Plot to Assassinate Obama - and so it begins...

The US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms says that it has stopped a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

The plot also included plans to shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree.

In court records unsealed today agents said they disrupted plans by neo-Nazi skinheads to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school.  (Belfast Telegraph)

Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tennessee and Paul Schlesselman, 18, of West Helena were charged in a federal complaint last Friday of illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federal firearms licensee, and making threats against a major candidate for the Office of President.

According to the complaint, Cowart and Schlesselman met via the Internet through a mutual friend last month, with both men claiming to have very strong beliefs regarding "White Power" and "Skinhead" philosophies.

On October 20, 2008, Cowart allegedly traveled from Tennessee to Arkansas to pick up Schlesselman in order to carry out their plan.

According to the complaint, the defendants further discussed their killing spree to include targeting a predominately African American school, and to continue their spree until their final act of violence, which would be to attempt to assassinate Obama.

Officials said Cowart and Schlesselman stated that they would be willing to die during their attempt.

The pair was arrested on October 22, 2008 by the Crockett County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department  (KAIT8 Jonesboro, AR)

Threats against presidential candidates is not new, nor are threats against Obama new -- but with one week away from election day and the media reporting that Barack Obama is already President of the United States (voting seems to be just a silly technicality), the nuts are coming out of the woodwork.

We have gone past taking campaign signs out of yards, to spray painting vile language and vandalizing homes and automobiles, to hanging Gov. Sarah Palin in effigy.

I saw people all over the corners in 2 city's today, all with Mc Cain signs. Nothing but McCain commercials on the radio station I listen to. Normally it is all Obama commercials and signs. But not now.  I have seen many  McCain sings in front of businesses lately and on cars.  

There was a article in the paper this morning about cars being vandalized that had McCain stickers.

We know a republican campaign worker that said his job was to call Republican voters just to get an idea how many were voting for Obama and he said of all he called only one was voting for Obama. So that is more good news.

Imagine November 5, 2008. It is 8 AM on the east coast and the morning news is rife with reports of violence that began the night before. The violence has erupted in many large and mid-sized cities across the land.
