Barack Obama vs Sarah Palin

In spite of vile attacks from the Left, Conservatives and Republicans are rallying around John McCain and Sarah Palin.  Campaign donations are flooding in and workers are volunteering faster than they can be put to work.  The attacks on Sarah Palin are now being fought from the top of the campaign to the smallest neighborhood in America.  In short:  This has become a fight between Obama and Palin, rather than Obama and McCain. 

Pundits are comparing Barack Obama's experience, history, pastors, morals, family ... to those of Sarah Palin.  Obama comes up wanting in each and every category.  Are people excited to hear Obama speeches any more?  Not like in the beginning.  Are people excited about hearing John McCain's speech Thursday night?  Not so much.  BUT, Sarah Palin's speech, that's a different story.   EVERYBODY wants to hear what she has to say.

Stop Smearing Sarah

I hope this NPR article will be added to the Stop Smearing Sarah website.  Contrary to the author's statements that there is a 'drip drip drip' of 'verified revelations' against Sarah Palin, thee is nothing that was not revealed to John McCain and his vetting committee months ago.  The truth is, the Left WISHES there was something, anything, that they could use to reverse the rocket-like thrust of the Conservatives and Republicans behind Mccain - Palin.

The Left complains about Sarah Palin's lack of experience.  Wow,  have they looked in Barack Obama's mirror lately?  What do they see?  Any experience there???  Nope, zip, nada.  George F. Will writes:

The word "experience" appears 91 times in the Federalist Papers, those distillations of conservative sense and sensibility. Madison, Hamilton and Jay said that truths are "taught" and "corroborated" by experience. These writers were eager to "consult" and be "led" by experience. They spoke of "indubitable" and "unequivocal" lessons from experience, the "testimony" of experience and "the accumulated experience of ages." "Accumulating" experience is "the parent of wisdom" and a "guide" that "justifies," "confirms" and can "admonish." America's Founders were empiricists and students of history who trusted "that best oracle of wisdom, experience," which is humanity's "least fallible guide."

Mr. Will surely realizes that experience comes in many forms, but I'm not sure campaigning for President qualifies as experience.  Sarah Palin has more experience in leadership than Obama, or Joe Biden, or McCain all combined  (Rush Limbaugh).  She knows and has had more experience with oil companies than all three combined.  

On experience, via Kender:

Reporter: MR. McCain, how do you respond to charges that Palin has no experience?

McCain: If Obama had as much experience as Ms. Palin, he’d be ready for the VP slot, too.

So Obama DEFENDS his experience, Michelle Malkin says:  "Even he doesn’t sound like he believes himself anymore."

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

 

 The Statesman states that "many wonder how the governor can govern while juggling so many personal and family issues."   Has anyone ever, EVER, asked that question about a male candidate for any office?  This proves once again, the Democrats are the party of racism and sexism, and the truly equal opportunity party is the Republican Parth.  One must ask, "Is this all the Left has?"  If so, then bring it on.

It's also obvious why Obama and Biden said that 'children are off limits', since Biden's daughter was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar after throwing a bottle at an officer.  Obama and Biden can take the high road, since the far left blogs seem to be doing their dirty work for them.

“Palin’s selection highlights McCain as a political gambler.  It will be difficult to picture him as a demented old man who is out of it.  This puts him on the top of his game.  Next, her selection excites McCain’s base.   That was absolutely necessary if he were to have a strong shot at election.  The selection of a pro-abortionist, such as Governor Thomas (Tom) Ridge, would have caused a Convention floor revolt.  Even the selection of former Governor Mitt Romney would have caused problems with some Evangelicals.  Choice of (Minnesota Gov. Tim) Pawlenty, while generally acceptable, would have generated a yawn in political circles.”

Election 2008:  Palin - Perfect!

John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate is brilliant. Her individualism matches McCain's. But it's the new strengths she brings to the ticket that make the team formidable.

Linda told me the pick for Republican VP.   As many of you know I spent a year up in Alaska working on the pipe line.   And I read about Sara every day in the papers.   She is quite the woman.   Her husband Todd, is a great guy, half Alaskan Indian and a real outdoorsman.   And Sara herself is right there with him. The whole family hunts and fishes.

Sara is a champion trap shooter and has a nice gun collection of her own.   I met Todd at Prudowe Bay where he sometimes works.   Sara races in dog sleds and on snow mobiles.   She is one tough woman.   And they make women in Alaska tough.

She has taken on the oil companies and made them back up and eat crow.   She told them what Alaska was going to do, and if they didn't like it she would just cancel their contracts. She got higher taxes on the oil that the oil companies already get tax relief from the Feds.   Now Alaska is self sustaining with the tax from oil.   All Alaska citizens get a check every year which is from the oil tax.   Last year it was over $2,000.

She is pro gun and pro hunting. And talk about good looking. WOW  she was a Beauty Queen in college and beat some tough politicians out for their jobs.   She is not just a pretty face.  This is the best thing that has happened to the Republican party since Reagan.-- Sarge

Surprise for the Convention:

BRISTOL PALIN'S FIANCE, AND THE FATHER OF HER BABY, is coming to the Republican Convention. I get the feeling that the Republicans are actually happy to engage this issue.

This is a dead end street as people vote for the Presidential nominee and not the VP. There is no doubt that Sarah Palin has energized the Republican ticket but she is not the presidential nominee.

You are all close minded with a lack of character and arrogance. Obama has showned more character, and definitely has more creditials than Palin. Just because she is governor doesn't mean she's doing it right. And when she left her position as mayor she left her city with $7,000 debt.
And her ability to speak with negative attacks on someone's efforts to help the unfortunate is not cute. I would not teach my kids that. Oh but she would teach her kids abstience. Double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

It might work within a poorly-educated union, where the thugs keep members in line with threats and intimidation, but trying it against the nation at large, is a huge miscalculation and loser in November.
