After watching the debate tonight between Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama, I wondered just who this debate was for? Certainly this was not intended for Obama's supporters, they are hardcore behind him. If this little face-to-face was for the moderates and independents, or the former Hillary supporters, surely they have already made up their minds and nothing said tonight swayed their votes.
That only leaves the 'undecided' voters to entice and if any eligible American voter is undecided at this late date, I have to question their intelligence. Early voting started today, people are already casting their votes. Come on, people know who they are going to vote for.
How did John McCain do tonight? The answer lies in the battle of the metaphors: "McCain got to the plate, but didn't hit a home run." "McCain kept jabbing, but landed no punches." "McCain took the fight to Obama, but he didn't follow through."
John McCain did better in this debate than he has done in any other. At least he brought up some questions about Obama's past, his allies, his plan to increase government, tax everybody to death, hand out taxpayers money (spread the wealth) to those who don't pay taxes and others, and McCain even told Obama he was not George W. Bush.
I have three questions that no polling has been done on: One, how many McCain voters are casting a vote FOR McCain? Two, how many McCain voters are casting votes for Gov. Sarah Palin? Three, how many McCain voters are casting votes AGAINST Obama?
If Barack Obama wins this election, which is still not a certainty by any means, or even if McCain wins, I believe this will be the beginning of a new, strong, growing Conservative movement gathered behind folks like Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, and many others who have risen to the top during this 2008 election process.
It takes time for the cream to rise to the top -- that time begins now !

Hi, Debbie...I like your optimism about the conservative movement growing.
And I liked very much your 3 points......How many are really voting because they adore mcCain? Cindy and his Mom?
I keep hearing undecideds on TV STILL undecided and that shows me something very worrisome, though: CHARACTER DOESN'T MATTER.
Or they're not hearing about Ayers, Wright, Fleger, Farrakhan, Rezko, Michelle, etc etc.......
They just don't care!? NO BIGGIE....
who the heck wants a president with THIS kind of bad judgment? Tonight, he's calling himself a 'bonehead' for having made that PA remark about guns and bibles!!
I reckon the next 3 weeks will be Obama 'smoothing over' ANY remark he's made to anybody in the last 2 years of running....sealing his deal. He is SO SMOOTH. SO SCARY!!

Wow. Thank you Debbie. What a bright and optimistic idea. And it's something that makes sense.
More than anything I've read lately, this gives me real solid hope. I might just have to steal it for Radarsite.
lol

Before Sarah Palin, I was voting against Obama.
When Sarah Palin appeared I was still voting against Obama and now FOR Sarah Palin.
As I said in a previous comment that sometimes in life you don't always get what you hope for but let me extend my hopes:
1. On election day, Obama will be leading in the polling by 5 to 10 points and LOSE! The mainstream media and the looney left will be left with their mouths hanging open.
2. McCain will be a 1 term president by his own choice.
3. Sarah Palin will rise to the top in 2012 and with her running mate, Bobby Jindal will become the next president.
4. Somewhere along the way huge scandels will consume the Democrat party and the Republicans will recapture the House and Senate with honest to goodness conservative members.
5. Black Americans and other minorities will finally see the light and start voting Republican in huge numbers.
6. Islamic terrorism will be soundly defeated and forever minimized.
7. After 2 enormously successful terms, Sarah Palin will step down and Bobby Jindal with a new fresh conservative running mate will be president for the next 8 years.
After that I'll probably be dead or demented so 2028 for me is a non-issue, but at least perhaps my grandson will be successful and secure.
Yall shut up....a dude can dream, can't he?

People are scared about the economy. Without that problem, Obama would be in big trouble.

Oh by the way, I just read that John Murtha.......you know the guy who accused our troops of being murderers????? just called western Pennsylvanians racist!

Hi Debbie, that was a great post, and I especially liked Grouch's second comment, it was even more optimistic than I am. I don't dare dream so far into the future. The one thing I am sure of is that we will have a female President in 2012. The race will be between Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. Sarah will win.

"looks like he ate his Wheaties".
Loved how he reminded Obamaleot that he wasn't running against Bush!!
But everyone still said that Obama won...??
I am scared to death Obama is going to be the next Pres... I yi yi!!

I'm also a great fan of Sarah. However, if McKan't loose and she returns to her native Alaska as a prospective leader of GOP, can you imagine the fury the Dems and allied MSM will try to destroy her with? Can you imagine bile, rumours, lies, distortions, false accusations ("Todd is allegedly tired of his famous and assertive wife. Apparenlty he is in a search for someone more feminine..."). I'm affraid that Sarah's family will be facing hard times and will have to gather their all strength to keep together and survive to the next election. And if GOP want's keep her as a leader, they have to provide them with an extra protection. We cannot underestimate the EVIL that has taken over the Dhimmicrats. They are capable of EVERYTHING and they will use any imaginable means in order to destroy her. I worry very much about Sarah...

Good on ya Debbie. Yeah, i agree, Conservatives like Palin have a real future beyond this, i said it a while ago, whatever happens to McCain-Palin, she is going places, she just needs a bit more rough and tumble and battle-hardening if you will and she can be a true alternative.
The other silver lining in all this if McCain loses is that, for then next 4 years, it's all on the Democrats. We've been defending Bush and Conservatism from dirty and unfair attacks for a long time now. Paybacks going to be real sweet. With Obama, if anything goes wrong with the economy, if he can't pull em' out of recession, taxes go up, jobs are lost etc. it's all on the Democrats and the left, we'll do our best to stick it to them from dawn to dusk.

Thank you for the insight presented in this post.

I thank all of you for your insight, and interest in this vote from around the world. America may suffer if Obama is elected, but she will overcome and we will be stronger for it.

The country survived four years of Carter bungling; I trust that, if it is made necessary by 'no-brainer' votes, we can survive four years of Carter II. Though, the stakes are higher just now, with a significant segment of Obama's money and support coming from elements that wish our destruction.
There's still time for voters to reconnect their brainstems and say Nobama!
As for Murtha, he's become a four-star (out of 3) blithering idiot. First dissing our troops with lies, and now dissing the people of the state that helped elect his lowlife ass.

Well, I hope McCain wins AND we get a strong new conservative movement...

Carter II, you bet your arse it will be. The only difference this time around, is Obama will have Pelosi and Dodd heading up the three-headed serpant.. and that is what scares me!
Hang on, folks! It's gonna get bumpy!
