Tyson’s pandering to Somali’s at Shelbyville, Tn plant (UPDATED)

I'm late getting to this and many other bloggers have already posted on it.  But in case you missed it, here's the news from Toni at Bear Creek Ledger:

Tyson drops Labor Day holiday for Eid al-Fitr

Workers at Tyson Foods’ poultry processing plant in Shelbyville will no longer have a paid day off on Labor Day, but will instead take the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr in the fall.

A recent press release from the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) stated that a new contract at the Shelbyville facility “implements a new holiday to accommodate the … Muslim workers at the plant.”

The RWDSU stated that “the five-year contract creates an additional paid holiday, Iidal Fitil, a Muslim holiday that occurs toward the end of Ramadan.”

“The date for this holiday (Eid al-Fitr) is not the same each year,” Mickelson said. “however, it is in the early fall.”

The press release stated there are approximatly 700 Muslims working at Tyson, but Mickelson said that Somalis only represent approximately 250 of the 1,200 employed at the plant, a little over 20 percent of the workforce.

“All Team Members who have completed their probationary period are eligible for all eight paid holidays including Eid al-Fitr,” the Tyson spokeman said.

The union also claimed that in addition to the observance of the Muslim holiday, “two prayer rooms have been created to allow Muslim workers to pray twice a day and return to work without leaving the plant.”

Mickelson said that Shelbyville’s Tyson plant “does have a prayer room to accommodate the needs of Muslim Team Members.”

Look out Shelbyville, you could turn into the Twin Cities in Minnesota. The Somali’s have a very active legal advocate system and they use it to advance their extremist culture. Don’t expect the Somali’s to assimilate to American culture. They will use our laws to make money and then sue to advance their own Islamist ways.

Target of course bowed to political correctness and established a policy allowing a Muslim cashier to call in a replacement. The creeping Dhimmitude in the Twin Cities is well established. With Tyson importing Somali’s to work in their plants in Shelbyville expect the Somali population to expand quickly.

We as consumers can do many things. Firstly contact Tyson and tell them you are unhappy with this decision of theirs. Their address is:

Tell them that you plan on boycotting their foods and will join in with this National boycott of their products. And then do not buy Tyson products, go to a restaurant that serves Tyson products, etc...

we in india also face the same situation as USA. Recently in 23 separate bomb blast in the city of Ahmedabad 89 people were killed and hundreds lay fataly injured, an act of islami jehad. A muslim organisation named indian mujahidin claimed the responsibility of this ‘glorious’ act. The severity is that, out of these 23 blasts the last five happened near the emergency and trauma centres of five main government hospitals just to make it more agonizing for all those who are injured but still have a chance of survival and to cause a fatal blow to all those including doctors who are in the service of the injured. Among those killed, 12 were children between the age of 2 to 8 years. Such brutal and barbaric acts are conducted by muslims all over the world and still they want us to respect their religion (such a joke). Muslims feed and prosper on sympathy and acceptance given by different countries just in turn to cause those countries a sever damage. They dont believe in patriotism they are loyal only to their mullahs, mosques and islam not to the countries they live in. the shrewdness of muslims is that in open broad daylight they will take of secularism and even denounce the act of terrorism saying that “These terrorist have no religion and they distort the image of islam” but this same muslims can be seen listening with great zeal the lectures of fundamentalist mullahs in the mosques after friday prayers. Therefore this double standards of these psuedo secular muslims make it very difficult to recognize the very few good muslims that might be existent in this world.

christians or westerners do not seem to have any problems with anybody belonging to any faith except muslims. In India also we have a large number of christians in addition to other moderate portion of population belonging to other faiths like sikhism, jainism, budhism,persians, jews etc. but the majority of the hindus never ever had any conflict or problems with these minority population. we and christians live in great harmony, but it is the muslims who always hold vengeance against the majority hindus. The root of the Problem i think lies in their inability to localize themselves and give up the arabian culture which is an inseparable part of islam.

It is now a widely known fact that muslims today hail and appreciate Adolf Hitler for his act of mass massacre of jews. Hitler has given his reasons for this which reveals his anti-Semitic racial psychology. Attempt of ethinc cleansing of jews was a same for entire europe, Just imagine the agony of a group of people who know beforehand that they are going to die. we all except the jews cant describe this feeling because we or our forefathers havent been through this pain. By hailing Hitler Muslims have revealed their violent and barbaric mentality. As far as the issue of Isreal and Palestine is concerned then i would like to say that Jews have bought thousands of hactres of land around deganiah (the first very tiny jewish settlement)containing only twenty jewish men and women. What you see as isreal today is mostly built on barren lands that were legally purchased by jewish national fund & zionist organisation, jews from all over the world donated every single penny for acquiring their homeland. Jews have suffered with nostalgia for centuries before they found israel. It is the jews who struggled for years and turned the barren lands of Deganiah, Afula, Nahalal & Ramalla into productive farms. Upon seeing the development and intelligence of jews the arabs now want their land back for which they were paid (so ridiculous). Further if now the muslims hate Israel and project jews as tyrants and talk about Human rights, then i would like to say that where were they and where were all the human right activists when Egypt, Syria and Jordan suddenly without warning attacked Israel in 1967 and again in 1973 (The Yom Kippur war, Yom Kippur is the most sacred day in Jewish Calendar, and therefore a planned attack by Egypt, Syria and Jordan on Israel on this day manifest their wicked and perverted Psychology) Please note that the world was not with Israel at that time, it had to fight and defend it territory on its own with whatever means they had. My message to Muslims is that you roughed up Israel, you attacked their kibbutz very often as marauders you gathered in large numbers to threaten isreal and so If you feel that Israel is a tyrant then it is you who have made it a tyrant. As far as the holiday, they should get Eid as soon as it becomes a federal holiday -- like all the rest. The point about Yom Kippur, Hannakuh, etc, was an excellent analogy.

The Union lied. Tyson denied it - it is not an additional paid holiday. The workers lose the first Monday in September to "holiday" on whatever day the Muslim holiday is deemed due.

I posted at Monkey in the Middle the address you can write to at Tyson to protest this and support a boycott of their products.

Companies like Tyson only understand the bottom line. If everyone boycotts their products, they will take notice.
