As Democrat politicians and left-wing institutions embrace the "Occupy Wall Street" protesters apparently without really knowing who they are, what they represent, or what they want, the rest of us ask the question, "Who are they?". We now know the answer to that question, obtained from direct polling of the Occupy participants. In brief:
What binds a large majority of the protesters together—regardless of age, socioeconomic status or education—is a deep commitment to left-wing policies: opposition to free-market capitalism and support for radical redistribution of wealth, intense regulation of the private sector, and protectionist policies to keep American jobs from going overseas. (Douglas Schoen, Wall Street Journal)
Douglas Schoen's polling firm interviewed nearly 200 protesters in New York's Zuccotti Park, claiming their findings probably represent the first systematic random sample of Occupy Wall Street opinion. The findings are very interesting, but not surprising to those of us who have been following the movement from the beginning. Unlike their claims, Occupy does not represent unemployed America and is not ideologically diverse. They are in favor of radical redistribution of wealth, civil disobedience (98%) and violence (31%).
Any politician supporting this group, whether Democrat or Republican, will most likely regret that support. I do not believe White House adviser David Plouffe is correct when he says "the protests you're seeing are the same conversations people are having in living rooms and kitchens all across America".
An overwhelming majority of demonstrators supported Barack Obama in 2008. Now 51% disapprove of the president while 44% approve, and only 48% say they will vote to re-elect him in 2012, while at least a quarter won't vote.
U.S. President Barack Obama may be trying to play both sides as he usually does. At the Martin Luther King' memorial dedication in Washington he said "Dr. King would want us to challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing those who work there".
I'm afraid it has gone further than simply demonizing those on Wall Street. As Investors Business Daily points out, there are numerous videos of the U.S. flag being desecrated; shouts of "F--K the USA"; and pre-planned Woodstock-style nude/lewd activities. IBD asks why would Obama want to associate himself with these 'America haters'. Well, ... birds of a feather flock together as the old saying goes. Obama's hate for the US and his desire to bring this country down are nothing new. Why wouldn't he want to associate with like-minded people?
The President's Strange Bedfellows? Not really. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad approves, and that's not all...
Why is it that the most despicable entities on the face of the planet are enthusiastically on the side of the Occupiers, along with the president?
The American Nazi Party celebrates Occupy as part of "the attack on Judeo-Capitalism."
And the Communist Party U.S.A. calls Occupy "the newest wrinkle in the all-people's upsurge against the banks and corporations" that "reflects a new level of class-consciousness."
Meanwhile, both Russia's Vladimir Putin and Communist China's government have had favorable comments about the demonstrations. (IBD)
Now that everyone knows who these people are, I'm more proud than ever to support Herman Cain for president. He said, "Don't blame Wall Street, don't blame the big banks, if you don't have a job and you're not rich, blame yourself". Go Cain!

(On another note, electric fences do not KILL people or animals, (neither do signs) they simply apply enough of a shock as to get the person's attention and dissuade them from handling the fence (or climbing over it to enter the United States illegally) Cain proving again that some people are stupid and have no sense of humor.

In my discussions on their Facebook pages, I'm finding a lot of anti-Semitic people.

It's not a coincidence that they are erupting while the United States and Europe are suffering from major economic crises -- brought about, by, guess who?

Leave it to the LEFT to jump all over Cain's remarks about the fence. He has to take care not to give them ammunition. The electorate is so ignorant that they believe only the "sound bites" laid out by the LSSM (the extra S is for socialist)
I got it but those who haven't been around cattle fences don't have a clue.
I can testify that they will definitely get your attention and if it is wet it creates MORE attention than one wants to experience. Hahaha.

Snake Hunter Sez,
This Article Asks A Fair Question, But No Answer.
So, allow me to try:
Joseph Stiglitz is the key Obama Advisor to the Wall Street Protest Planning, and that takes big bucks to pull it off nation-wide; it's not just the financial center in New York City.
Now, George Soros is a welcomed visitor to the White House, and Andy Stern, the big Union Boss of S.E.I.U. tops the visitor list...
