November 6th, 1944... I clearly remember that day; our 10th Mtn Division's 616th F.A. was on a routine practice mission in the high Rocky Mtns of
Colorado when the exec officer announced that "Our allied troopers have landed in Normandy! ...(It was snowing at that elevation).

Months later, the 10th was in Napoli, Italy. - reb

Forgot to add...The Battle of Dunkirk was addressed wonderfully in the film, "Mrs. Miniver"...
