The sad fact is that when we "left" Afghanistan after helping messers bin Laden and Abu Sayyaf defeat the Soviets that vacuum was blamed on allowing the Taliban to gain power, who enhanced AQ.

So we tried to bring the place into the 21st century and that's not working either.

The only thing left appears to be retreat with a strong warning.

But if we threaten to irradiate the place after the next terror attack we'll need irrefutable evidence to do it, which might be impossible if the attack comes via proxy.

Not much any president can do.

Snake Hunter Sez,

It's a huge mistake to try to bring these primative Afgans into the 21st century. That would take more time, blood & treasure than any civilized nation can reasonably afford.

It's pure folly to become deeply involved in any society that has a belief structure that imposes the death penalty on humanitarian efforts for modernity.

Their so-called holy book, the Qur'an, is a Manual of War that too few christians & jews take the time to read!

What we can no longer tolerate is a president that is clearly in sympathy with the Muslim Brotherhood, and their obvious systematic 'Seven Phase Plan' For World Domination by the Year 2020.

We should have sharpshooters around our bases and embassies over there and is someonein the riot shows up with an AK-47 or othjer offensive weapon take him out. Also the film on TV of those guys getting ambushed in the SUV I have to say if that was me I would be doing about 50 MPH 2 seconds after the first shot. I sure as hell wouldn't be stopping and backing up. I watched that riot on TV news and there was not a single Afghan there who was not out to kill an American and therefore they were fair game.

Mark my words...

"Mr. Obama" is going to use this to pull out early, prior to the elections so he can claim he stopped two wars.

The truth be known, some poor soldier, doing what he told to do, burned their holy book(s). That's all and "Mr. Obama" will use it for full currency and reelection.

If we are stupid enough to reelect this guy, we are the most stupid people on earth.

If a Republican is elected, there will be violence in the street that we have not seen since Chicago 68 and the numerous disturbances in Watts, and it will be centered in area's controlled by the democrat administrations and heavily union based electorates. Why? Because they know the union, democrat based transfer of wealth will be over!

Another thing, Why do you think that "Mr. Obama" has supported the Arab spring in LIBYA and EGYPT and not in IRAN and SYRIA?

LIBYA has no direct connection with the borders of Israel and is not a real threat, EGYPT has a direct border with Israel. SYRIA is supported by IRAN, without IRAN, SYRIA is no longer a threat to Israel! "Mr. OBAMA" will do anything to put pressure on Israel, Supporting the Arab Spring for certain nations, does just that!

Fire, blood and pain is in our future, but I have to say, either we get this guy out in November or we are going to pay for it for the next 4 years. If this happens, Our Nation will be a pale image of the great nation we once were!

Is there anyone that thinks that Tuesday, November 6th is going to be just anther election day, a true crossroads for our country to be sure!

Obama out in 2012!

PALADIN

@JON A UNDERWOOD Jon you hit the nail on the head. I fully expect the ghettos to erupt if Obummer is turfed in Nov. There will be all sorts of accusations of the vote being rigged and whitey will take the heat for it. Thats what this turd from Chicago has given us, division, the biggest deficit in history, political correctness , and the suicide of the Nation. I ask myself how everyone got so complacent? SANTORUM IN 2012 !

JON A UNDERWOOD

Paladin,

Santorum gives us the very best representative and very clear choice from another 4 years of this crapola that "Mr. Obama" has saddled us with!

Right Wing Theocrat

Unfortunately you are right, the time to leave has come, the west has neither the will nor the money to do another Germany/Japan in afghanistan. So long as islam is there, it can never get better and whatever we do will be replaced as soon as we leave by the savages and barbarians.

Perhaps if some terrorists from there come to the US and murder a couple hundred thousand and there's a liberal president in charge, the west will finally unleash its full fury, wipe the place out and start again. Mind you it'll be hard to justify rebuilding it again since it's a dirt bowl without anything unique to offer.
