Good post and I concur with all of Michael's assessments. I would add a #13, however. Gun and ammunition sales have been through the roof this year. I don't think that the Democrats want to push this country TOO far. ;o)

I agree R.J., good article on all points.

Gun sales up, violence and murders down. You can't argue with facts like that.

Obama's approval rating amongst Jews has gone from the high of 80% to 50% in just one year.

Although Jews will not willingly join the Republican Party (between Eisenhower's anti-Semitism/anti-Israel stand, and the Religious Right hijacking the party in the 80's and 90's (they felt out of place and not wanted), they are becoming Independents. Thus leaving the Democrats (taking their money with them).
What will Obama do in 2012 when he discovers there is no Jewish money for his campaign? What else, blame his lose on the Jews.

R.J. Godlewski

MTT,

I'd have to disagree with your statement that the Religious Right hijacked the GOP. The Republicans simply moved away from the conservative nature of America for decades -- becoming Democratic Lite -- and traditional, religiously-oriented Americans have tried to get the GOP to stand for something other than a better version of what traditional ("moderate") Democrats offered.

Why Jews traditionally vote for Democrats has more to do with their fixation upon victimization than it does on their "feeling out of place" with Christians (whose own faith rests upon Judaic roots).

From an outsider's viewpoint, I see a definite disconnect between American Jews and Israeli Jews.

Mystical Time Traveler a/k/a Monkey in the Middle:

Katie, you don't really mean that about the religious right, I know you don't. The "right" are the conservatives. You and I are both conservatives.

The problem is that those who call themselves moderates, but are really liberals, have taken over the party and pulled us away from our roots.

I hope we will have more guest posts by Michael in the future.

MK

Good post Michael, and i hope you're right, a bad year for those ratbags means a good year for America.
