In spite of vile attacks from the Left, Conservatives and Republicans are rallying around John McCain and Sarah Palin. Campaign donations are flooding in and workers are volunteering faster than they can be put to work. The attacks on Sarah Palin are now being fought from the top of the campaign to the smallest neighborhood in America. In short: This has become a fight between Obama and Palin, rather than Obama and McCain.
Pundits are comparing Barack Obama's experience, history, pastors, morals, family ... to those of Sarah Palin. Obama comes up wanting in each and every category. Are people excited to hear Obama speeches any more? Not like in the beginning. Are people excited about hearing John McCain's speech Thursday night? Not so much. BUT, Sarah Palin's speech, that's a different story. EVERYBODY wants to hear what she has to say.
A Tale of Two Résumés - In truth, Sarah Palin is the kind of employee virtually every enterprise seeks--the kind who gets things done. And Barack Obama is the kind of employee a company hires only when it's in the mood for taking a risk and willing to wager that the candidate's past performance isn't predictive of his future efforts.
Obama vs. Palin, by Gerard Baker via Slant Right,
Political experience
Obama: Worked his way to the top by cultivating, pandering to and stroking the most powerful interest groups in the all-pervasive Chicago political machine, ensuring his views were aligned with the power brokers there.
Palin: Worked her way to the top by challenging, attacking and actively undermining the Republican party establishment in her native Alaska. She ran against incumbent Republicans as a candidate willing and able to clean the Augean Stables of her state's government.
Political Biography
Obama: A classic, if unusually talented, greasy-pole climber. Held a succession of jobs that constitute the standard route to the top in his party's internal politics: "community organizer", law professor, state senator.
Palin:A woman with a wide range of interests in a well-variegated life. Held a succession of jobs - sports journalist, commercial fisherwoman, state oil and gas commissioner, before entering local politics. A resume that suggests something other than burning political ambition from the cradle but rather the sort of experience that enables her to understand the concerns of most Americans..
Political history
Obama: Elected to statewide office only after a disastrous first run for a congressional seat and after his Republican opponent was exposed in a sexual scandal. Won seat eventually in contest against a candidate who didn't even live in the state.
Palin: Elected to statewide office by challenging a
long-serving Republican incumbent governor despite intense opposition
from the party. (continue reading)

Candidate Got Funding for Nursing Program
By James V. Grimaldi and Kimberly Kindy

Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago.

And while we're talking about smears, there's a new blog up and running devoted to debunking and exposing the attempts to denigrate Gov. Palin. Check it out when you get a chance.
Stop Smearing Sarah
I hope this NPR article will be added to the Stop Smearing Sarah website. Contrary to the author's statements that there is a 'drip drip drip' of 'verified revelations' against Sarah Palin, thee is nothing that was not revealed to John McCain and his vetting committee months ago. The truth is, the Left WISHES there was something, anything, that they could use to reverse the rocket-like thrust of the Conservatives and Republicans behind Mccain - Palin.
The Left complains about Sarah Palin's lack of experience. Wow, have they looked in Barack Obama's mirror lately? What do they see? Any experience there??? Nope, zip, nada. George F. Will writes:
Mr. Will surely realizes that experience comes in many forms, but I'm not sure campaigning for President qualifies as experience. Sarah Palin has more experience in leadership than Obama, or Joe Biden, or McCain all combined (Rush Limbaugh). She knows and has had more experience with oil companies than all three combined.
On experience, via Kender:
McCain: If Obama had as much experience as Ms. Palin, he’d be ready for the VP slot, too.
So Obama DEFENDS his experience, Michelle Malkin says: "Even he doesn’t sound like he believes himself anymore."
The Statesman states that "many wonder how the governor can govern while juggling so many personal and family issues." Has anyone ever, EVER, asked that question about a male candidate for any office? This proves once again, the Democrats are the party of racism and sexism, and the truly equal opportunity party is the Republican Parth. One must ask, "Is this all the Left has?" If so, then bring it on.
It's also obvious why Obama and Biden said that 'children are off limits', since Biden's daughter was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar after throwing a bottle at an officer. Obama and Biden can take the high road, since the far left blogs seem to be doing their dirty work for them.
From - Paul Weyrich of the Free Congress Foundation :
“Palin’s selection highlights McCain as a political gambler. It will be difficult to picture him as a demented old man who is out of it. This puts him on the top of his game. Next, her selection excites McCain’s base. That was absolutely necessary if he were to have a strong shot at election. The selection of a pro-abortionist, such as Governor Thomas (Tom) Ridge, would have caused a Convention floor revolt. Even the selection of former Governor Mitt Romney would have caused problems with some Evangelicals. Choice of (Minnesota Gov. Tim) Pawlenty, while generally acceptable, would have generated a yawn in political circles.”
On the Biden - Palin debates:
If you've any doubts as to "Saracuda's" ability to hold her own against Joe Biden in a debate, check out this video of her debate in the 2006 campaign for governor against Tony Knowles - a then popular two term governor of the state of Alaska.
From Newsbusters: CBS Evening News has been the most aggressive in besmirching Sarah Palin
From - Columnist Paul Chesser :
“Before McCain's decision many on the Right (including myself) were alternately ambivalent, disaffected, or outright opposed to the idea of voting for him. After years of nose-thumbing acts by the GOP candidate towards many of his party's colleagues and its base, the temptation for conservatives to register a protest vote (most likely Libertarian Bob Barr) -- or not showing up at all -- was strong.
“However, the Palin pick has overturned the apathy towards McCain, in one swell foop (I've always wanted to write that!), into a Republican ticket that is critical for conservatives to support.
“Why? Because as Fred Barnes wrote in the Wall Street Journal over the weekend, ‘should the McCain-Palin ticket win the election, it will produce a huge change in the party itself. Mrs. Palin would become first in the line of succession to become the next Republican presidential nominee and would usher in a new generation of leaders.’
“That cannot be underestimated. The choice of the Alaskan governor could mean, finally, the elevation of the Tom Coburn/Jim DeMint/John Shadegg reform element of the party over the Ted Stevens/Duke Cunningham/Jerry Lewis old guard.
“But more importantly, it could restore to the GOP the principled and inspired conservatism that has been absent from the two top spots since Ronald Reagan left office in 1989. Recall the last 20 years and sigh: Bush/Quayle, Dole/Kemp, and Bush/Cheney. President George H.W. Bush squandered his inheritance and was never in the Reagan mold. Sen. Robert Dole was the ‘it's his turn’ establishment candidate that did not enthuse. And our current president was not the conservative that his early anointers pretended he was.”
Election 2008: Palin - Perfect!
From Sarge:
Sara is a champion trap shooter and has a nice gun collection of her own. I met Todd at Prudowe Bay where he sometimes works. Sara races in dog sleds and on snow mobiles. She is one tough woman. And they make women in Alaska tough.
She has taken on the oil companies and made them back up and eat crow. She told them what Alaska was going to do, and if they didn't like it she would just cancel their contracts. She got higher taxes on the oil that the oil companies already get tax relief from the Feds. Now Alaska is self sustaining with the tax from oil. All Alaska citizens get a check every year which is from the oil tax. Last year it was over $2,000.
She is pro gun and pro hunting. And talk about good looking. WOW she was a Beauty Queen in college and beat some tough politicians out for their jobs. She is not just a pretty face. This is the best thing that has happened to the Republican party since Reagan.-- Sarge

The Obama campaign and the leftist media that is campaigning for him, have made a mistake by comparing Barack with Sarah. This is a dead end street as people vote for the Presidential nominee and not the VP. There is no doubt that Sarah Palin has energized the Republican ticket but she is not the presidential nominee.

You are all close minded with a lack of character and arrogance. Obama has showned more character, and definitely has more creditials than Palin. Just because she is governor doesn't mean she's doing it right. And when she left her position as mayor she left her city with $7,000 debt.
And her ability to speak with negative attacks on someone's efforts to help the unfortunate is not cute. I would not teach my kids that. Oh but she would teach her kids abstience. Double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

OOOOOOOOOOO - Sarracuda!

Awesome!
Barack is such a communist twit!

There is no comparison between Obama and Palin. Palin has it hands down. The jr flip out of IL is all hype - not substance and or organization and G-d forbid he has to speak without a telepromter. Heh. He falls apart like a two dollar suit.

We are not losers. Obama will go into office and our country will be forever changed. Embrace this and become part of the movement. VOTE 4 OBAMA

Bob McCarty just ran a story about some doofus from Philadelphia with an Islamofascist name (or Michelle Oblahblah in drag), claiming that if Obama is defeated in November, there's gonna be a "race war". Implication: we'd better vote for Oblahblah, if we know what's good for us.
Pearl Harbor and September 11, 2001, didn't teach the idiot Leftists a thing about how the average American reacts to threats and intimidation. It might work within a poorly-educated union, where the thugs keep members in line with threats and intimidation, but trying it against the nation at large, is a huge miscalculation and loser in November.
Just ask the Taliban and Al Qaida.

Great read Debbie!
I'm never surprised or shocked at the depths the left will sink to when they spew their hate and lies about somebody they dislike.
Most of the time it is just laughable.
The DemocRats are a bunch of losers.
