Civilian flight simulator programs are amazingly real and amazingly accurate.

In my world of Copdom, we had various driver training simulators that catered to EVOC programs. There were driver training stations and programs that had to fall under POST that were, basically, pieces of crap.

If I wanted accuracy in driving, so to speak, I could have purchased an X-Box and ramped up any number of driver sims for HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars LESS than what my department and many others paid to proprietary materials.

And those expensive programs were PRIMITIVE in comparison to free market software.
