Gun Owners versus Enemies of the State: R.J. Godlewski’s Reflections upon the Second Amendment.

I wish that any member of the Progressive movement or the mainstream media that implies that gun owners are criminal would go fornicate with their iPads®, Notebooks, or whatever other instrument of communication they prefer to use to spread their hatred, lies, and insinuations. I hate them almost as much as I hate any politician who says something to the effect of “I support the Second Amendment, but I believe in responsible gun laws such as eliminating “assault rifles.” Listen, folks. I am going to provide you with a two-second introduction to the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment guarantees citizens the right to keep and bear arms to defend the country against its own government. Period. Any federal or state restriction upon firearms ownership remains nothing less than providing bank robbers with the keys to the vault or putting the KKK in charge of human rights commissions.

As for those who believe that gun owners are criminals, when was the last time that criminals preferred to own firearms. Statistically and historically, criminals stole the guns, purchased them via the black market, or otherwise procured them for the crime at hand. After which, they ditched the guns. American gun owners, however, treasure their firearms as much as Arabs treasure horses. We care for them, maintain them, protect them, and never use them to intentionally destroy or injure human life. As I write these words, some 80 million gun owners within the United States have never lifted a finger to harm another living soul and will never do so unless they have to protect a loved one, their neighbors, or simply another member of the public.

Now, let us consider the Progressives. Since 1973 they pushed – often violently, always aggressively – for the wanton murder of 45+ million unborn (and many just-born) infants whose sole crime was that they were not wanted by their mothers or Leftist society. How many more murders is that than have been killed by American gun owners since 1776? Next, they have stood in the way of nearly all civil rights legislation since and including the emancipation of slaves on through segregation of schools and equal opportunities in the workplace. They have single-handedly shattered African-American families and insulted families of former slaves by equating them with homosexuals and transvestites. Gun owners, to the contrary, were amongst the first Americans to rise up against slavery. Gun owners were the first to declare to King George III that all men were created equal.

And who, precisely, were the ones that assassinated our presidents? Anarchists, socialists, and communists. Attempted murderers of our presidents came from the likes of those aspiring to Charles Manson and Hollywood. If but for one gun owner nearby, we might have saved several presidents, honorable citizens, and distinguished executives. Instead, the Progressive mentality lead to the death of CIA employees right outside the gate of the Agency compound at Langley, military recruiters serving their country, several police officers eating at a restaurant and 13 brave soldiers down at Fort Hood. Not to mention that Progressive-controlled cities such as Washington, D.C. and Chicago, IL rear most of the crimes within the country.

All law-abiding gun owners within the United States, including several million owners of so-called “assault weapons” – more properly defined as “modern firearms” as no one would label a Nikon D4 as an “assault camera” even if a paparazzi used it to run a future Princess Diana off the road – defend the Constitution as well as Congress and the Presidency despite their hostility towards the citizenry. Gun owners believe that the U.S. Constitution represents the law of the nation and cannot be dismissed or reinterpreted without constitutional amendment. Ask how many Progressives can make that claim.

Gun owners single-handedly keep one of America’s oldest industries flourishing despite the worst-ever economy that Progressives thrust upon their nation. Gun owners also keep their family budgets intact and educate their children, something that Progressive Liberals cannot – or will not – do. More police officers, soldiers, and federal agents start out life as gun owners than gun owners have started out life as police officers, soldiers, or federal agents.

Today, the U.S. Army is spending $2000 per day teaching a limited number of its soldiers how to identify and operate AKM rifles (what the media and politicians wrongfully claim as AK-47s, which have been out of production since the 1950s). Gun owners do so for less than $500 per year. And no self-respecting gun owner claims to own an AK-47 anyway. Your humble author, for one, always mentions the proper AKMS, AMD-65, AK-74, etc. The Progressive media, apparently, likes to plagiarize one another.

For a movement that fashions a 5,000 page piece of legislation just to tell citizens what doctor to patronize, it may seem ridiculous that they cannot comprehend a mere fourteen words: “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Of course, they are still trying to redefine the singular word: “Militia” which, historically, has meant every able-bodied man that can rise to the occasion and defend his nation (Hollywood understood this by at least 1939 when they produced the movie Drums Along the Mohawk, but leave it to the movie industry to forget their own heritage).

When the Progressives shatter what is left of the United States, sink its Dollar into oblivion, and force entire cities to turn upon their neighbors for food and medicine, it will not be gun owners that cause the chaos and destruction. But you can thank God that there will be gun owners around to protect this great nation of ours and (finally) run Progressive Liberals into jail for subverting this proud and prosperous nation. Then, unfortunately, our politicians will climb out from underneath their desks and claim some measure of credit for the effort…

R.J. As you saw in another post, it seems the term "assault" weapon is being used for anything that holds more than a couple of bullets. They use the term very carelessly.

Remember New Orleans and other places along the Gulf after Katrina? The only people who could defend their property were the gun owners, cops either ran or were too overwhelmed with violence and looting, they could not defend individual homeowners or businesses.
