What about the women Obama?

President Obama must do everything in his power to help free Middle Eastern women from illiteracy, poverty, forced veiling, forced, arranged marriages to first cousins, polygamy, purdah, etc. Alas, thus far, he has flattered their jailers and crowed about America’s support for the hijab. As US President Barack Obama continues to put off making a decision on a plan forward in Afghanistan he needs to think about his wife and daughters -- what if they were woman living in Afghanistan or Pakistan under Taliban sharia rule?  It's not a pretty thought.  It's not just our soldiers, both men and women, Obama needs to think about.  The Taliban and al-Qaeda both want to install Islamic law wherever they gain control.

The Obama administration is continually floating trial balloons that we should accept the Taliban rule, that the Taliban isn't so bad, that they don't work with or agree with al-Qaeda.  To that I say rubbish! We are told that we must differentiate, at least for tactical purposes, between Taliban in Afghanistan and Taliban in Pakistan.

 We are told that the Taliban will assume power, either in Afghanistan or in Pakistan. We are told it’s up to the U.S. to come to terms, which of the two countries it is. We are told there is benefit to Taliban in Afghanistan, to hold out for Pakistan, at least a real country, as opposed to the sandbox. We are told that there is benefit to the U.S. to concede to Taliban in Afghanistan, while retaining Pakistan.  That's pretty scary if you ask me.

The Taliban in Afghanistan are attacking as part of strategy to sway White House decision making.  American soldiers are dying.  American anti-war protesters are pushing Obama to get out of Afghanistan or at the very least not to send any more troops.  The Generals are telling Obama the war will be lost without further soldiers and supplies.  While the death toll rises, Obama refuses to take a stand.  What about all those who have lost their lives already and what about those who remain?  What about the women and children?

We are led to believe that an all-out Pakistan Army ground offensive into Waziristan is imminent, yet they will not meet their objective and may be further weakened as a result.  The United States must do all it can to avoid a Pakistan-Indian military confrontation and to prevent the Pakistan nukes from ending up in the wrong hands.  In fact, we are told that Pakistan could be a precursor to a larger war in the region.

We know that Iran has long been causing problems in Iraq, now they are helping the Taliban in Afghanistan. Iran is stirring the pot in many places in many ways, while at home they go unchallenged in their ongoing efforts to go nuclear.  Iran's hatred for Israel continues to boil.

It is the Taliban’s objective to draw India and Pakistan into open war.  In Afghanistan it is the Taliban's objective to re-gain control and establish Islamic sharia rule.  Just this past week we had the Taliban attack on  Pakistan’s army headquarters in Rawalpindi,  and the Kabul Embassy attack.  The Taliban are against schools, against girls learning anything or even showing the tip of their nose in public.  They are treated worse than livestock. 

Around the world women and children are raped, tortured, imprisoned, by Muslim men.  Muslim men are pretending to be Hindus to lure Hindu girls into marriage, then force them to accept Islam once they are married, according to Nripendra Nath Mondal, president of BHBC Unity Council of Joypurhat,  Bangladesh (AINA)  Just do a search for Muslim treatment of women around the world and there is more material than you have time to read.

Washington is continually floating trial balloons about accepting the Taliban rule.

So I ask you President Obama... "What about the women and children?"
