The dogs that are not barking

Very interesting article by Jack Kelly at Real Clear Politics,where he states, "European foreign ministers were startled Jan. 6 when Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak told them Hamas must not be permitted to win the conflict in Gaza. ... Moonbats in Europe and America are agitated, but protests against Israel in Sunni Muslim countries have been muted. In the West Bank, there's barely been a peep of protest."  Why?

Israel's invasion of Gaza has prompted denunciations from the usual suspects. But as fictional detective Sherlock Holmes noted in solving the mystery of the disappearance of the race horse Silver Blaze, what's most interesting are the dogs that aren't barking.

This is because Sunni Muslim leaders view the terror group Hamas as a proxy for Iran. And though Sunni Muslim rulers don't like Jews any more today than they did before, they don't fear Israel. But they do fear Shia Iran.

It isn't only the Sunnis who have reacted cautiously. Iran's chief proxy is the terror group Hezbollah, the de facto government in southern Lebanon. When Israeli forces entered Gaza, many expected Hezbollah to fire rockets into northern Israel to open a second front. But all Hezbollah has offered its beleaguered ally so far is lip service.

It isn't only Iranian proxies who are showing reticence. Some 70,000 Iranians purportedly have volunteered to become suicide bombers against Israel. But Iran's supreme ruler, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has forbidden them to leave the country. The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said the appropriate response to the Israeli attack is a "mental jihad." Mohammad Ali Jafari didn't explain what a "mental jihad" is, but it's unlikely to be as dangerous to Israelis as suicide bombers or Hezbollah rockets.  (read it all)

Why there is so much silence is because these people are partially to blame for the current situation.  Tunnels run from Egypt into Gaza, missiles and other arms are moved into Gaza via Egypt.  Those munitions come from places like Iran.  Same for Hezbollah, another proxy of Iran.  The Palestinian people shoulder much of the blame for their own situation.

These are very interesting times indeed.  Perhaps we can hope that the Palestinian people themselves will get tired of being used as human shields and PR props for Hamas media images.  Perhaps Palestinians will reject Hamas and choose a legitimate non-terrorist government in the future.  Perhaps...

GERMAN POLICE TAKE DOWN ISRAELI FLAG:  Claim The Act Was To De-Escalate Rising Tensions Caused By Pro-Hamas Protest

In an attempt to show solidarity with Israel, a couple hung an Israeli flag in the window of its third floor apartment flat in Duisburg Germany. Little did they suspect that German police would break into that apartment to take down the flag in the face of a pro-Hamas rally.

Walid Shoebat, former Palestinian Terrorist claims to know the mindset of the protesters as well as those they support. “What people don’t seem to understand,” he says, “ is that this type of action on the part of German police is not only a double standard in every meaning of the term but such actions only serve to embolden the protestors.”

Shoebat asks everyone to stop and think what would happen if the situation were reversed. “What would happen if a Palestinian flag were pulled down from the window of an apartment in Gaza? The fact you do not need me to answer that question actually answers that question,” he says.  (Special Guests)

HAS CNN BEEN BUSTED?  Filmmaker Challenges news Channel To Release Raw Footage To Prove news Story Legitimate

On January 8th, CNN broadcast a story about a cameraman who allegedly filmed doctors trying in vain to resuscitate his twelve-year old brother. However, what’s portrayed as CPR is actually borderline laughable according to independent medial experts. Dr. Richard Landes, filmmaker and man behind the 2006 YouTube phenomenon, “Pallywood: According to Palestinian Sources”, has issued a challenge to CNN that would quell any further debate. “Release the rushers (raw footage), says Landes. This will undoubtedly either validate CNN’s decision or expose the story as a fraud.” At issue in the CNN piece is the apparent weak and feeble attempt by the doctor on the right to use CPR, as his motions resemble nothing even remotely close to Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. “What the viewer sees,” says Landes, “is akin to someone having an ointment rubbed into their abdomen by someone seeking a large tip. The United States refused to give Israel specialized bunker-busting bombs or permission to fly over Iraq, in order to take out some of Iran's nuclear capabilities.  Israel has been planning and war-gaming an attack that would take place before George W. Bush leaves office.  Many took this refusal to mean that Israel would put aside her plans.  Not so.

Former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton said on Fox News that Israel did not need American permission.  He sited Israel's taking out of North Korea's nuclear site in Syria earlier this year as an example.  I'm not sure that's the best example, because the United States assisted Israel with various forms of reconnaissance.  But I do believe if Israel decides to attack Iran and she can get the munitions needed, and a work-around Iraq,  Israel may still try to attack Iran.  But that's a lot of 'ifs'.

In spite of all the United Nations sanctions, places like Dubai and now Malaysia are setting up front companies to purchase for Iran, items needed for their nuclear program but considered illegal imports by the United States.  The producers of the items may be in places here in the US, and not realize they are actually shipping to Iran.  (Washington Post)  Also, from Dhimmi Watch:

Iranian banks moved billions through U.S. banks

Iranian banks illegally shifted billions of dollars through American financial institutions in recent years, and authorities suspect some of the money may have been used to finance Iran’s nuclear and missile programs.

Details of the illicit transfers came to light on Friday when New York State and federal authorities announced that a large British bank had agreed to pay $350 million to settle accusations that it had helped the Iranian banks hide the transactions.

The British bank, the Lloyds TSB Group, “stripped” information that would have identified the transfers in order to deceive American financial institutions, which are barred from doing business with Iranian banks, Robert M. Morgenthau, the Manhattan district attorney, said. Lloyds acknowledged its conduct and agreed to turn over detailed records of the transactions.  (continue reading)

It seems the real dogs that are not barking, at least not barking at the right target, ... are the Palestinians themselves and those who are guilty of playing a part in everything that led up to the present violence.

All the moonbats can volunteer to go defend Hamas by being their human shields. Israel can do them AND us a favor in one grand offensive.

And let's give Israel those bunker buster bombs.

A little psy-ops with muscle to give Tehran some pause is just what the doctor ordered. After, that is, the cancer of Hamas is removed or radiated out of existence.
