A restaurant in Texas is reportedly offering unique, (according to some) politically incorrect discounts based on the looks of its customers, proving to me that some people still have a sense of humor, and some don't:
A receipt from Dallas-based Twisted Root Burger Co. gave a two-cent discount to one customer for having the “Best Butt” and for being “Best Looking.”
It was a penny off for each winning attribute.
The discount became known online when Reddit user “caraficionado24″ posted the photo with the comment, “A friend of mine got complimented rather sneakily at Twisted Root Burger.”
“The person who received it was a female,” Jason Boso, the owner of the restaurant told WND, adding the employee who gave her the receipt “is male and is single, so I’m sure he did it because he was hitting on her.”
“We have one or two people sending email saying were sexist with that,” Boso added. “Maybe I am a little sexist, but 99 percent think it’s funny, so I’m gonna go with the 99 percent. We don’t let the haters decide what we do.”
Boso’s restaurant, which has seven locations in Texas, also offers discounts for:
- Best Hair
- Best Smile
- Best Laugh
- Best Eyes
- Sexiest Person
- Nicest Person
- Biggest Flirt
- Most Likely to Succeed
The photo of the receipt has already prompted potential interest from CNN’s Anderson Cooper and at least one radio show for Thursday morning.
Boso, 39, went to culinary school after a not-so delicious experience in the corporate world.
He explains, “When I was 28 years old I was fired from my corporate job for doing something that everyone wants to do. I told a customer off, I mean I really let them have it. I told them exactly what I thought of them and I pulled no punches. I would say I used more than one or two expletives. Needless to say, I was promptly fired.”
Before opening his own burger joint, he was a chef for the Four Seasons Resort and Hotel in Las Colinas, Texas.
“I don’t want our irreverent personalites to [define] who we are,” Boso told WND. “I’m still a chef, classically trained. We’re just having fun doing it. We’re still a couple of locals serving a great hamburger.”
Managers who are late for meetings are forced to wear a burger costume at Twisted Root Burger Co.
The irreverence of Twisted Root Burger is evident on the company’s Facebook page, where a colorful photo of its accountant in a hamburger costume is prominently displayed.
“This is JJ, our accountant, hard at work yesterday. As you can tell, our dress code is strictly business casual,” the caption reads.
Boso explains the costume-wearing has to do with their weekly managers meeting.
“Whatever manager shows up last or late to the meeting has to wear the burger outfit throughout the meeting,” he said, noting he’s never had to don the outfit.
“I was late once, but I lied and gave a good excuse. But I’m the boss and I believed my own lie.” (WND)

But of course, there has to be a fly in the ointment from the PC police to try and spoil it for the rest.
Oh well, I bet DWS would never get a discount at the place. :)

But the real issue is are they giving these discounts to enough diverse groups. If not then we need affirmative action to make sure "protected" groups get a fair share.
