Except for the taxes we pay, the food and cattle and dairy we produce, the oil and coal we produce, and on and on and on...

Or as Obama calls them, bitter clingers.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has some harsh words for rural America: It’s “becoming less and less relevant,” he says.
A month after an election that Democrats won even as rural parts of the country voted overwhelmingly Republican, the former Democratic governor of Iowa told farm belt leaders this past week that he’s frustrated with their internecine squabbles and says they need to be more strategic in picking their political fights.
“It’s time for us to have an adult conversation with folks in rural America,” Vilsack said in a speech at a forum sponsored by the Farm Journal. “It’s time for a different thought process here, in my view.”
He said rural America’s biggest assets – the food supply, recreational areas and energy, for example – can be overlooked by people elsewhere as the U.S. population shifts more to cities, their suburbs and exurbs.
“Why is it that we don’t have a farm bill?” Vilsack said. “It isn’t just the differences of policy. It’s the fact that rural America with a shrinking population is becoming less and less relevant to the politics of this country, and we had better recognize that and we better begin to reverse it.”

I think this is becoming the trend elsewhere as well, the farmers are being overlooked and ignored.
Perhaps they need to organize and slow down production a bit, perhaps when prices for food go up or it runs out, city people might figure out that food doesn't really come from the local grocery store.

When the farmer is hurt badly food production is down. Let us go a few years with bad droughts, poor production, and using food for fuel and see if the farmer matters.

This doesn't surprise me that was said.
Remember when Obamugabe was in Pennsylvania in 08..."those nasty rural people hold on to guns and their religion"...so ya , it's no surprise.
And we will hold tight to our right to bear arms, it's the only thing that's keeping us from being subjugated.
More and more everyday i see this country going down the drain...being run and administered like some African 3rd world banana republic shithole.
With ObaMugabe's hatred of white America , i don't find it surprising that he thinks rural America is irrelevant.
I'd like to see the worthless turd grow his own food, and work as hard as the farmers and ranchers of this country.
Of course he could never do it, he's been an entitlement whore all his life.
One paralell that is similar is Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe, which went from being a food exporter when he took power to being dependant for food today.
He is taking us down the same road.
Yep the name fits.....OBAMUGABE.

Libs exposing what they really think of 'flyover country'. We're seeing more of b. hussein nobama and his "more flexibility" comment manifest as he drags the country down the socialist drain.

Mr. Paladin,
Obama's 'Entitlement Slugs' will be shocked when there is less food in our markets, and much higher prices for what is available! Then, what will those food-stamps buy?
>>
Egypt now imports 50% of their food, and prices are
climbing out of sight, and Muslim Brotherhood Dictator Mohamed Morsi will be in very serious trouble by June of 2013, or sooner! Will Morsi then attack Libya for their Oil Fields?
>>
Prediction: Obama's "Nanny State" will fail in 2014... when his fraudulent promises are unfulfilled.
>>
Oh, what a tangled web Barry Obama & Mohamed Morsi weaves, when first they practice to deceive!

@ Mr SnakeHunter my friend : You are 100% correct.
I don't even know if the Obamugabe will be able to give food stamps by the time 2014 rolls around.
We went from 20 some million people on food stamps in 08 to almost 47 million now.
If that is not a sign of failed economic policy , what is ?
All one has to do is look at Greece and see where we are headed.
there are plenty of people in Greece going hungry today because the Governments pockets are empty.
When the money runs out here.....and it will, i don't know what those people are gonna do.
I do know how they will react though, and it won't be pretty.
They will be coming to our doorsteps to take what we got, and they won't be saying, please may I ?

The Obama regime wants to make the values of "rural America" irrelevant, too.
"City folk" like to look down on "country folk" as dumb hicks. But just let those city folk try to grow or raise what they need to eat, and they'll find out that country folk are not dumb at all.

IF & WHEN Famine Spreads Across Europe and the Middle East... and food grains suddenly become more valued than petroleum... then we shall all see both North & South America becoming far more... RELEVANT! - reb
