During the 2008 elections, at Rush Limbaugh's suggestion, many Republicans voted for Hillary Clinton. It was called "operation chaos". In a move very similar the Democrats have organized a 'vote for Sarah Palin' campaign. It seems they think Barack Hussein Obama could easily beat Sarah Palin.
SharpieMarker writes:
"In what could be the most extreme and influential crowdsourcing project ever, Democrats are beginning to organize to purposely vote for Palin in the 2012 Republican primaries. Their theory is by having Palin as an opponent, Obama will have the best odds at winning reelection. Recent polls have shown that Obama comfortably leads Palin by 10-20 points, but Obama is statistically tied with Romney and barely ahead of Huckabee. They even have a state-by-state primary voting guide to help Democrats navigate various states' rules for voting Palin in Republican primaries."
Should be interesting, I suppose time will tell. David B. Jenkins at Pajamas Media has a post comparing and contrasting Barack Obama and Sarah Palin, hat tip Maggie's Notebook. Read it all and read the comments.
few of the contrasts:
* Obama presents as a victim, Palin a victor
* Palin is gracious, Obama is a churl
* Obama has campaigning ability, Palin has executive ability
* Palin is spotless, Obama is corrupt
* Palin loves America, Obama apologizes for America
* Palin is polarizing, Obama is radioactive
* Palin’s world view is Christian; Obama’s is Marxist
Sarah for President? Israpundit says "YES!" Also from Pajamas Media by David Solway, "There is probably no one more qualified for the White House than Sarah Palin. But is she electable?" That is the 308.7 million question.
... She has a lot going for her: charm, personableness, natural smarts, moral probity, executive competence, independence of character, and a passionate love of country. These are undeniable advantages, or should be in any sane political environment.
At the same time, she steps up to the plate with two strikes against her — or, in an alternative baseball universe, with three, four, or five strikes already logged in the umpire’s clicker. PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome) flourishes on the liberal-left, to the extent that a correspondent to Salon.com suggests “we get rid of Palin” by having her electrocuted like one of Michael Vick’s dogs. According to the media scuttlebutt and her innumerable liberal detractors, she is poorly educated, brings no foreign policy experience to the job, shoots her own dinner, comes across as politically unnuanced, and, perhaps the most cutting strike against her, lacks gravitas. These negatives are obviously serious disadvantages for anyone contemplating a run for the presidency, but are they valid criticisms? Is she really “out” before she even takes a swing? Let’s consider each of these knocks against her in turn. [snip]
As Victor Volsky writes in American Thinker, “in the eyes of the political/cultural aristocracy, [Palin] is the embodiment of its worst nightmare: the revolt of the masses against their masters.” And she knows that the master class will mobilize its considerable reserves against her. The question is whether, by sheer force of character, will, and charisma, like an American version of Delacroix’s Marianne leading the charge at the electoral barricades, and by pursuing a tireless itinerary, she can prevail against overwhelming odds and bring to the American people authentic change and genuine hope for the future.
What the Left and the elite Right see as problems for Palin are what the center of this nation see as positives. The majority of this nation is center-Right but by the time we get a say it seems our candidates have been chosen for us (McCain for example, who no true Conservative would ever have chosen for the Republican candidate).
I personally think Palin would make a great president, but is backing her worth risking the possibility that Obama might get elected again? I don't know the answer to that and I'm not sure that is a given. Unfortunately we don't have much time to make our decision because politicians will be flocking to Iowa as soon as the ball drops in Times Square. Heaven help us all.
The far Left does not have the power that Rush Limbaugh listeners have, so it should be interesting to watch their 'vote for Palin' efforts. Will also be interesting to see what Rush himself has to say.

Palin's greatest weapon against Progressive Media is her journalist background. ;o)

Palin is unelectable. The independents who are the swing voters, regardless of what the religious far right thinks and frankly who gives a rats butt what they think, will not vote for her. She has no foreign policy experience at all and we have seen what that means before. She has no military savy regardless if she was the CnC of the Alaska National Guard. She is lacking in diplomatic experience and we have seen what that brings. She lacks a real understanding of how the government works. Her half way experience as Gov of Alaska doesn't qualify her for the job, she quite for crying out loud. That is a pee poor excuse for a leader. A REAL LEADER stands tall and gets tough. When the going gets tough the tough get going , and she failed the tough test. sorry but nominating her is like wrapping the next four years in Christmas paper and handing it to the leftist , and we have seen what that brings.
She's a good cheerleader, a good fund raiser, give her Steele's job because he sure screwed it up royally. She can raise hell and make the left mad as hell but she is not a POTUS.
God help us if the fools on the far right get Huckester nominated as well. But if they don't get their way they will do as they did in 08, stay home and not vote. I said they would do so and that consequences would be hell to pay. I was right and I don't mind saying I TOLD YOU SO to the religious farrighters. Now find someone who can win and forget Palin, forget the Huckester, forget Romney, we had a chance to win with him and the religious far right blew that one as well, so he's old news and many independents won't vote for him either.
Someone talk fast and hard to Christe of NJ, he has a chance. Pence, maybe, Jindel, a wet sock and Obama will eat him alive.
Cain , oh yea, he's dang good and can eat Obama alive but unfortunately he would probably be an also ran at this point.
How about Allen West? I could go for him. Intelligence, military experience, diplomat, Leadership experience, Bronze Star; Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Commendation Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters, one Valor Device); Army Achievement Medal (one Oak Leaf Cluster); Valorous Unit Award; Air Assault Badge; and the Parachutist Badge. You don't get those things unless you are a leader.
Too many other good choice rather than an unelectable Palin. Think about it!

Thanks for the link, Debbie. I've linked you in my New Years Morning post. Love the Rush Limbaugh part of the story.
Happy, happy New Year to you and yours.

I'm afraid she might be unelectable and this plan of the Left might just work. We will see. I really doubt she will end up the candidate though. She could better be used in other areas, just like in the 2009 elections.
Happy New Year everyone

I agree with Ticker: Palin is not electable.
But she is a great cheerleader and an excellent gadfly. Let her serve those purposes.
Meanwhile, the GOP had better start finding a viable candidate for 2012. Otherwise, BHO will get elected again, IMO. I'm sorry to be saying that about his re-election possibilities.

Ross Perot would have made a great president but it was because he ran and could not win that we got Clinton. Palin cannot win but she will get a good portion of the votes that would have gone to a candidate that could win.

If anyone's willing to listen to my opinion, I think that we've all realized that who we elect as president no longer seems to matter. It's WHO they surround themselves with that makes all the difference in the world.
This is what made Reagan good; he surrounded himself with people who fought for this country, knew the principles of economics, and were all proud patriots.
And what makes Obama so bad? He's surrounded by Maoists, Islamists, Socialists, Tyrants, etc.

One thing i know for sure, the only way obama will win 2012 is if republicans give him the victory.
And i think we all know, those idiots are perfectly capable of it. The only thing that stands in their way is the TEA party.

This is all a self-defeating and self-destructing CRAP about alleged unelectability of Sarah Palin.
There is also someting slimy, creepy and outright morally repugnant in suggestion that she should move to the sidelines in order to pave the way for the mysterious "silver knight on the white horse" who will suddenly emerge from the obscurity to lead the Conservatives to a sure victory.
On what basis does anyone think he or she has any right to deny the citizen of the US his or her fundamental right and, above all, the fundamental obligation to take part in a democratic process?
Is anyone throwing that rabish about unelectability towards Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty?
How is possible that this "unelectaibily" CRAP is being applied solely to Palin?
If she is so unelectable, how on Earth has she managed to convince majority of Alascans to vote for the YOUNG WOMAN over so many and so much more experienced and older candidates with tones of money and the entire political machineries behind them?
Wasn't it that she has outperformed them during the governatorial debates and proved that she had much more to offer for the votes than all of her opponents combined?
This is exactly what is being so atavisticaly feared by GOP's apparatchiks; She will for sure outperform Romney, Huckabee, Gingrich, Pawlenty in the primary debates as every argument she uses she shall be able to back with her own real experience.
The know that the cannot win against her and they are panicking.
Suggestions made by afticker are a pure CRAP.
It is also sad that Debbie has joined that self-defeatist crowd.
Appart from that, ALL THE BEST IN THE NEW YEAR!

Remember 1999: the media began talking up GW Bush, even before he announced a run. They heralded him as the up and comer in the GOP. Why? Because the media wanted to effect the outcome of the election. They were convinced that Gore would eat Bush alive. *BUZZZZZZER* Even the sleazy left-wing tactics that tried to steal an election in Florida couldn't help the media overcome their underestimations.
The media was more effective in pushing a nearly down-and-out McCain to the forefront of the GOP in '08...and even with the unexpected boost from Palin, they got what they wanted: Barry the Zero.
We learn many things over time. We forget many of those things, too, as Aristotle observed. This current crap of media, you will note, attacks the things they fear the most: Sarah Palin, Christianity, conservatism. They plump for things they feel they can defeat or control.
Romney flopped in '08. What dunderhead thinks Romney is the answer in '12? RINOs and the media. If the media considered Romney a threat to Zero, they'd be tearing him down, not plumping him up.
I don't know how electable Sarah Palin is or isn't; but I know I'd take four years of her over another four of Barry the Zero.
Can we do better? Probably. But first, we need to quit letting an obviously tainted and corrupt media tell us why Sarah is unelectable, and why someone else who IS unelectable, ain't.

I like Allen West but I doubt he will be running for President so soon, I could be wrong.
Bogdan: I have not joined the defeatist crowd. As I said I think Palin would make a great president.
The fact that the Left is trying to rip her every chance they get proves they fear her.
As Rush Limbaugh says, the Left will tell us who they fear and it seems to be Palin, not Romney.
As to who we elect as president "doesn't matter" any longer, that may be true to a point. But he/she will still have veto power, no matter what the congress does.
