Senator Barack Obama has declared war --on everything important to Conservative Americans.

Don't believe me???

Capitalism:  Barack Obama has declared war on capitalism, and capital.

Obama has described his plan to hike taxes as "neighborliness," "patriotism" and "justice." In fact, it's the widest-ranging assault on capital — and those who create it — in at least a generation, possibly longer.

Look at just a few of the things he and congressional Democrats have in mind: Higher taxes on successful entrepreneurs (anyone earning over $250,000), higher taxes on capital gains, higher taxes on dividends, a possible raid on Americans' 401(k)s, a takeover of America's private health care industry, strict new limits on what CEOs can make, and the re imposition of the death tax.

Add it up, and Obama will usher in a new era in America — one where capital, the engine of our economic growth and success, is punished severely through the tax code. If Democrats win a filibuster-proof majority in Congress, it'll be the only form of capital punishment their party will support.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:  Joe Biden experiences some honest uncomfortable questions and war on free speech is declared.  The Obama campaign refused any further contact or interviews with WFTV in Florida after Barbara West asked some questions voters might actually like to hear answers to.  (video)

Personal Responsibility:  Barack Obama has declared war on personal responsibility and plans to turn America into even more of a welfare state than it already is.  His plans will make more Americans dependent on government for their needs and wants.

Look at the "tax cut" he says he'll give to 95 percent of Americans. In fact, this is simply a government check he'd hand out - including to millions who don't pay income taxes, since each year 38 percent of Americans already get a full refund.

In other words, his "rebate" is a welfare plan, plain and simple.

Illegal Immigration:  Barack Obama has declared war on those who want secure borders and only legal citizens of this great country eligible for her benefits.  He wants illegal immigrants inside the United States to be given citizenship.  But before that happens, he wants them eligible for all that America provides, including Social Security.

WAR ON TERROR:  Barack Obama has planned from the beginning to cut and run from Iraq.  He wants to pull the troops our before complete victory is achieved.  Obama even tried to negotiate with the Iraqis against American troops and American interests, and against Iraqi interests:

Obama has not only opposed victory in Iraq, but also has actively worked to undermine it. When he finally met with Iraqi officials in July, he asked them to delay an agreement on a phased withdrawal of American forces based on conditions on the ground.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama said it was in the interests of both sides not to have a long-term security agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the U.S. elections and the formation of a new administrationn in Washington," Zebari said. That would wreck Obama's plan for a quick and dangerous withdrawal.  (IBD, hat tip Common Cents)

AMERICAN SECURITY:  Obama has declared war against the American military.  The fear is that, if Obama wins, US defenses will be emasculated at a time of unprecedented international peril and the enemies of America and the free world will seize their opportunity to destroy the West.

He (John McCain) will defend America and the free world whereas Obama will undermine them and aid their enemies.

Here’s why. McCain believes in protecting and defending America as it is. Obama tells the world he is ashamed of America and wants to change it into something else. McCain stands for American exceptionalism, the belief that American values are superior to tyrannies. Obama stands for the expiation of America’s original sin in oppressing black people, the third world and the poor.

Obama thinks world conflicts are basically the west’s fault, and so it must right the injustices it has inflicted. That’s why he believes in ‘soft power’ — diplomacy, aid, rectifying ‘grievances’ (thus legitimising them, encouraging terror and promoting injustice) and resolving conflict by talking.  As a result, he will take an axe to America’s defenses at the very time when they need to be built up. He has said he will ‘cut investments in unproven missile defense systems’; he will ‘not weaponize space’; he will ‘slow our development of future combat systems’; and he will also ‘not develop nuclear weapons,’ pledging to seek ‘deep cuts’ in America’s arsenal, thus unilaterally disabling its nuclear deterrent as Russia and China engage in massive military buildups.  ( --Melanie Phillips)

AMERICAN CULTURE:  Barack Obama has basically declared war on American culture, in favor of multiculturalism as put forth by the United Nations.   "An informal survey of more than two dozen U.N. staff members and foreign delegates showed that the overwhelming majority would prefer that Sen. Barack Obama win the presidency, saying they think that the Democrat would usher in a new agenda of multilateralism after an era marked by Republican disdain for the world body."  

Conservatives who are skeptical of the United Nations said they are not surprised by the political tilt. “The fact is that most conservatives, most Republicans don’t worship at the altar in New York, and I think that aggravates them more than anything else,” said John R. GUNS - SECOND AMENDMENT:  Barack Obama has been misleading everyone by what he says, but his record proves what he believes.  Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history.  (see here, here)

FREE AND HONEST ELECTIONS:  Using groups like ACORN with long-time connections to Obama, funding by Obama (and friends), the 2008 election may be the first truly stolen election.  Obama wants to take away worker's rights to private votes when it comes to Unions, thus allowing pressure from Union workers and co-workers.  War has basically been declared against one-person -- one-vote in this election.

Well, to be honest, I’ve never much cared for chicken.

McCain vs Obama is not the choice many of us would have liked in an ideal world. But then it’s not an “ideal world”, and the belief that it can be made so is one of the things that separates those who think Obama will “heal the planet” and those of us who support McCain faute de mieux. I agree with Thomas Sowell that an Obama-Pelosi super majority will mark what he calls “a point of no return”. [snip]

Peggy Noonan thinks a President Obama will be like the dog who chases the car and finally catches it: Now what? I think Obama will be content to be King Barack the Benign, Spreader of Wealth and Healer of Planets. His rise is, in many ways, testament to the persistence of the monarchical urge even in a two-century old republic. So the “Now what?” questions will be answered by others, beginning with the liberal super majority in Congress. And as he has done all his life he will take the path of least resistance. An Obama Administration will pitch America toward EU domestic policy and UN foreign policy. Thomas Sowell is right: It would be a “point of no return”, the most explicit repudiation of the animating principles of America. For a vigilant republic of limited government and self-reliant citizens, it would be a Declaration of Dependence.

Does not seem you know much about economics and how Socialists (er..progressives, then again, what is so "progressive about Socialism?) in Congress, through utter incompetence and greed (i.e. kickbacks) forced banks to loan more out to more unstable/unreliable borrowers. Naturally, after banks and other financial institutions jumped on the bandwagon as they saw debt as a moneymaker. Now we have a mess that Real Americans have to cover down on. The same thing happened with the Savings and Loan crisis....but the Socialists gleefully washed their hands of their own involvement.
SO...why do I mention all this here. Well, I hold that our ability to have access to real history or real facts will disappear under a Socialist Regime.

Of course Barack Obama has declared war on everything important to conservatives -- that's the whole idea! A humiliating repudiation of Gingrich (and his ilk) in congress for 10 years, along with the 8 year Bush/Cheney debacle in the WH. Are you saying that the forthcoming electoral bloodbath is somehow surprising to you? Your list sounds like a review of what Goerge Bush and the Republicans have done the last 8 years: they have waged war on capitalism (provoking the largest finacial crisis in a generation), war on freedom of speech (Homeland security laws allowing a unprecedented attack on basic constitutional rights), war on American security (Osama bin Laden is feeling comfy 7 years later), war on American culture (torture is now a legitimate tool in the U.S. what before was a realm of dictatorships), war on free and honest elections (a proper count of the Florida vote of 2000 was never finished). So yes, I agree with you, we have to stop these wars immediately. Vote for the person which gives us hope he will do exactly this.

You have done a good job covering the issues. But right now, people are more driven by their own lusts than by a desire for truth. I pray people's blindness is removed in time.

One comment about the capital gains tax. Greedy people have no compassion. Many 401ks and other retirement accounts are for us when we are no longer able to work and have no income. A tax on anything we have saved will hurt unemployed people who are too old to work and replace the money taken.

Another thought....This all starts at the bottom. Voters in my state are not required to prove they are citizens when registering to vote. The government just takes their word for it. This means there might be millions of illegal voters in the USA voting in this election. see registration form below. It asks for no proof of citizenship.
