Let me begin this little rant by saying I am a Christian who supports Israel 100%. Having cleared that up, the radical Left wing Democratic Jews are NUTS and their decision to un-invite Gov. Sarah Palin from the protest of Iran at the United Nations proves they are putting American politics before Israel's safety and the safety of America.
These Democrats/Jews have slapped in the face the ONLY candidates truly behind Israel -- the only candidates that believe Israel has the right to protect herself and the right to have others help in her defense. Gov. Sarah Palin, soon to be Vice President Sarah Palin loves Israel. Sarah Palin, the epitome of American exceptionalism:
Sen. John McCain was tortured for five years and Jewish Democrats cannot stand up to some threatening phone calls from Barack Hussein Obama's campaign.
“Jewish” Democrats Seek to Sabotage Anti-Iran Rally to Help Obama . That's is in one sentence.
McCain and Palin respond:
The McCain camp has issued a statement in the candidate’s name:
Next Monday, the day before Iranian President Ahmadinejad is to speak before the United Nations General Assembly, several organizations will sponsor an event to draw attention to the importance of halting Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. [snip]
Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad’s goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama’s campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest. (YID With LID)
There is much to be learned from this dis-invite of Gov. Sarah Palin, and Rudi Stettner puts it in a nutshell:
There is a basic level of courtesy owed to a guest. Publicly showing disrespect to an invited guest is a serious offense against Jewish law. Sarah Palin was shown great disrespect for no legitimate reason. The embarrassment this causes me as a Jew goes beyond my support for McCain and Palin.
My only consolation in this entire sorry episode is that it reduces the respect accorded organisations that have long been unworthy of any respect. There are Jews in public life in New York who put truth and justice ahead of political expediency. I hope such people will step up to the plate and speak for the disenfranchised majority (continue reading)
What Sen. Hillary Clinton and the National Jewish Democrat Council have done is MAKE this even political. Dr. Phyllis Chesler reports:
A FURTHER NEWSFLASH: The plot thickens but there is a bottom line; there always is. Obama is the one who decided not to send anyone of rank to stand with the Jews who are opposing Amadinejad’s genocidal and nuclear policies. The Jews in charge did not lean on Obama to come himself, (which would have made sense) but instead, no doubt under some unimaginably heavy pressure, dis-invited Palin. What? Allow Palin to take on the Iranian Monster on prime-time TV and win even more votes? New York Jewish votes? Women’s votes? Anything but that.
To cover themselves, the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations now claim to have dis-invited all politicians; too “partisan,” too distracting from the matter at hand. [snip]
NEWSFLASH: The Jewish Telegraphic Agency has just confirmed that Governor Sarah Palin–a strong supporter of Israel–has been disinvited from the rally against President Ahmadinejad. I suggest that my readers call the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations to protest this short-sighted and outrageous decision. Their number is 212-318-6111. [sni]According to spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt, “Governor Palin believes that the danger of a nuclear Iran is greater than party or politics. She hopes that all parties can rally together in opposition to this grave threat.”
According to Israel Today,
Christians have demanded that the UN indict Ahmadinejad over threats to
Israel. (God bless them). A petition signed by 55,000 Christians from
128 nations, demanding the arrest and indictment of the Iranian
President, will be delivered to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon this
week, reported The Jerusalem Post. (continue reading)
From Fern Sidman, highly respected author and defender of Israel in every aspect of her life, contributor of original articles here at Right Truth , and friend of mine , commented here:
Now on to the partisan rancor that is insidiously infecting the campaign to spotlight Islamic extremism; i.e. the upcoming visit of Iranian President Ahmadinejad. The fact that Sen. Clinton has cancelled her appearance at the rally to be held Monday in New York, speaks volumes about the Senator’s ostensible committment to raising a voice against the kind of hatred that can lead to worldwide Jihadist domination. Not to mention, but she also fails her constituency in New York, many of whom are organizers and participants at this rally.
The truth is, it is the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations that needs to be taken to task for acquiescing to the pressure of the National Jewish Democratic Council, whose objectives are quite different from those sponsoring and attending this rally.
The writing is on the walls, if we only choose to read it. The NJDC’s objectives are not to educate the public about the urgency of Iran’s nuclear capabilities and how it effects the free world or it’s very real plan to annihilate Israel, or its continued subjugation of women, homosexuals and politcal dissidents, but rather, they are focused on defeating John McCain at the expense of their own interests.
Poor, stupid Jews. Don’t you folks realize that the only person laughing up his sleeve at all this is the “good” president of Iran himself. Aren’t you cognizant of the fact that your feckless attempts to create discord among those who are united in the fight against all that Ahmadinejad stands for will only come back to bite you in the face, or worse. Haven’t you considered the fact that if G-d forbid, Ahmadinejad conquers Israel and his far reaching tentacles also serve as driving force within the USA and the western world, that you liberal Jews will not escape his wrath.
It’s a horrible shame that the participants at this rally will not be able to hear Gov Sarah Palin’s remarks. It is a shame that this courageous woman who is committed to standing strong against Jihadist domination has been disinvited by those who will need her support. Well, I guess it’s not the first time that Jews have cut their nose despite their face.
Praise and accolades go out to Dr. Chesler for conveying the tragic and heartbreaking story of Soraya M. Perhaps this article should be e-mailed to the NJDC, to Sen. Clinton and the other Jewish functionaries at the Democratic party.
Dr. Chesler is indeed, a lonely voice in the wilderness. Her committment and tenacity in regards to speaking and writing about gender apartheid, honor killings, forced marriages, stonings, and beatings of women around the globe is most admirable considering such “feminists” like Sen. Clinton and others of her ilk can’t even manage to summon up a modicum of courage to do so. Rather, they choose to assume the position of “armchair activists”, sitting back and leveling vitrolic denouncements of Dr. Chesler’s work and her political positions. Thank G-d, Dr. Chesler is not dissuaded by the sheer hypocrisy of her critics and detractors.
If you want to know what Sarah Palin is all about, talk to people who actually KNOW her. That is exactly what this blogger did in his article with a resident of Wasilla Alaska, "Wasilla Remembers Sarah":
To see the depths of the vile hatred against Sarah Palin, read: On Sarah Palin: New Yorkers report being driven to fits of rage and even all-consuming panic, reports John E. Carey of Peace and Freedom '08.

LOOK OUT! IT'S IRAN AGAIN!
You can look forward to another week of distractions… Guaranteed!
It won’t be the economy… Although on Meet The Press, Tom Brokaw will attempt to focus us on the unprecedented steps being taken by the Federal Reserve to stabilize it with his guest, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson...
It won’t be the war in Iraq… Although you may hear a few optimistic sound bites from the handover Ceremony at Camp Victory for LTG Ray Odierno, the new US Commander of US Forces in Iraq, who’s now facing ‘innumerable challenges and tough fights…’
It will be the problem of IRAN once again... Thankfully, Sarah Palin has once more brought Iran to the top of her list of ‘talking points’ as she announced a meeting with President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan during the United Nations General Assembly next week. The news of this meeting came a day after she and other elected officials were disinvited from an anti-Iran rally to be held outside the UN come Monday. Rally organizers are now saying that they will proceed without American political personalities.
Was it only a week ago that we listened to Ms. Palin and Charles Gibson casually chatting about the possibility of a US [or an Israeli!] assault on Iran? Obviously this is something that she knows will get her press attention and something that she knows nothing about but is not afraid to talk about! It's just politics.
Don’t be distracted by any new Iran sideshow [a minor or diverting incident or issue, especially one that distracts attention from something more important]… it’s just 'the politics of distraction from the real issues' once more!

You make a very good point Debbie.
As a jew, I am disgusted to learn that the reason the invitation HAD TO BE WITHDRAWN is due to the threat made by the Obama campaign to reconsider the tax status of the organisers if Obama should become President. So the organisers spoke to the McCain campaign and reported the specific threat. The McCain campaign understood that the threat is very real and they graciously and most amicably let the organisers off the hook.
I am so ashamed at these gutter tactics of the Obama camp. Believe me, there are LOTS of jews who feel the same. It is only a matter of informing them. Let's pray together that Americans finally wake up about this fraudster Obama for he is a fraud from A to Z.
Keep up your good work, I have much admiration for you.

I can’t figure out how to say this without sounding stupid.
But I think it's because the Jews are always for the underdog.

Rick and Baz are morons.
The Oblahblah campaign has denied that they pressured this gathering to withdraw the Palin invitation; and that's a load of dishonest liberal crap. The Oblahblah campaign may have consulted with Bill Clinton, but they haven't learned to lie as smoothly.
Oblahblah is no friend of Israel; his refusal to denounce Iran and Ahmadinejad are proof positive.

Thanks for the comments and kind words ... except for a couple of negative ones.
For those folks they obviously do not know me. I fully support Israel AND the Jewish people.
I've never had a racist thought in my head or heart, and am insulted at the idea.

Excellent post! I am surprised by a comment by Baz that disassociates being Jewish with supporting Israel. That land is an integral part of their religion, and heritidge.
Baz is also uneducated about Conservatives if he or she links us to hate. Baz also does not understand that if you do not support your country after the decision to go to war is made, you ARE unpatriotic.
And Rick seems to think Obama's desire to appease Muslim radicals somehow supports Israel. The origin of this logic is a mystery.
Perhaps the Liberals are right when they cry to improve our public schools.
Finally, Obama campaign's reaction to any publication or rally which goes contrary to their desires reminds me of the thugs, who at the very least, are comparable to the street gangs in our cities, and at the very most, like Hitler's SA.

The name says it all: Barack HUSSEIN Obama. No supporter of Israel but a supporter of those who wish to destroy Israel and the Jewish people.

In this election cycle, all ‘politically correct’ bulls**it needs to be cast aside. If there is any blame to assign in this farce, then it should fall squarely upon the Jewish community which ostensibly arranged this demonstration.
The Jewish community should at least have the wherewithal to find the collective balls to say: “This is our event, and we more than welcome anybody and everybody who is willing to attend, so he/she can give voice to his/her condemnation of Iran.” But no, they bow to these clowns who are intent upon politicizing everything.
It never ceases to amaze me. For 60 years (i.e. since the very foundation of Israel) Republicans have shown themselves prepared to go ‘the last mile’ in support of Jews and the State of Israel, yet Jews insist on voting for Democrats who display nothing but contempt for them.
Sure does make for an interesting psychological analysis, if nothing else.

Great post Debbie. Could not believe HRC would pull out of something so important to her constituents and was doubly shocked when Palin was "disinvited". How rude and how short-sighted.

Just because you allegedly support Israel, doesn't mean you support the Jewish People... two very different things.
Nor, does it mean you're not anti-semitic.
That you lump all Jewish people into a box, "the radical Left wing Democratic Jews are NUTS,"
kind of shows where you're coming from.
It amazes me, all the hate & bile expressed by so-called Christians.
I recommend you read Jesus' teachings at some point, before your hate, totally takes over your being... if it hasn't already.
By the way, ALL politicians
have been disinvited from the NY *event.*
And lastly, you've posted NO actual facts, with regard to Sen Obama's campaign pressuring anyone.
You guys are killing this country, with all your hate.
People on both sides of the aisle, are Patriotic Americans, that have similar desires, needs, etc.
Hating everyone who thinks differently than you, is not what America is about.
Yet, in your mind, I'm sure you're a *great American.*
Wake up already.
We all want what's best for this Country... we only disagree on how to do it.

To poster Rick: Every person on the presidential tickets is pro-Israel? Not hardly. If a candidate's support of Israel doesn't extend any further than the '67 borders or acknowledgement of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel, which by the way, McCain had put in the Republican platform, then there not really supporting Israel. Even the current Olmert government isn't supporting Israel. The people of Israel know this. That's why they want new elections. But Tzipy Livni and her cohorts don't want that cause they know they will get trounced by Likud. And your wrong another point. This was an excellent post.

Rick, Rick, Rick...
Thank you for that wonderfully written rant castigating our author.
(Great post Debbie!)
Tell me, what is racist about using Obamalamadingdong's whole name. He himself promoted the use of it when he was running for the Illinois Senate.
Also, your friends in the left stream media talk about the use of his middle name as a positive.
Grow a pair you linguini wristed liberal. Its his name is it not? Are we not supposed to call a man by his first name if it is Adolph?
Posted by: Aukmuntr | September 19, 2008 at 12:29 PM
In an article about AIPACS decision to shun John Haggee, Caroline Glick wrote, "Hagee has become a victim of liberal American Jewish leaders' decision to place their leftist political preferences above their concern for Israel's survival and for the well-being of American Jewry."-This would seem to be the case in regards to Governor Palin as well. For those interested the name of that article by Glick was "Jews United For Israel's Freinds." You can google it.
Posted by: Amerisrael | September 19, 2008 at 12:19 PM
Stupid article that is obviously written by a racist when she has to state Barack Hussein Obama. Don't give me the crap that is his name. Why isn't it John I do not even know his middle name McCain. Every person who is on the presidential tickets is pro-Israel and the Jewish persons who will vote for Obama are intelligent enough to know this unlike this author of this foolish article.
