Geithner: 'Privilege of Being an American' Is Why Rich Need Higher Taxes
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, speaking this morning on CNBC:
"That’s the kind of balance you need," said Geithner. "Why is that the case? Because if you don't try to generate more revenues through tax reform, if you don't ask, you know, the most fortunate Americans to bear a slightly larger burden of the privilege of being an American, then you have to -- the only way to achieve fiscal sustainability is through unacceptably deep cuts in benefits for middle class seniors, or unacceptably deep cuts in national security." NO NO NO NO
The only true way to achieve fiscal sustainability is to slash government, ALL government, starting with the czars, the useless departments, ... stop the spending. The largest employer is government, this should not be.
Geithner is using the same old scare tactics that Liberals have used for years, ... scaring the elderly and those living off the government, and those who believe one of the main purposes of the federal government is to protect this country with a strong military.
That's how the Liberal/Progressives believe. Too bad they are wrong and leading this country down the tubes.
Being able to keep most of what you earn should be privilege of being an American. Being able to choose where you live, to choose if you want to purchase something (or not), to choose what kind of vehicle you want to drive, to choose how much education you get, to choose how your want your money and taxes spent, the right to CHOOSE, to be FREE, to be UNBURDENED by government -- that is the privilege of being an American, or at least it has been.
When government spends more than it takes it, the hard-working American citizen is always expected to step up and pay more.
Government is like a gambler, addicted to betting, spending, no matter what the result. Government is like a gambler who always loses and expects some schmuck in the family who has worked hard, scrimped and saved to get by, to come up with enough money to save the gambler from his loan shark. Then they go out and do it all over again.
The only problem is the taxpayers have no choice, government forces us to fork over our money to bail them out.
Backwards? Yeah thats for sure. Why do people think Obama and his goons are smart? This dumb S of B is'nt smart...he does'nt even know basic economics ! What these morons are doing to the country is a crime. The Koom by Ya philosophy did'nt work in the 70's and 80's , why would these turds think it's gonna work now ? These Entitlement thieves have the mindset that whats mine should be shared with everybody. What caused the Soviet Union to collapse? Even China has more economic freedom than we do, and it shows with their economy. I don't get how this piddler can be Treasury Secretary....he's a dooofus !
