has so far produced nothing new from the presidential candidate. Obama is still calling for an immediate withdrawal of troops in Iraq. Obama did praise the troops: "To see young people like this who are doing such excellent work, with so much dedication ... it makes you feel good about the country," Obama said.
Afghanistan is also the No. 1 front in the war on terrorism and Washington needs to "finish the job" begun there after the September 11 attacks when U.S.-led and Afghan forces ousted the Islamist Taliban, the Democratic U.S. senator said in a television interview.
"We have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent .... and I believe this has to be the central focus, the central front, in the battle against terrorism," Obama told the CBS television program "Face the Nation" while in Afghanistan. (more)
President George W. Bush's top military adviser, Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Sunday setting an unconditional two-year timetable for getting U.S. troops out of Iraq in two years would be dangerous.
Yesterday the media rushed [foaming at the mouth with glee] to the microphones to announce that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki AGREED with Obama's plan to pull troops out within sixteen months. But that wasn't exactly true:
The government's official spokesman, Ali al-Dabbagh, said that Maliki's words had been misunderstood and mistranslated and were not conveyed accurately. Al-Dabbagh explained that Mr. al-Maliki confirmed the existence of an Iraqi vision stems from the reality with regard to Iraq security needs, as the positive developments of the security situation and the improvement witnessed in Iraqi cities makes the subject of U.S. forces' withdrawal within prospects, horizons, and timetables agreed upon and in the light of the continuing positive developments on the ground. You can read CBS reporter Lara Logan's interview with Obama here, don't expect anything new.
I'm wondering what Barack Obama has to say about the at least eight women and one man who are reported to have been sentenced to death by stoning in Iran, after being convicted of adultery and sex offenses.
I'm also still waiting to hear from Obama on the hostages that were freed by Columbia and the hostages still being held by FARC 'terrorists'. Also where does he stand on the Columbian trade agreement?
I'm waiting for the MSM to scrounge around in Iraq or Afghanistan, until they find a couple of military people who are Obama supporters. I remember reading (can't remember where), a personal letter from a soldier, telling how the media cherry picked the only two Bush haters, and interviewed them, rather than interviewing any number of the majority who do support Bush.
Just for fun, from Chuck Muth:
SURVEY SAYS!
Here are the results of our latest online survey. The question was: “If there was no Democrat on the ballot this November for president, who would you be most inclined to vote for?”
Bob Barr (Libertarian) - 46%
John McCain (Republican) - 23%
Someone Else - 14%
Chuck Baldwin (Constitution) - 12%
I’d stay home and not vote - 4%
Ralph Nader (Independent) - 1%

Wow, I know the survey is for fun and is dated, but it scares me that so many would choose to stay home rather than vote. The impact of this election will be huge. I hope thinking has changed in this area.
Thanks,
David

It's obvious that you did not check the references. I quoted Fox once, I also quoted:
Reuters (twice)
MSNBC
CBS (twice)
Care to say, "I'm sorry?"
Oh well, sticks and stones ...

Maybe if you Fox Network junkies would read the real news occassionaly you might find how stilted and bigoted it is.
The sad thing is that most of you poor people are too busy listening to news about Britany and Madonna.

Debbie as an after thought did you happen to see how the media is surrounding him like he some sort of hollyweird stat? He really is making me sick!

Obama is such a liar and a fraud just like the MSM traveling brigade he took along with him.
Fox News reported today that Maliki never agreed to a 16 mo. pullout like Couric et al exaggerated.
What liars the whole bunch are. Pathetic!
