Not The Herman Cain They Know - Updates

Response to the hit peace from Politico on Herman Cain - those who worked closely with Cain for years are speaking out:  “It’s just not Herman,”;   “Never once have I ever seen anything but professional behavior”;   “This is a man of incredible character,”;  "The allegations seem completely unbelievable to me,";   "He was never anything but a completely perfect gentleman."  The Weekly Standard has all the details.   

What gesture did Herman Cain make that so offended one woman?

[Greta] Van Susteren asked what Cain did that led to the accusation.  There were reportedly more than one accusations in the complaint, but Cain said he recalled just one incident.  "She was in my office one day, and I made a gesture saying -- and I was standing close to her -- and I made a gesture saying you are the same height as my wife.  And I brought my hand up to my chin saying, 'My wife comes up to my chin.'"  At that point, Cain gestured with his flattened palm near his chin.  "And that was put in there [the complaint] as something that made her uncomfortable," Cain said, "something that was in the sexual harassment charge." Was there a payoff or settlement as the Politico  article claims?

There was a termination amount of 2 to 3 months salary,  "in the five-figure range."  Big woop!  If there were anything there, these women would have filed suit or have been given a payoff.  Something really stinks.

 

Cain Calls Harassment Issue a ‘Witch Hunt’   

At the National Press Club Herman Cain denied any unprofessional behavior toward any women as totally baseless and totally false, and broke out into song, Amazing Grace, this song, causing some on Twitter to proclaim he's already won not only the GOP primary nomination, but the actual general election as well.  (Sounds good but let's not celebrate yet.)

 

In spite of all the attacks on Cain, he leads in the polls.

It is true as of today Cain leads in all the polls I have seen, he wins in Texas over Rick Perry, Ron Paul, and beats Mitt Romney and even beats Barack Obama in national polls.

 

Politico writer backtracks? - Politico's Martin Dodges Question On Cain Details

Herman Cain has been taking heat for his response to questions about Politico's story on alleged sexual harassment.  But today on Morning Joe, it was Politico's own Jonathan Martin, lead author of the story, who was being evasive about the details of the allegations against Cain.

 

The first real test for Herman Cain?.

How should we react?  The instinct to defend a conservative is a good instinct.  We’ve seen too many times, with Sarah Palin and recently with Rick Perry, how the MSM will give every benefit of the doubt to those who make accusations.  We must fight against the use of mere accusations as evidence of actual misconduct.  (Legal Insurrection)

At this point, we have no idea who the source for the article is.  If it comes out that one of the Republican candidates happen to be a source, this will not be good for their campaign.  I doubt it was a Republican.

 

Trash a Conservative, Choose a RINO.

Well, they can't seem to derail Herman Cain on the issues so they have reverted to smear tactics. [snip]

Secondly, I've never sexually harassed anyone, and yes, I was falsely accused while I was at the National Restaurant Association, and I say falsely, because it turned out, after the investigation, to be baseless. The people mentioned in that article were the ones who would be aware of any misdoings, and they have attested to my integrity and my character. It is totally baseless, and totally false, never have I committed any sort of sexual harassment,"

They.  Are.  Scared.  That's it folks, the non-Conservatives are afraid of Herman Cain because he is real, he isn't a politician, he is Conservative, he is not one that they can control.  They are scared to death, so scared they will resort to anything.  Look out, this is just the beginning.  Herman Cain falsely accused.

 

John Hinderaker at Powerline notes Herman Cain at Pillsbury:

Politico’s story makes this article in today’s Minneapolis Star Tribune timely: “Herman Cain’s career at Pillsbury is a tale of two turnarounds.” Cain made his reputation as a businessman at Pillsbury, to the Strib was pursuing a local angle on his candidacy. The article is both flattering–it almost seems that the paper forgot that its subject is a Republican–and highly relevant to today’s attack in Politico

I think that history tells a great deal more about Herman Cain’s character than unknown and untested allegations by two former NRA employees.

 

UPDATE I:

I never thought I would agree with Bob Beckel, but I do when it comes to Herman Cain.  He suggested on Fox News today that Cain should hold a press conference, answer questions, and let that be it... move on with his campaign.  I think this is good advice, because Cain seems to be digging himself into a hole with all these interviews.  It is obvious that he is NOT a politician, that he has not learned yet to answer questions this way:  Short.  To the point.  No rambling.  No contradictions.

I don't question that his answers on Greta tonight were honest, but the way he answered them produced this follow up article from Politico "Herman Cain's misconduct allegations bring out conflicting accounts".  His answers were NOT conflicting, but in his efforts to be completely honest, he did himself no favors.

Human Events is reporting that Cain Campaign Manager Mark Block says the campaign raised $250,000 in online donatinos in one day. However, one Cain campaign source confirmed to me that the fundraising for Monday is well over $300,000.  (Washington Times)

William Jacobson asks Politico: 

...   I understand that you refuse not only to name the person or persons, but also refuse to characterize them as being affiliated or not with another campaign or otherwise. This would seem inconsistent with your frequent use of terms such as “senior administration official” which protects the identity of the person, but permits readers to put the source in some context....

 

The GAY PATRIOT has some Questions for Politico.  I doubt we will ever hear the answers.

UNESCO gives Palestinians membership, but...

U.S. Could Withhold Funds For U.N. Agency After Vote to Grant Membership to Palestinians.  Giving the Palestinians full membership will boost their bid for recognition as a state at the UN.

The United States, Canada and Germany voted against Palestinian  membership. Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa and France voted in favour. Britain abstained.

Huge cheers went up in Unesco after delegates voted to approve the membership Monday. One shouted "Long Live Palestine!" in French.

Israel said that the vote will harm prospects for the resumption of Middle East peace talks. [snip]

Palestinian success could bring a financial cost for Unesco. Under US law, the admission as a full Unesco member would trigger a cut-off in US funding which accounts for 22 per cent of the agency's funding.  (read it all at The Telegraph)

The acceptance of the Palestinian mission into the U.N.'s cultural and educational agency could result in backlash from Washington, which is required by law to cut off funding to the agency if a Palestinian Liberation Organization is granted membership in any group at the international body.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization voted 107-14 with 52 abstentions on Monday granting Palestinians full membership in the organization. The U.S. voted against the nomination. Eighty-one votes of the 173 UNESCO members were needed for full membership to be approved.  [snip]

The U.S. funds about 22 percent of UNESCO's budget, or roughly $80 million annually. [snip]

"So ineffective was Obama administration diplomacy, that France voted in favor of Palestinian membership, and Britain and Japan abstained. U.S. statutes, dating from 1990, now require a full cutoff of U.S. funding, which Congress should insist occur immediately. Should the administration seek changes in the applicable statutory provisions that would eliminate or weaken the funding cutoff, Congress should reject them," Bolton said.

Technology can now see what people are thinking. Be afraid

For the moment, mind-reading is still science fiction. But that may not be true for much longer. Several lines of inquiry (see article) are converging on the idea that the neurological activity of the brain can be decoded directly, and people’s thoughts revealed without being spoken.

Just imagine the potential benefits. Such a development would allow both the fit and the disabled to operate machines merely by choosing what they want those machines to do. It would permit the profoundly handicapped—those paralysed by conditions such as motor-neuron disease and cerebral palsy—to communicate more easily than is now possible even with the text-based speech engines used by the likes of Stephen Hawking. It might unlock the mental prisons of people apparently in comas, who nevertheless show some signs of neural activity. For the able-bodied, it could allow workers to dictate documents silently to computers simply by thinking about what they want to say. The most profound implication, however, is that it would abolish the ability to lie.

Who could object to that? Thou shalt not bear false witness. Tell the truth, and shame the Devil. Transparency, management-speak for honesty, is put forward as the answer to most of today’s ills. I don't believe anyone wants the rest of the world to read their every thought.  Feelings would be hurt, secrets would be secret no more.  I seem to remember episodes of the Twilight Zone where a man could suddenly read minds, it did not end well.  I also remember an episode of the original Star Trek where alien minds had advanced to the point they no longer could speak verbally and communicates only by reading minds.  Sounds like a terrible future. Remember, it's not nice to fool with Mother Nature. 

As the above article states, "Information technology already means that physical privacy has become a scarce commodity. Websites track your interests and purchases. Mobile phones give away your location. Video cameras record what you are up to. Lose mental privacy as well, and there really will be nowhere to hide.".  Not exactly mind reading, but a start in that direction.

 

Book Review: "The Secret Life of Barack Hussein Obama" by Mondo Frazier

Obama clearly gave the impression in DFMF that he was this penniless, somewhat confused young man, in search of an identity. Obama makes sure readers don't miss the point by writing that he was forced to wear "thrift store clothing" during this time. Yet he somehow managed to find the cash to finance a two-week trip to Pakistan.

Which he never wrote about. Which in itself is odd: here's a guy who wrote two autobiographies that explored events real, imagined, and totally fictional that supposedly forged the modern-day Barack Obama from humble beginnings. That's according to the Obama NarrativeTM -- which gets most of its facts from Dreams from My Father.

Not only did a poor, nearly destitute Obama manage to afford the trip to Pakistan, but once there he somehow financed two weeks in the Lahore Hilton International. In addition, Obama was introduced to the future prime minister and president of Pakistan -- and went bird-hunting with him. Which the prime minister mentioned in the Pakistani press in 2008. There's so much more, including one question the CMM never asked Obama: who arranged all of this? For a 20-year-old nobody.

After Arab Spring Regime in Iran desperate for Nuclear Weapons

As the world is playing catch with the events in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria and other Arab Spring focal points, Iran is very busy.

Trying to keep people oppressed in light of Arab Spring revolutions surely keeps the regime in Iran occupied. But more than that, viewing once strongman like Mubarak and Gadaffi defeated, jailed humiliated and assassinated is probably the strongest driver to Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions.

It's safe to assume that if Gadaffi possessed nuclear weapons, NATO would not be so keen on interfering in internal Libyan riots. NATO has armed, trained and financed the rebels operations. Without Nato's help, the Libyan rebels would not be able to topple Gadaffi. Just look at Syria. Without external intervention, Assad is able to hold on and keep protestors at bay. Iran is closely watching the situation and Ahmadinejad recently claimed that NATO intervention was effective in exacerbating the conflict.

As you know,  Amerimar Enterprises (owner of The Hutton Hotel) has cancelled their contract to host our event, the "Preserving Freedom Conference." This situation demonstrates more clearly than ever why this conference is required; to preserve freedom. It is required not only to educate American citizens, but to strategically plan ways that will prevent the implementation of Sharia Law in these United States.  One segment of the Islamists’ implementation strategy is to silence any critical analysis of Sharia Law.  The breaking of our contract by Amerimar Enterprises is a poignant example of their strategy at work.

We will pursue all legal methods possible to hold Amerimar Enterprises responsible for their actions, however our voices cannot be silenced and a conference will take place on Veteran’s Day, 11/11/11!

Although we have been unable to secure commercial facilities on this short of a notice, Cornerstone Church has been gracious in offering their facility for a conference. A full day and evening of activities is planned.  The cost is substantially less in this facility and only the cost of transportation and lodging of speakers need be covered. As a result the cost is just $20.00 per person for the entire day, which will include lunch.

The times for the new event are 10 AM - 9PM on November 11th with a one hour break for a provided lunch, and a two hour break for dinner (not provided) from 5 - 7PM.  You will definitely want to come back for our keynote speakers from 7 - 9-PM. Please share this information with others.  There likely were many who could not come because of the cost before, but now can benefit from the reduced cost.

Americans Under Attack - 13 Dead

Yesterday an Islamic terrorist with grenades and automatic weapon, a Kalashnikov, opened fire on the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia.  He was dressed in what is described as typical Wahhabi Islam attire.  No Americans were hurt or killed, but a policeman and the gunman were wounded.   Today 13 American soldiers, an Afghan policeman, and three civilians are dead in a suicide car bomb attack on an armored NATO bus in Kabul Afghanistan as the convoy was passing the American University.

State Prosecutor Dubravko Campara identified the shooter as Mevlid Jasarevic of Novi Pazar, the administrative capital of the southern Serbian region of Sandzak. Jasarevic, 23, was tried in Austria for robbery in 2005. He crossed the Serbian border into Bosnia yesterday morning, Campara said. The Wahhabis are an extremely conservative branch that is rooted in Saudi Arabia and linked to militants in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Western intelligence reports say that the impoverished area of Sandzak and Muslim-dominated regions in Bosnia are rich ground for recruiting “white al-Qaida” — Muslims with Western features who could easily blend in in European or U.S. cities and carry out attacks. (Columbus Dispatch, via Drudge)

In Afghanistan the Taliban claimed responsibility for the suicide attack that killed 13 Americans saying they packed a four-wheel-drive vehicle with 700 kg of explosives. (video at BBC)

The assault on the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) convoy took place in the Darulaman area in the west of the city, near the national museum.

The former royal palace, now in ruins, is also in the area, along with several government departments, and Afghan and foreign military bases. [snip]

Also on Saturday, three Australians and an Afghan linguist were killed in Uruzgan province in southern Afghanistan when an attacker wearing an Afghan National Army uniform opened fire on them, authorities in neighbouring Kandahar province said.

Violence across Afghanistan is at its worst since the start of the war 10 years ago, according to the United Nations, despite the presence of more than 130,000 foreign troops. (France 24)

A reporter with AP news agency at the scene said the back of a Nato bus appeared to have been blown apart and was a charred shell. Nato helicopters were seen taking away casualties. [snip]

It was the deadliest incident since the Taliban shot down a US helicopter in August, killing 30 US special forces. [snip]

 On Thursday the Taliban said it was behind an attack on a compound housing Western officials and military personnel in the city of Kandahar. The attack was repelled after a 15-hour battle.

The US is planning to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan and hand over security to local forces by 2014.  (BBC)

In Baghdad Iraq on Thursday, twin bombings killed 18 people and injured 36 no Americans were involved.  This violence comes after President Barack Obama declared the full withdrawal of U.S. forces at the end of the year.  Violence is expected to increase.  

But there is some GOOD NEWS...
