Beltway Republicans wrongly excited.... Condi Rice has many strikes against her that cannot be overlooked. First, she is pro-abortion, or pro-choice as the murderers of unborn babies like to say. Second, she served under George W. Bush, which is a negative to many voters. Third, is she the president-in-waiting that we want for future elections when Romney is gone?
We are supposed to look over her pro-abortion stance because, well, she is just mildly pro-choice, whatever that means ...
Rice has described her views on the issue as "mildly pro-choice." She said in a 2008 60 Minutes interview: "I myself am someone who believes strongly in parental notification. ... I'm against late-term abortion, which is, I think, really very cruel." But, Rice added, "I have not wanted to see the law changed because it's an area that I worry about the government being involved in." (Weeky Standard)
Is mildly pro-choice something like being a little pregnant, or a little dead? There is no such thing.
Sarah Palin is the delight of the TEA Party and strong Conservatives, but even she drank the kool-aid. Palin said, “I think that Condoleezza Rice would be a wonderful vice president, and she certainly has much more experience than our sitting president does today...” . Really Sarah? Really?
How are the Republicans going to deal with this? One idea:
But picking Rice would be problematic for Romney because that would either require Romney to break his pledge to pick a pro-life VP or require Rice to change her position on abortion. (Weekly Standard)
Oh, you mean she needs to flip-flop, go against her beliefs, lie, in order to get Mitt Romney elected?
Come on. Is that really what we want in a candidate?
If Romney wants a Black VP, why not Allen West, who would be a fantastic president-in-waiting. West is genuine, he doesn't need to flip-flop on anything.
Rice has repeatedly said she is not interested and would not accept the VP slot. I pray she keeps her word.
As to the Mitt Romney campaign, it has been suggested that all this hype about the VP pick is to stir interest, continue to bring in donations. Could be. But I doubt he will get many donations from pro-life voters. For Drudge, the hits keep coming.
Any politician who is pro-abortion should immediately be disqualified as a Republican candidate. Period. Move along.
Some things should not exist, like gray-colored meat in a grocery store meat department, or a deli waitress with sores on her lip, -- or a Republican candidate who thinks there is nothing wrong with killing unborn babies.

Both Democrats and Republicans have already rejected female VP candidates far more in tune with their core beliefs than Rice.
I'd prefer someone such as Allen West, John Bolton, Andrew Napolitano, etc.

Yes, the fact that Romney even considers Rice as a VP choice further cements my position of sitting out the 2012 election. His RINO nature just seems to leak out at every turn.
Obama may win in November. So be it. I will not compromise my conservative principles. I will not support another RINO. Compromise is the primary cause of the decline of the United States. The only way to rid the Republican party of RINOs is to refuse to vote for them when they serve them up to us. The did not learn this in 2008. Thet still have not learned.

Oh yes, our girl Sarah suffers from the compromise, support the party, let's just all get along syndrome. I had the same feeling about her when she supported McCain in his senate race.
Palin cannot be trusted.

This would be a huge mistake. Not only on the abortion issue, but this would play right in to the Dems narrative of "Bush's Fault" I can see the Dems ad now. "Romney has chosen a VP who was in the Bush Admin, do we really want to go back to the type of Administration that got us in to this mess?"
Independence did not care for the Bush Admin at all, in his last two years. This would send a message to Ind. who won't vote for Obama, to stay home on Nov 6th.... Something this country can ill-afford!

Agree with Mark and Debbie. Rice would be blasted as soon as the announcement was made for being a Bush stooge who helped lie us into a war Obama never supported. There would be absolutely no fear of Democrats being called racist for making the charges either.

Minus column:
-Pro-abortion
-RINO
-Bush connections
-Decided that Hamas should 'participate' in the Gaza elections (one time, one vote), which didn't work out too well.
-A expert on Russian whatever is not a high priority just now
-Never held elected office
Plus column:
-Black & female
-Experienced at the highest levels
- ? ? ?
Allen West or Victor Davis Hanson would be my picks - I like Judge Andrew Napolitano but I'm not sure the world is ready for a shake-it up, libetarian who can think logically. Bolton is good, but he doesn't seem to have the cohones - anyway he might be needed at State or the UN
