With all the news about guns today (see below), especially that Barack Obama may use executive order to force gun control of some form, I read this:

This is an oddball post if I’ve ever seen one. Before final passage of the bill, Harry Reid managed to slip into Obamacare protection for gun owners that prevents the government from collecting any information relating to “lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition“. This was added, according to CNN, as a “relatively benign way to make sure the National Rifle Association didn’t get involved with this.”

But CNN also points out that Harry Reid was singing a different tune back in 2010 as he was trying to court 2nd amendment voters in his state for his upcoming reelection – even inviting NRA’s Wayne LaPierre to speak at a gun range in his state. And true to form after the Aurora, Colorado movie theater massacre 2012, Reid wasn’t interested in the slightest about changing gun laws, saying “with the schedule that we have, we’re not going to get into a debate on gun control.” This was after he had won his 2010 reelection, of course, but in the midst of a heated presidential race.

So how does Reid explain his change of opinion on gun control now? According to his staff his opinion on gun control is evolving: “The Senate majority leader’s views on gun control are changing. He’s in a different place than he was in 2010.”

Gun Controls By Executive Order – Biden Lets Agenda Slip…,  (via The Last Refuge)

“The president is going to act,” said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. “There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken. We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”

But you need a more heavy leverage to justify Executive Orders which circumvent legislation. Enter Joe Biden: Washington (CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden described his gun control effort as a “moral issue” when meeting with gun safety advocates and mass shooting victims on Wednesday morning.

“When I think of all the tragedies that we have endured, I don’t think anything has touched the heart of the American people so profoundly as seeing those and learning of those young children not only being shot but riddled with bullets,” he said, referring to the December 14 shooting at the elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.  (more)

I have to say that I think a lot of this in the liberal press is to sucker, yes sucker some poor fool into pulling the trigger prior to any decisions being made.

This will give the left even more ammunition than Alex Jones, and his asinine actions did in the interview with Piers Morgan on his show.

Example:

The President did not state in anyway that Ambassador Rice was his selection for Secretary of State but all the right ran with it and after all the hymn and haw about her and the Benghazi incident, she walks and then the same person that was "swift boated" in his run for President, now is a walk for Secretary of State?

Jon: You could be right. They seem to leak everything, see how it spins with both the Left and Right, and the media. The media does their bidding. We get all stirred up about it.

But we know Obama has used executive orders on to many items already

Obamugabe can't usurp the "Rule Of Law" if he does by declaring executive order , then he is inviting a major response from the people.
i.e. protests, court challenges, and outright civil disobedience.

And people thought this piece of manure would bring the country together?

The USA has never been more divided.
