Some people are just nuts, mean, or both
I have not commented until now on the church shooting at Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville Tennessee. I wanted to wait for the facts, so here they are:
The shooter, Jim Adkisson, 58, was unable to find a job and blamed liberals and gays, and upset because his allotment of government-issued food stamps had been reduced. The church has an openly liberal attitude toward matters, specifically gays.
There is no rational connection to this church and his inability to get a job or his reduction in food stamps. In fact, it seems strange that he would attack a liberal church, since liberals are the ones who claim to be socially concerned and want to have control over individual incomes and redistribute that money to the less fortunate.
Sometimes people are just mean, nuts, whatever ... and their excuse for killing innocent human beings is just that ... an excuse.
God bless the man who used his own body as a shield to protect others -- Greg McKendry, 60.

Such a tragedy. The husband and I were members of a U-U church when we married. We enjoyed the minister and her sermons. The congregation was very casual and laid-back. But, it wasn't political. Thoughts of all places on the spectrum were encouraged.

The Fever Swamp otherwise known as DU is full of kiddies that are blaming Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and "Reich-Wing hate radio".
Something tells me, it just isn't going to be the adolescents at DU that will join in beating that drum.

Imagine that...asking for handouts.

Apparently, the shooter got the idea from someone or some political party that he was entitled to government handouts and that someone else was getting his share.
Regardless, this is a sad situation for all involved.

Like so many today who take no responsibility for their own predicament. Sadly, it appears this man tried to hold everyone but himself accountable for his sorry life.
