Yesterday I posted about Muslim Americans for Obama '08 desiring what a reader called Sharia-lite here in the United States. It seems Barack Obama has been "Lecturing Europe While Accepting the Social Structure of Brutality" here in the US. From the New Media Journal:
New York Times columnist David Brooks recently wrote, “The reason we have a democracy is that no one side is right all the time. The only people who are dangerous are those who can’t admit, even to themselves, that obvious fact.” Aside from the glaring error in his declaration that we live in a democracy (the United States is actually a Democratic Republic, not a democracy) his assertion is spot on. In light of the logic in Mr. Brook’s statement, it would seem that the woman slated to be Barack Obama’s “Muslim liaison” is dangerous, especially to women.
While Barack Obama was lecturing tens of thousands of Germans during his “fact-finding tour” – interesting that he declared he was going to the Middle East and Europe to “listen” and ends up pontificating – his campaign created the position of “Muslim Liaison;” a position meant to serve as a conduit between his campaign and the Muslim community. Presumably, this position was created because his campaign realized that their Islamophobia (he has yet to address a Muslim forum or talk at a Mosque) was incredibly hypocritical and served to disenfranchise and discriminate against the American-Muslim community.
The likely candidate for this position is Hiam Nawas, a Jordanian-American who served in a similar capacity for the ill-fated 2004 presidential campaign of aspiring politician Wesley Clark (interestingly, for someone who served in a recent presidential campaign the Internet is stunningly devoid of any substantial biographical information on Ms. Nawas).
One of the things we do know about Ms. Nawas is that she has a fairly nonchalant and cavalier attitude regarding the plight of women in the Islamic culture.
In 2005, Nawas wrote that the Bush Administration should “nuance” its approach toward addressing the cruelty and barbarity women face in the Islamic culture:
"We need to recognize that the social structure in the Muslim world is very different from America's...American women need to understand that what is best for them is not necessarily what is best for Muslim women. Advocacy of women’s rights in the Muslim world must show sensitivity to local political realities." (continue reading)
Ms. Nawas is correct when she states, "the social structure in the Muslim world is very different from America's". We want to KEEP it that way. America's social structure is not made for Sharia law, for multiple wives, for honor killings, arranged marriages, etc.
This begs the question about Barack Obama: Is he willing to call for a breaking down of walls that Muslims in the United States are erecting? As I've said before, many do not want to integrate into the American social structure. They use lawsuits, intimidation, the ACLU, religious freedom, crys of "racism", and anything else they think will force the US to adapt to THEIR social structure.
Frank Salvato continues:
As I outlined in a prior article, Women in Islam: Suffering the Barbary of an Ideology, the treatment of women in Islamic society can only be defined as barbaric. While there are some locations throughout the Muslim World that are making strides toward rectifying this situation – Saudi Arabia is allowing women to drive now – this is overwhelmingly the exception rather than the rule.
And while Ms. Nawas is readying herself to espouse her indifference to the plight of Muslim women in the name of Barack Obama’s candidacy, she does so intimating that the problem of Islamic cultural inequity toward women is a malady removed from American soil. This notion is a falsehood of the highest order. Honor killings are taking place right here on American soil. [snip]
” Muslim women are dying, both overseas and on American soil, and Ms. Nawas believes we should “nuance our approach” so as not to offend those maintaining the despotic culture.
As Barack Obama finished his “fact-finding tour” speech (really, who goes on a fact-finding trip and has the audacity to stage a speech for tens of thousands) he proclaimed:
"This is the moment we must help answer the call for a new dawn in the Middle East."
It would seem that Barack Obama’s idea of a “new dawn” for women trapped in the Islamic culture – in light of his pick for liaison to the Muslim community – is one that includes a “nuanced approach” to the brutality the Islamic culture inflicts on women each and every day. I’m sure tossing them that bone will win him votes...cast right before they find themselves in pools of their own blood for having had the audacity to vote; for having had the “audacity of hope.”
For a presidential candidate who wants to be all things to all people -- I believe he will end up being nothing to no one. He's a mouthpiece for those political movers and shakers behind him. His lofty rhetoric won't hold the attention of Americans forever. There must be some substance. His connections, friends, campaign workers all reflect on Obama the man -- and he comes up lacking, in my opinion.

The Mindset of the Madman of Iran

For those do not know much about the apocalyptic President of Iran, he is a true believer of Islam. He is awaiting for the return of the Mahdi (the 12th Imam) who went missing in the 9th century. For him to return there has to be world chaos with blood running on the planet. The President of Iran has already been making preparations for the Mahdi's return. SAN FRANCISCO - A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage against an Islamic civil rights group over its use of a portion of his show in which he called the Quran a "book of hate."For the rest....

Hi Debbie, I sent you a trackback last night because I mentioned you in an article but I do not think you got it. I sent it to the post prior to this one, sigh... LOL! Anyhow I mentioned you in my posting here, thought you would like to read what I wrote about you:

Now as for women's rights in Islam, basically women have none. Mostly they have laws and rules thy must follow and be subserviant to all men. It truly is pathetic. Where are all the women's rights groups decrying about this?

For anyone who loves freedom, the defeat of the Savage lawsuit is a cause for celebration.
Savage hookwinked us all by telling us that this lawsuit was a cause for free speech. Yeah, it was about free speech but it was CAIR's free speech that was being infringed, not Savage's. Indeed, if Savage had prevailed, first amendment rights would have lessened for all of us.
America is such a great country that we even extend free speech to questionable organisations like CAIR.
Michael Savage is an ENEMY of free speech:

Great article!
In every Muslim nation the level of illiteracy, poverty and disease is high. The Great Pedophile was pleased that he was illiterate and extolled his followers to be the same.
The Muslim community in every Civilized nation is always the poorest in the land. They are the least educated, non-working, disease ridden people. Dearborne, MI once had a great High School graduation rate, now has one of the lowest in the nation. Why? Because Islam discourages learning.
The plight of women in Muslim nations will not be on any feminist's agenda. They are too afraid of being called Islamophobics. Nor will it ever be on the agendas of any nation in the Civilized world for that reason.
It is strange that the richest nations in the world have the lowest standard of living, lowest literacy rates, highest infant mortality, highest rate of women's mortality and lowest life expectancy.
This is what Muslims want to give to all of us.

"American women need to understand that what is best for them is not necessarily what is best for Muslim women."
Really? How I wonder are our notoriously noncommittal and shamefully silent women's advocacy groups going to respond to this latest threat against women's rights from Islam?
Will American women's groups and publications finally start pushing back?
Could there be any more crucial cause for women right now?
We've got our own courageous women bloggers, who have been fighting this fight for years, but what about NOW, what about Ms.?Are they finally going to come out of the closet?
We certainly need them now.
the world needs them now.
Great article Deb. Frightening and shocking article.
