Via the Weekly Standard:
Not everyone will have to abide by Senator Dianne Feinstein's gun control bill. If the proposed legislation becomes law, government officials and others will be exempt.
"Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel," the Washington Times reports.
The Huffington Post confirms these exemptions, and adds that guns owned prior to the legislation becoming law will be permissible, too. "[T]he bill includes a number of exemptions: It exempts more than 2,200 hunting and sporting weapons; any gun manually operated by a bolt, pump, lever or slide action; any weapons used by government officials and law enforcement; and any weapons legally owned as of the date of the bill's enactment."
The bill's measures include stopping "the sale, manufacture and importation of 158 specifically named military-style firearms and ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. It would also ban an additional group of assault weapons that accept detachable ammunition magazines and have at least one military characteristic," according to the Huffington Post.
The left-leaning website adds: "Other new provisions include requiring background checks on all future transfers of assault weapons covered under the bill and eliminating the 10-year sunset that allowed the original ban to expire."
Wirecutter says:
Here's a list of guns that Feinstein wants banned. For an easier photo to read, story and a disgusting video, go HERE. Warning: If you have a weak stomach or frail nerves, don't watch the video. It'll scare the sh-t out of you and probably make you puke.
I like the one about the Ruger M/14CF 'rife' - dumbass doesn't realize that there's absolutely no difference between that and a Mini-14 Ranch 'rife' except for the stock?
Oh well, ...
As Rand Paul said in an email:
And make no mistake, the gun-grabbers’ TRUE motives behind gun registration is always the same -- outright gun CONFISCATION, and to do that they must first register every gun and gun owner.
Sign your Emergency Second Amendment Protection Directive and put yourself squarely on the record AGAINST the Feinstein's Gun Ban.

I wonder if Hollywood is exempted...

Good question R.J. I'm also wondering if the Rap and Hip Hop community is exempted.

I just saw the clip of Biden declaring that there was no sporting need for an assault rifle: "If you miss a deer ten times, perhaps you shouldn't be hunting..."
Since WHEN is sporting exclusive to hunting? What about simple plinking?
And where does he get off complaining that the police are threatened by assault rifles. The police serve the PEOPLE -- they are at the bottom of the food chain.
The Second Amendment was put in place to give the people a way of controlling the government. This makes the individual citizen the APEX of the priority chain, not governments, officials, police, etc.

The Left is trying to make this about hunting, it has nothing to do with hunting. I don't recall anything in the Constitution about hunters and guns, it is about protecting ourselves from government and anyone else that would threaten us.
We always allow them to frame the discussion, to choose the words that are used especially when those words have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

The entirety of the Bill of Rights came from Jefferson's observation of the French Revolution. Priests and other clergy were thrown into jail and/or killed for their beliefs (henceforth, the First Amendment). People were brutalized and could not defend themselves (hence, the Second Amendment).
The whole prospect of the Constitution was to place reins upon government and to guarantee that the people would prevail over any circumstance regarding confrontation with the government.
Hunting never remained an issue because it was a necessity much like breathing. No one ever thought of the need to legislate breathing because everyone did it.
