Problems loading Right Truth caused by Internet Explorer -- GET FIREFOX
I understand readers have been having problems getting Right Truth to load properly last night and this morning. Most of you having problems were using Internet Explorer, rather than Firefox. I had many emails from other bloggers saying the problem was Site Meter, but I understand now that is NOT the problem. The problem is with Internet Explorer.
A recently linked post from Walls of the City clued me into a misconception making the rounds (yeh, I’ve had emails about it since). Sitemeter is not “down” nor does having the Sitemeter code on ones blog keep folks from viewing your page… unless those folks are using the least standards-compliant browser available, Internet Exploder.
Sitemeter and Sitemeter code on a blog page pose NO PROBLEM for folks using a browser that at least makes a good faith attempt at standards-compliance. I know, because I checked with three other browsers (in two different OSes) and had NO PROBLEMS either with Sitemeter itself or with blogs with active Sitemeter code. The solution is to download FIREFOX -- FREE and it only takes about two minutes -- and stop using Internet Explorer. Security is better with Fire Fox, browsing much easier, quicker. You will love it.
Texas Fred says:
This is a network wide and not just isolated to any particular blog. If you can access your blog thru a back door, or with Firefox, disable or remove Site Meter temporarily, otherwise every user on the net with Internet Explorer will get an error message.
So if you use Internet Explorer you will get an error message. Please try Firefox.

Yes Fred, you are correct. I got on line late, had so many emails with complaints and explanations, I posted what I thought I knew at the time. I'm just glad it got worked out.
Anyone who knows me know that I don't have one technical bone in my body, so I have to rely on the words and advice of those who supposedly know.
Thanks my friend,
Debbie

It was NOT caused by IE, it was caused by a coding error made by Site Meter and their adaption to IE...
I know a lot of Fire Fox folks are using this to blast IE, but you are ALL being very disingenuous...

I believe Texas Fred is correct Debbie, but I have always used Firefox because it is so much more versatile than IE and much more dependable - and the security of Firefox is incredibly better.
Download FF - it is the best and so much fun too and the themes are great and so are the plugins.
