The Obama campaign has put out a number of commercials which can be placed in groups, for example the group of commercials which claim criminal activity by Romney. You know what I mean, for example the one claiming Romney/Bain was responsible for a woman’s death (even though it happened years AFTER Romney left Bain, etc.), etc. Then there is the whole “war on women” group of commercials. But most recently one of the latter group may also qualify to be in an entirely new group, I’m just not sure what to call the group. This commercial has reached an all time low for multiple reasons.
The commercial “Your First Time,” profiling a first time voter is insulting to women, insulting to youth (the first time for everyone is not great), and is actually pretty adolescent even for an Obama commercial. Just who is this actress? Is the star of the video, Lena Dunham, by any chance related to Barack Obama’s mother whose maiden name was Dunham. A cursory Google check showed that Stanley Ann Dunham was not a descendent of someone on the 1620 Mayflower, but rather from a ship of the same name which arrived in Plymouth nine years later. Whereas Lena Dunham’s father claims be a Mayflower descendant - I could not verify this, nor could I determine which Mayflower his ancestor sailed on to this country. Perhaps someone else can prove, or disprove, a family link. None the less, it is just a little curious that of all the actresses who voted for the first time in 2008 that the one chosen just happens to be named Dunham.
So now to the categories of “Romney is a criminal,” the “war on women,” and creepy (e.g. the Big Bird as a kind of shadow in a big city) commercials we might be able to add Obama family. Alternatively there may be some other category it can fall under besides “commercials the left thinks will offend the right, but the right just sees as more Obama lies or sheer stupidity.” Any suggestions?

On the upside there are a couple of very funny vidoes lampooning this awful video.
