Hubby was reading the latest from the Official Journal of the National Rifle Association and pointed out some very interesting articles. Apparently Hillary Clinton was right about Barack Obama ... You can't trust him with your guns.
Go to this link and read about Obama and his views on gun owners. Obama would be the most anti-gun president in American history.
Obama would: Prosecute people who use guns for self-defense in the home; Ban the sale of almost all hunting ammunition; Increase taxes on firearms and ammunition by 500%.
FactCheck and Brady Campaign in Bed with Annenberg Foundation says, "Just last year, FactCheck's primary funding source, the Annenberg Foundation, also gave $50,000 to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence for "efforts to reduce gun violence by educating the public and by enacting and enforcing regulations governing the gun industry." Annenberg made a similar grant for $100,000 in 2005. (source)
FactCheck claim: "Obama is proposing no ...ban" on use of firearms for self-defense in the home.
FactCheck is wrong. Obama supported local handgun bans in the Chicago area by opposing any allowance for self-defense. Obama opposed an Illinois bill (SB 2165, 2004) that would have created an "affirmative defense" for a person who used a prohibited firearm in self-defense in his own home. [snip]
FactCheck claim: Obama "did not ...vote to 'ban virtually all deer hunting ammunition."
FactCheck is wrong. Obama voted for an amendment by longtime ammunition ban advocate Sen. Edward Kennedy (S. Amdt. 1615 to S. 397, Vote No. 217, July 29, 2005), which would have fundamentally changed the federal "armor piercing ammunition" law (18 U.S.C. ' 922(a)(7)), by banning any bullet that "may be used in a handgun and that the Attorney General determines... to be capable of penetrating body armor" that "meets minimum standards for the protection of law enforcement officers." [snip]
FactCheck claim: "Obama says he does not support any ... handgun ban and never has."
FactCheck is wrong. Obama has never disavowed his support for a handgun ban. On Obama's 1996 questionnaire for the Independent Voters of Illinois-Independent Precinct Organization, he clearly stated his support for "state legislation to ...ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns." Although Obama first claimed he had not seen the survey, a later version appeared with his handwritten notes modifying some of the answers. But he didn't change any of his answers on gun issues, including the handgun ban. [snip]
FactCheck claim: Saying Obama supports gun licensing is "misleading."
FactCheck is wrong. Obama's fancy election-year footwork - claiming he doesn't support licensing or registration because he doesn't think he "can get that done" - isn't enough to get around his clear support for handgun registration and licensing. [snip]
FactCheck claim: Saying Obama would appoint judges who agree with him is "unsupported."
This FactCheck claim is just strange. Don't most Americans expect that the President will appoint people who agree with him to all levels of the government? And putting all Obama's campaign rhetoric about "empathy" aside, why would judges be any different?
And on the larger issue of Obama's view of the Second Amendment, FactCheck once again takes Obama's spin at face value. While Obama now claims to embrace the Supreme Court's decision striking down the D.C. gun ban, he refused to sign an amicus brief stating that position to the Court. And when Washington, D.C. television reporter Leon Harris said to Obama, "You support the D.C. handgun ban and you've said that it's constitutional," Obama nodded - and again didn't disavow his support. Meet Barack Obama and see what the NRA has to share about him and his plan for America here.
Other News on the election not from the NRA:
Change Means Never Having to Face Facts:
Telling a friend that the love of his life is a phony and dangerous is not likely to get him to change his mind. But it may cost you a friend.
It is much the same story with true believers in Barack Obama. They have made up their minds and not only don't want to be confused by the facts, but also resent being told the facts. -- Thomas Sowell in his article "Change Means Never Having to Face Facts" (hat tip Steve at Common Cents)
Health Care:
On March 1, the Hawaii Medical Service Association began enrolling children in the state Keiki (child) Care program. The grand plan was to provide medicine for every child between birth and 18 years old who didn't otherwise have coverage.
But then parents who could afford coverage began dropping their private plans and placing their children in the program. Gov. Linda Lingle's office, seeing a sure disaster ahead, pulled the plug on the patient last week, citing "budget shortfalls." There simply isn't enough money in the state treasury to fund it. What makes me sick is that Obama is not even speaking for himself on the issue. He has Virginia Senator Jim Webb doing a whole BS radio ad.
"I'm Jim Webb, My daddy gave me a gun when I was 8, and I gave my son a gun when he turned 8, and I feel secure that my guns are safe with Barack Obama"
Well I'm glad you feel your guns are safe with Obama, you also thought you could bring your gun into the Senate building you dolt... guess I won't be trusting your judgment Mr. Webb.
The ad really ticks me off because it's a huge lie, it really skirts around the issue.

Everything is a lie with the Biden/Obama campaign. Ask Joe "the plumber." Biden literally twisted his words around, ommits facts in evidence, and all done in the most pompous, patronizing, and arrogant manner. He then looked down his nose at the middle class and gave us all the proverbial middle finger.
Why is it not easily seen by the masses when it is so obvious that these two are elitists who want to take your money from you and give it to their cronies in ACORN and similar venues?
Perhaps these two are just what the simple of mind want, to be lead around by the nose with lofty speeches and empty rhetoric.
Please Joe and Barry, keep yapping! Sooner or later you will convince enough people who you truly are.
Keep up the great work Debbie.

My brother-in-law recently complained about his 401(k) and I advised him to put his money into cash.
I saw him yesterday and he followed my advise. Then I offered an addendum to that original financial advice.
Now, invest some of that money into guns and ammunition. Indeed!

This is very bothersome b/c it means me having to start stocking up on ammo, because I fear the worst that this fool is really going to make it into office.

When the government tries to take away the guns start becoming scared. The first thing every dictatorship does is to take away the guns.

If Obama is elected folks, make no mistake, the mad left will do its best to take away as many of your freedoms, that too many of you take for granted, away from you.
They will come after your guns folks, make no mistake and you'd better be prepared. The first step to creating a compliant population and getting people to accept more and more government interference and nannying is to disarm you.
I always say, if you Americans give up your guns, we're all screwed.
So even though I'm not an American, i'm joining the NRA if Obama wins. Can anyone tell me if their 'Americas First Freedom' magazine is any good?

I think the NRA magazine is pretty good. The wife sez most of the articles are also available online.
