THE SIX HUNDRED POUND LIBERAL NOBODY SEEMS TO NOTICE

Word has it that that infamous Los Angeles Times video with Barack Obama and Rashid Khalidi shows the Senator from Illinois agreeing with and supporting Khalidi’s call for the destruction of Israel and the genocide of Jews worldwide. I do not know if this is true, but the reliability of the source far outweighs the reliability of those who have vehemently denied it. Of course, we could end all of this speculation simply by having the L.A. Times produce the video for all to see and analyze. Apparently, they are quite unwilling to do so. Perhaps they do not wish to be booted off Barack Obama’s aircraft like the good reporters from The Washington Times, New York Post, and Dallas Morning News. So much for free press. So much for knowing what is good for America. An Obama White House will be a very segregated one indeed.
I thus weep for America. I weep for the whole world. I’d laugh my ass off over how foolish Obama supporters are if it were not for the seriousness of their antics. People actually believe that he will turn our economy around – the only topic where he leads John McCain in the various polls – when I’ve corresponded with hundreds of businesses that are set to layoff should Obama be elected. I know of thousands more waiting nervously in the wings. I know that I have written about this dozens of times already, but sometimes you have to hit people upside the head with a sledgehammer just to get them to use their turn signals on the freeway. Anyway, if anyone wants an up close and personal view of what a liberal presidency would look like, let them come to Michigan.
Our socialist governor has continued to raise taxes to offset our dwindling population (read that, taxpayers) in order to pay for our state’s 30% welfare population. Simply put, the less people that remain in Michigan the more they have to pay in taxes to keep Michigan’s social programs solvent. Ergo, higher taxes and larger fees for services (where else is attending a last place baseball team’s game considered a luxury?). Placed in the context of an Obama presidency, his 95% tax plan would mean that approximately half of the country (minus the 40% that already get their taxes returned in full) would have to pay the tax burden. If he reduces taxes on them, the burden will sit heavily in favor of the upper five percent who will 1.) Utilize their tax write-offs to avoid paying taxes altogether; 2.) Shift more jobs overseas; and/or 3.) Simply relocate their entire business operation overseas. Any money made and spent overseas is not taxed at the second highest corporate rate on the planet. I don’t know about you, but I could see myself racing along European streets in a nice Lamborghini Murcielago at half the taxes that we have here.
Another facet of Michigan’s economic depression that needs to be addressed is our own auto industry – the poster child for union corruption, deceit, and job-killing performance. American automakers pay far too much for employee benefits in comparison with, for example, their Japanese counterparts. Already, $1,500 for every car made goes just for retiree healthcare. Add to that existing employee healthcare, legal benefits, dental benefits, eye care, etc. etc. and soon you’re taking out a mortgage on a car that you can’t even maintain yourself. Now, six governors have petitioned the U.S. Government for a sizeable portion of the $700 Billion economic bailout package to bail out automakers. Hello? How about letting them go down in flames for a change? When I screw up financially – and I do from time to time – I have to suck up my losses, adapt my ways, and figure out a future planned only with what I still have available. I probably have more bill collectors after my ass than Islamic terrorists. Well, maybe.
The point that I’d like to make is that everyone is responsible for his or her own misdeeds. The stumbling and falling down aspects of our lives provide us with an opportunity in which to learn from our mistakes and build our future upon sturdier legs, which will allow us to survive through standing firm or running like hell from danger. It is what Confucius had in mind when he finished his famous parable with “Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” Not with Detroit. We’ve thrown so many fish at the city no wonder it smells and was ranked by the leftist MSN as the worst city in which to live. Even the Democratic mayor is currently serving time in jail for corruption. Still, millions of people believe that the Democrats are better at handling the economy. Seven hundred billion of our hard-earned tax dollars are being taken away to bail out the housing market and six states want a portion of that money to bail out failing automakers? Do you detect a trend here?
Taxes are good, if they pay for fundamental services such as border security or the military. Taxes are not supposed to be used as an insurance policy or as funds to bequeath to our heirs. Taxes are a security measure to safeguard our nation’s future, not an entitlement designed to safeguard our citizens from working. In baseball, when a player is not quite ready to stay with the team many managers send them down south of the border to play “winter ball”. Perhaps we should do the same with those people who will not make any effort to earn their keep – send them to see some Third World country where simple survival rules the day. Maybe after a day or two of seeing what a bad economy or perhaps a true socialist government is really like, they will come back primed and buffed for the “major leagues” again. Yet, you know Obama supporters; they want your fish. In the world of politics, you can lead a donkey to the water but you can’t make them think for themselves.
The best way that I can describe social welfare programs for the common person to understand is to use Social Security itself. When enacted in 1935, they had a dozen people working for every one that retired. Now think of ancient Egypt with Ramesses II being carrying around the royal city of Piramesse on the shoulders of twelve Nubian slaves. Not much effort on their part. Today, ol’ Ramesses would be carried upon the shoulders of only two servants. Just imagine if he were a fat old lard and you can get a decent picture of how our Social Security system got unbalanced. Now, Barack Obama wants to take over your 401K plan. I don’t know how to transpose into hieroglyphics, but the Obama supporters wouldn’t like what I’d write right about now.
Americans only flourish when they break free from the shackles of excessive government. The United States only came about when the colonists said that enough was enough and thumbed their nose at George III. Civil rights only came about – perhaps a century late – when the nation decided enough was enough and went to war against itself to shatter the shackles of slavery. Barack Obama now wants to shackle everyone under the bondage of socialism:
Obama’s “spreading the wealth” is simply the first step towards the “equable distribution of income through a regulated system” of the Pelosi and Reid community. If they desire to control your retirement savings – which currently represent free market capital – how long before they attack free market capital itself?
If you stand very quietly and pay attention, that heretofore unseen disturbance meandering through your home is a six hundred pound liberal monster and he’s after your wallet, your check book, your home safe, your gun cabinet, your telephone, and more than likely your very family. The worst part, however, are the millions of his followers who are eagerly awaiting the scraps that fall from his plate onto the floor. These mere scraps will not elevate them off their begging knees, but they are not his scraps. They are yours!

Not once in the debate on foreign policy did Obama mention Israel. NOT ONE TIME.

Wonderful post. You get to the heart of why Obama is wrong for this country.

Our tax system already taxes the rich at higher rates and we have the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world.
Along with an increase in capital tax rates, Obama clearly makes himself a bad choice in the possible difficult recession that we are getting into. You simply dont increase taxes in such a manner at these times.
This is foolishness.
I hope in the next couple of years that he will not take another 100 thousand dollars again from Fannie May and Freddie Mac. At least the Democrats can finally admit that there is a problem with the GSEs. Thats a step in the right direction for a party that has been behind the curve for over a half decade...

Commenter Brian is deluded, as so many Obama fans are, just as so many supporters of Hitler were.
American Jews that vote for Obama are going to be facing a serious case of "voters remorse" when the socialism and "change" in foreign policy begins to show it's hand.

Correction: $700,000.00 should have been $700,000,000.00.

It's amazing what $700,000.00 can do to the human mind when used to buy the best propaganda money can buy.
Obama's formula is simple. Obama spends millions of dollars for campaign ads in which he promises to spread around billions of dollars confiscated from "selfish" working Americans.
Would all of that together be the same as buying the presidency?

"These mere scraps will not elevate them off their begging knees, but they are not his scraps."
That's really the crux of it isn't it, apart from it being your scraps, the beggars will remain beggars. That's the way with socialism, and once your down that road, you won't turn back, because it'll be up to the beggars to turn back, and why would they turn back to a life where they'll have to work for their own food when they can have your scraps for free.

All states are feeling the pinch. California is $7 billion over budget and is asking the Federal Government for a handout.
The LA Times won't release the video, yet they quote from it. And they have been big supporters of Obama and his campaign (the real reason why they won't release it).
I seriously doubt that Obama given his history of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentaments would say that the PalArabs and Israelis would have to work it out. Not to an old friend of his who was the spokesman for the PLO and who shaped Obama's views on the subject.

JBS: Who's the source you speak of? The LA Times says that Obama spoke saying that Israel and Palestine need to find a way to work out their differences. That is the source. That is the quote.
Here's the thing that you guys don't understand. Some people in this world disagree with the way you see things. Some people see the facts differently than you do. And, sometimes, the rightness or even the inaccuracy of an idea matters less than the creation of a dialog that leads to greater understanding.
Obama has been very consistent and vocal about his willingness to sit down with people whom he disagrees with and let them speak, vent, rant, and disagree if there is a chance that it will lead to greater understanding. If you think that everyone who disagrees with you should be silenced, ostracized and condemned you will never understand Obama. It's really a somewhat childish way of seeing the world.
The best statement is to seek to understand first before being understood. There is no person better to help someone understand the Palestinian point of view than Khalidi. I appreciate that Obama has had a broader range of personal relationships and interactions as it gives him perspective and the ability to explain the U.S. position more effectively.
Khalidi is not a terrorist. His work is widely respected. Obama is interested in the world, of which the Middle Eastern conflict is a major part.
To condemn Obama for being able to interact and at times even form working relationships with people who hold alternative views is a gift, a skill, and a much needed talent. Condemn it if you want, but you might want to take a little bit of time to understand it before you do. Your party's willingness to react before attempting to understand has not served us well. I am not sure how much the world will be able to understand, Bomb, Bomb, Iran. . .

Well Michigan, welcome to the state of New Jersey where my taxes are $13000/yr including $10,000 for our glorious Socialist schools. People are leaving in droves as the inner cities become over populated with non-taxpaying illegal immigrants. An Obama presidency would be more of the same for me. I'm proud to drive with a "Who is John Galt?" bumper sticker until I can leave this cesspool.

The ruination of my native State. It just makes you want to weep. Good work, but I fear the the 30% on welfare like it that way.
