New Evidence Supports Contention that Iran is Developing Nuclear Weapons

The latest report by the UN nuclear watchdog brought new indications that Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapons program.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealed last week that it possesses evidence that Tehran has conducted work on a highly sophisticated nuclear triggering technology that experts said could be used for only one purpose: setting off a nuclear weapon, the New York Times reported. [1] This is not the first time that the IAEA has obtained evidence indicating that Iran has military ambitions for its nuclear program. [2]

Simultaneous to its nuclear-related activities, Iran is developing ballistic missiles, with constantly increasing ranges, which could be used to deliver nuclear weapons. [3] Iranian missiles are already capable of striking parts of Europe. [4]

Gangs and [race?] Riots Across America

Drudge links to several reports of violence across the U.S. in the past few days, parks and venues closed because of the violence.  I'm wondering if the violence has really increased or if we are simply hearing more reports.  Lawrence Auster of View From The Right has some thoughts and also posts comments and emails from readers on the subject and some who experienced the violence.  Check with View From The Right in upcoming days for updates.  I thought with the election of Barack Hussein Obama racial problems were supposed to be behind us in America.  No?

More stories on mayhem across America

Today the Drudge Report links several stories on race-indeterminate (that’s irony) mayhem in various cities in the eastern half of the U.S. that had not been posted at VFR. They are listed below.

CBS Miami has the video of the deadly shooting in which a motorist opened fire at police and the police killed him. The article includes an explanation of what is happening on the video.

CBS also has a story, “Poet Gunned Down In N. Miami.”

The Sun-News (which I assume is a Myrtle Beach paper) has a story repeating the story from WMBF I posted earlier chronicling the numerous violent crimes committed in Myrtle Beach over the weekend. But get this. The Sun-News’ version leaves out all the physical and racial descriptions of the perpetrators. Funny how the expurgated version is the one that ends up being posted at the Drudge Report.

WHM informs us that at a beach in Charlotte, New York, “Fights involving about 50 youths broke out around 7 o’clock Monday night. Police had to clear the area, sending people home.” There is a video of a chaotic mob. Though it is taken from a distance, it is clear that all the people are black. (By the way, I’ve never heard of Charlotte, NY. And “Charlotte” is pronounced with the stress on the second syllable.)

I Want Your Money

Given that the House is expected to vote later today to reject a bill to raise the federal debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion, a symbolic vote that House GOP leaders say will demonstrate that Congress won't increase the government''s borrowing limit without linking it to a deficit-reduction plan, dragging out this movie trailer of "I Want Your Money" seems appropriate. After all, Barack Obama's wealth-redistribution agenda is what's driving the debt increase and if it isn't stopped the government will need ever-more of our money and our nation will most certainly eventually face insolvency.

Kenyans honor Obama's 'birthplace'

Intel report: Cultural museum commissioned in family's African village

An internal bulletin from the Kenyan National Security Intelligence Service, or NSIS, states that the Kenyan government in 2009 commissioned a cultural museum in the Obama home village of Kogelo to honor the "birthplace of President Barack Obama" and rededicate the tomb of his father, Barack Obama Sr.

The 2009 NSIS bulletin report said:

The ministry of national heritage this month hosted a cultural festival in Kogelo and commissioned a cultural museum on a plot donated by a member of the Kogelo community. The cultural festival was attended by the minister for national heritage, William ole Ntimama and U.S. ambassador, Michael Ranneberger.

This was to honour the birthplace of President Obama and re-dedicate the tomb of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., the president's late father. But the project had been delayed because of ownership wrangles surrounding the plot.

According to an article in the Kenyan Daily Nation newspaper July 5, 2010, the Kenyan government's plans to build a 112 million Kenyan Schilling ($1.3 million) cultural center at Kogelo was locked in a dispute over who should donate land to the government for the project.

The Daily Nation, which published an artist's sketch of the proposed Kogelo cultural center, referred to it as Obama's "ancestral home."

 The NSIS memo suggests the Kenyan intelligence agency kept a close watch on the Obama family in Africa.

It noted the Kenyan government provided assistance to Obama's step-grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, in the form of additional security and a government stipend of 50,000 Kenyan Schillings ($575) per month.  (continue at WND, see images and screen grabs)

Dr. Thomas Sowell says in his article Seductive Beliefs:

Despite a carefully choreographed image of affability and cool, Barack Obama's decisions and appointments as President betray an alienation from the values and the people of this country that are too disturbing to be answered by showing his birth certificate.

Too many of his appointees exhibit a similar alienation, including Attorney General Eric Holder, under whom the Dept. of Justice could more accurately be described as the Dept. of Payback.

Thunder of Heaven

Thunder of Heaven, written by Tim LaHaye, creator and coauthor of the world-renowned Left Behind series—the most successful adult fiction series ever written—and Craig Parshall, is 355 pages of non stop action and intrigue.  As the publisher promises, 'it is ripped from the headlines of world events and filtered through Scriptural prophecy', and in my opinion could not be more timely.   The book centers around the main character, Joshua Jordan, who has created RTS (Return To Sender), a device installed on airplanes that, when attacked by a missile, will return the missile to its point of origin, thus blowing up the senders.  

The good guys in the world are being attacked from every angle, from every enemy.  America is confronted by attacks and attempted attacks by al-Qaeda and Islamic terrorists.  Americans are also dealing with dirty politicians, corrupt media (except for one internet newman and one network, AmeriNews, started by American patriots, a/k/a private vigilantes) and lagging numbers of faithful Christians.

Global warming advocates plan on using ecumenical religious leaders to bring all nations into a group pushing climate change.  There is a fight for leadership to head the global warming mega behemoth -- a unification of world religions to be a force behind the global warming movement.   The United Nations forms a climate convention and a global coalition of religions, that (I quote) has become its public relations arm, trying to force new international environmental standards on every nation. 

Israel has her problems too.  Iran still desires to destroy Israel and they now have the means to do it.  In addition to Iran as a clear and present danger, a coalition of nations is gathering its joint military to attack Israel from all directions.    Also, the former Soviet empire has been entirely reconstructed -- without any international condemnation or sanctions from the U.N. 

The world seems ready to explode in violence. There are uprisings in the Middle East, but not the Arab Spring that is in the news today.  The word goes out --  Quim -- the Persian word, the signal for Arabs everywhere, including the Palestinians in the Gaza, to become part of the Qiam, the "uprising."  

But God has a plan, a plan he told us about in his Word, the Holy Bible, thousands of years ago, Thunder of Heaven, Ezekiel's thunder.  

I won't give away anything in this book because I don't want to destroy your enjoyment in reading.  If you are one of the faithful, you will be uplifted and renewed by this fiction novel.  If you are not, then I believe the Holy Spirit can speak to you through Thunder of Heaven.  Read it, share it with your friends and family.

I leave you with one excerpt from the book:

"... it takes more of a leap of faith to believe that life started on this planet randomly than it does to believe it was set in motion by a Creator God.  ...   God himself orchestrated this victory for Israel so that the world would see that He is God.  It is God's most spectacular evidence of Himself to date.  You have to ask yourself, if this proof of God doesn't do it, if it doesn't satisfy you, then exactly what manner of proof would?   ...  So, my prayer for you is that you take this opportunity to get right with God, pull down your wall of philosophical obstructionism and admit the truth.  God is there.  That when it comes to dramatic miracles of biblical proportions God has broken His silence, and he is calling you to believe that He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to earth, according to the Scriptures -- and that He is coming again."

There are two big clues that Sarah Palin is running for President

According to Richard Adams at the GuardianUK in his article "Sarah Palin and the seven dwarves: the Republican presidential nightmare".  There are two big clues that Sarah Palin is running for President:   everything she says and everything she does.  (Did he mean dwarfs?)

With the bus tour and hagiographical documentary, I think at this point we can assume Palin is going to run for the Republican nomination, unless tourists at Gettysburg start pelting her with tomatoes (unlikely) or her bus runs over a cute kitten named Mr Mittens live on Fox News (improbable).

I've said it before: Palin would be crazy not to run for the Republican nomination. Just look at the rest of the field.  (read it all at the GuardianUK, hat tip Marcus Wilder)

Mr. Adams thinks the situation is pretty dark for Republicans, saying "How bad have things got for the Republican party?".  He lists the candidates, or seven dwarfs, but he forgets one thing, or one person, Michele Bachmann, who will surely run.  He also leaves out some male prospects that have great potential but have yet decided to run. 

I would advise Republican voters, and especially Conservative voters, that having all these candidates is good.  It gives us choices and we are not forced to accept the next RINO in line picked out by the squishy establishment.  The current list of candidates will also stir others, more qualified, to throw their hats in the ring.  The more, the merrier.

New highly addictive hallucinogenic twice as powerful as crack cocaine

A mix of cocaine paste, gasoline, kerosene and quicklime (calcium oxide) called Oxi or oxidado, "rust",  comes from South America.   It is reported to be twice as powerful as crack cocaine and just a fifth of the price, according to this report in the GuardianUK, with video.

"It is terrifying," said Alvaro Mendes, an outreach worker in Rio Branco from the state of Acre's Harm Reduction Association, the NGO that first detected the drug. "The majority of first-time users become addicted on their first contact with the drug. Most of them go seven to 10 days without sleeping, without eating. They start to go into a process of degeneration. After months of use … they go into a state where they look like zombies, wandering … in search of pleasure."

Described as a cheaper and deadlier successor to crack, oxi sells for about R$2 (75p) a rock and is smoked in pipes improvised from cans, pieces of piping and metal taps. According to Mendes, whose support group works with slum-dwellers, prostitutes, transvestites and homeless people who are hooked on the drug, oxi can kill within a year.  [snip]

Oxi surfaced in the Amazonian border region between Brazil, Bolivia and Peru in the 1980s, and is said to have been originally used by a small number of hippies who came to the region to experiment with ayahuasca, a hallucinogenic plant native to the Amazon rainforest. [snip]

Read the entire article.  The drug Oxi, oxidado, "rust", is quickly working its way from country-to-country.  Heaven only know how quickly it will begin to show up in the United States.

At The Rio Times an editorial writer says "Someone has to be wicked poor, wicked uneducated, and wicked desperate to escape reality by smoking gasoline, acetone, and battery fluid – no matter how much cocaine it’s laced with."  Unfortunately, that is not necessarily true.  In reality addicts will use anything that gives them the high they desire, especially if it's cheap, and apparently Oxi, rust, is just that, more bang for the buck -- and a quicker path to the undertaker.

In what was a strong rebuke of Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on May 26 that individual states have the right to revoke the licenses of businesses that knowingly employ illegal immigrants. In a 5–3 decision the Justices upheld Arizona’s 2007 law, asserting that the state is within its rights to enforce such an immigration requirement. The Obama administration argued that Arizona was restricted by the “supremacy clause” of the U.S. Constitution:

“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary notwithstanding.”

Liberals have long argued that this means the federal government can pretty much do anything it wants and the states must be subservient, but the clause means only that where there is a conflict between federal law and state law, federal law takes precedence. (Liberals also typically ignore the phrase “…which shall be made in pursuance thereof;” which means that only those laws which are constitutional are the supreme law of the land. If a federal law is unconstitutional—and there are many, such as ObamaCare—it not only cannot preempt state law, it can be ignored by the state.) Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the majority: “Because we conclude that the state’s licensing provisions fall squarely within the federal statute’s savings clause and that the Arizona regulation does not otherwise conflict with federal law, we hold that the Arizona law is not preempted.”  (continue reading at The Obama Timeline)

 

"PROJECT WITNESS" HOLDS SYMPOSIUM AT HOLOCAUST MUSEUM

On Sunday May 29th, "Project Witness" sponsored a unique symposium entitled "The Untold Story: Religious Faith and Practice during the Holocaust" held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage near Battery Park in lower Manhattan. As a non-profit Holocaust resource center, "Project Witness" merges lucid scholarship with cutting-edge media to provide thought-provoking Holocaust educational tools for schools, community centers, and lay readers. While remaining deeply committed to the exploration of the spiritual, ethical, and intellectual responses of Holocaust survivors and victims, "Project Witness" focuses on the character, identity, and faith of survivors and victims and serves to ensure that their legacy is transformed into an eternal guide toward a more hopeful future.

 

Poignant and inspirational narratives abound about those who tenaciously clung to their belief in G-d and religious observance during the maelstrom of the Holocaust, but the vast repository of nuanced details on the personalities that shaped these values has yet to be given ample examination. Thus, the exceptionally informative day-long seminar centered around themes expounded upon in the new "Project Witness" book entitled, "Witness to History", the nation-by-nation history of the Holocaust. 

Remember the Farhud

 Aryeh Tepper at Jewish Ideas Daily discusses whether the Iraqi Farhud should be considered a part of the Holocaust. 

The end of 2,500 years of Jewish life in Iraq began during two days in June 1941. For 30 terrifying hours, mobs of marauding Iraqi Arabs, soldiers and civilians alike, killed 137 Jews and injured thousands more, pillaged scores of homes, and destroyed more than 600 Jewish-owned businesses. The event came to be known as the Farhud, a Kurdish term for the murderous breakdown of law and order. Within ten years, almost the entire Jewish community of Iraq was gone.

Its exotic name aside, the Farhud wasn't an isolated eruption of anti-Jewish violence in some far corner of the world. According to the historians Shmuel Moreh and Robert Wistrich, it was at least in part an extension of the Nazi war of extermination against the Jews. Moreh is the editor of a 1992 collection of essays on the Farhud, recently revised and updated in English translation. Marking the seventieth anniversary of the attack, he and Wistrich, the distinguished historian of anti-Semitism, recently chaired a provocatively titled symposium, "Nazism in Iraq," in the hope of raising public awareness of the event and combating "Farhud denial" among today's Iraqi Arabs.
