There have been so many media inquiries made to The Jawa Report and YouTube Smackdown about our involvement in the "Jihad Jane" case. We here at The Jawa Report and the YouTube Smackdown Corps were involved to varying degrees in tracking and "smacking down" her various YouTube videos and accounts. Ice Storm --UPDATED--

Above is a view from my back screen porch.  You can see my gazebo covered in show and ice.

Above you can see my walkway is covered in show and ice as is my patio area under a big tree.  The teak bench and chaise are sitting in show and ice.  Beyond that is my sun garden surrounded by boxwood shrubs.  Oh I can't want until summer.

 

Above is the corner of Penny the Beagle's fenced yard and beyond the trees is our road, where no vehicles have ventured since early Friday morning. 

 

In the lower section of this picture is the roof of my car, white Durango, with about 5 inches of snow and ice on it. 

We had a mixture of snow and ice, then on top of that is solid ice.  I was out today shoveling ice and snow off the stairs, putting out salt to help melt the ice.  Sweet hubby scraped ice and show off the windshields of his truck and my car, got the glaze off ice of the side windows, although neither one of us plans to attempt driving anywhere anytime soon, even with 4 wheel drive.  You see we live on a very steep hill near the river.  Driving would not be prudent! 

Hopeful by Tuesday we will start some serious thawing.  High temp today 29, tonight's low 9 degrees.  High tomorrow 25, then high Monday 40, high Tuesday 43.

I'm not a cold weather person at all.

Ode To A Fallen Blogger Friend

Roger Gardner of Radar's Site died this past week after suffering with leukemia for over a year.  Fellow bloggers remember him, his excellent writings at Radar's Site and at Liberty Street and Sansom Street which were some of his finest.

Roger was an older cat, with a rich life - serving Great Satan manning long watches on Early Warning Systems from back in Cold War time, art history professor, artiste' and generally a fully crunk, super savvy cat with a strong sense of history. His writing style was totally formidable and he never suffered fools gladly.

Way back in the day - Iraq was a mess - and despite seeing off two family members to pre Surge the place, "Defeat!", "Retreat!" and "Repeat!" seemed like the defeatist war cry dejour.

It was deceitfully depressing - and seemed, historically speaking - weirdly unAmerican.

Trekking about loose and unattended on the big bad web, yours truly magically collided with the one and only Roger W Gardner.

Roger had just pubbed a piece about Kasserine Pass. Essentially, even before Pearl Harbor, Great Satan kinda sat up and took notice of Deutschland's rowdy, racy Panzer Korps. And She began to bling R&D, industrial might and assembly line prowess to meet and exceed the armored spear that Germany used to blitz her enemies into defeat or drive them to the brink.

And the debut place d'armes was Kasserine Pass. And it was a disaster, a real catastrophe (unlike the fakebelieve ones today). Great Satan's own dear sons literally shot to pieces along with the best gear Detroit deployed in North Africa.

Yet less than 3 years later, American armored divisions liberated the most people, captured the most turf, killed and captured the most enemies while suffering the least casualities in the shortest amount of time ever in history.

 

Roger's target was that American free inquiry, willpower and firepower could be stymied now and then - but never defeated.

Another of Roger's amazing bits, hot and online at the time was the definative deconstruction of Imperial Mohammedist Sayid Qutbah - "Those Greeley Girls."

Finding both pieces online at a friends house - killing time before blitzing a party posse to the mall's cineplex - it was only a couple clicks to print both articles.

Hopping into the SUV, the five of us picked party Roddy - the guylinered rocker boi down the street. Moi earnestly reading the printed bits cashiered from Roger in the back seat. Jamming the jams loud, we ran straight into a roadblock conducted by the Highway Patrol.

Sitting behind Roddy (not his real name), engrossed in reading Roger, it was a bit of a surprise to receive an over the shoulder airborne drop of the dreaded cannabis sativa.

Well, great - I don't either!

So, as the patrol cat came up to the drivers window, moi stashed the stash - folded up in Roger's writings into britches so tight - they could have painted on.

Flashing the best smile money can buy and sweetly answering all the questions - the HP flagged us on through - even though their k9 partners were giving us the old evil eye.

As the dirty yellow waves of panic subsided, and the cineplex in sight, the sharp pain of a secreted stash became prominent and unless some type of semi nude gymnastics were carried out - it was nigh impossible to retrieve.


Thus began a long correspondance with Roger. He took interest in a goofy kid with audacious ideas and offered killer guidance, advice and a sounding board.

We often shot sparks off of each other - particularly to the concept that Mohammedism is /is not compatible with democracy and we both had to research and tighten up our debates.

Roger insisted that GrEaT sAtAn"S gIrLfRiEnD go online and NOT to mimic every other blog out there but follow Dr Wolftgang Ischinger's caveat that it is "funny, smart and tolerable in small doses."

And it all started the night Roger W Gardner got in my pants!

How AstroTurfing Works - Beware Of Fake 'Military ' Commenters -- Trolls

As most regular members of Joshua's Army know, I enabled comment moderation once the site began to become popular. I disliked doing it, but as I explained at the time, I really had little choice.

As blogs and online sources have become increasingly influential, tactics have been developed by partisan hacks to pervert the dialog that is one of the most attractive features on online commenting and interaction for their own political agendas.

The most common one is called 'astroturfing' and was pioneered by none other than President Obama's political consigliere, David Axelrod.It involves monitoring sites and having your operatives pose as legitimate commenters to spam the board, attack opposing viewpoints, abuse and ridicule the writer or opposing commenter and mostly take up the time and bandwidth of anyone who opposes your candidate by forcing them to respond to the attacks or look ridiculous.

Recently, on this thread, we had someone who represented himself as 'Spc. Patricks' , a soldier stationed in Iraq.

I correspond with a lot of both active duty and former military both on and off the site, and I'm always glad to hear from them...and I also never shy away from honest debate. His first two comments were relatively polite if misguided, so I devoted considerable time to giving him an answer, although it became obvious by his second comment that something didn't quite jibe, because he was simply talking past me. His last comment ( which I didn't publish) was pretty much diatribe, Democrat talking points and invective and it was obvious that he wasn't actually responding to any points I made or even really reading what I'd written...pure troll spam.

That's how many Americans feel this morning as they read the news.  I smell rebellion in the air, rebellion from sane Americans, rebellion from Catholics and Christian denominations, rebellion from Conservatives ...  US President Barack Obama's 'new tone of respect and diplomacy' (cough) on foreign policy has crashed and burned.  So what will he do now?  The economy continues to crash and burn as Obama begs Americans to write a personal check to the government to help bring down the debt.  I wonder if Lynn Stewart will be available to represent the terrorists?

Lawyer: 9/11 Defendants Will Tell Jury 'Why They Did It' FOX

NEW YORK  —  The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but "would explain what happened and why they did it."

Todd Beamer's father, David Beamer, was on Fox News this morning.  He attended the hearing in Congress with Eric Holder and he is furious.  His talk was eloquent, well thought out and well presented.  He calls on Americans to stand up and put America's house back in order with a regime change in 2010 and 2012.

Fjordman has a piece at Gates of Vienna in which introduces ideas he says he will write about at more length in an upcoming article. Here's the key passage:

I think we need to be realistic and realize that the current political-ideological order is completely broken and beyond repair. Instead of wasting time and energy on attempting to fix what cannot be fixed we need to prepare as best as we can for the coming crash and hopefully regroup to create something new and stronger afterward. There will be a pan-Western and perhaps international economic and social collapse in the not-too-distant future. I fear that this is too late to avoid by now. The people who support the ruling paradigm are too powerful and the paradigm contains so many flaws that it cannot be fixed. It needs to crash. We should focus on surviving this crash and on developing a new paradigm to replace the failed one.

Religious leaders are calling for civil disobedience if laws don't respect faith -- and I'm not talking about Islamic religious leaders, I'm talking Catholic, Christian leaders.

A formidable coalition of 150 Catholic, Orthodox and evangelical leaders are calling on Christians in a new manifesto to reject secular authority – and even engage in civil disobedience – if laws force them to accept abortion, same-sex marriage and other ideas that betray their religious beliefs.

With all this going on, what is the main stream media worried about?  They are obsessed with Sarah Palin's audiences and worried about who will replace Oprah.

Don't just sit back and watch the circus in New York City.  Get up and follow David Beamer's suggestion.  We need regime change in America and we need it now. 

Good gracious people -- the Catholic church and other Christians are calling for civil disobedience.  Think about that.  Fjordman may be right - "The people who support the ruling paradigm are too powerful and the paradigm contains so many flaws that it cannot be fixed. It needs to crash. We should focus on surviving this crash and on developing a new paradigm to replace the failed one."  Heaven help us all!  Fjordman goes on to say:

We need to learn from our enemies, both internal and external. The one thing I reluctantly admire about Marxists and Leftists of all stripes is above all their ability to organize and focus on long-term goals. Unfortunately, their goals are usually destructive, but we can and must learn from their organizational skills so that we can beat them at their own game. They must be squashed, otherwise we cannot deal rationally and adequately with our external enemies.

We must get rid of Feminism, which is destructive and merely an extension of Marxism, anyway. We must prepare as best as we can for a collapse of the US dollar and perhaps the Euro. We must document what is being done to us by treasonous elites for future references, for instance by making a video dedicated to anti-white verbal and physical violence around the world. We must take steps to ensure our physical safety and regain pride in our heritage.

We need to get rid of the EU, ridicule the UN and starve it for funds. I’m not sure whether we need NATO, either, although I’m willing to debate that part. The American defense umbrella may no longer be sustainable when the US economy fails.  [snip]

Some things are more important than politics.

I put politics aside and spent the day with my precious little Beagle dog, Miss Prissy, at the veterinarian's office.  After blood tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, a needle injected into her bladder and various other tests ... It was determined she has a bladder stone the size of a half-dollar and will require surgery to remove the stone.

In addition to the diagnosis of bladder stone, Miss Prissy has an enlarged heart, poorly functioning kidneys, and blood work that could indicate some form of cancer, although no cancer is apparent.

I will be taking Miss Prissy for surgery Monday morning and she will be staying at the vet's office for three days.

So my friends and foes, my pet is more important today than anything going on in politics.

However, R.J.  Godlewski has been kind enough to write an article for Right Truth and I will be posting in shortly.

Right Truth Influencing the Election

If you don't think blogs and the internet can have an influence on people and elections, think again.  I was contacted by a reporter this morning from WFMY News 2 in , Greensboro, NC.  Apparently some pamphlets were dropped in the yards of people with Obama signs that included information from an article at Right Truth on Barack Obama and his association with Khalid Mansour.  The reporter wanted to know if I knew anything about these flyer's.  I had no idea.

It seems to me that Conservatives and Republicans are doing the job that John McCain WON'T do -- attacking Barack Obama with the facts.

Imagine my surprise that Right Truth could be informing Republican voters and inspiring them to share information with Obama supporters.  I hope that the publication and sharing of these flyers was done in a legal, friendly, respectful manner.  Anyone using anything from Right Truth, or any other blog for that matter, needs to present themselves respectfully. 

I also encourage people using information from blogs to make sure that their sources are accurate, that the information is accurate and can be backed up by other sources.  None of us want to share information that is not accurate.  The Right Truth article that is apparently being shared with Obama supporters was a quote at Stop the ACLU:  More Radical Associates: Obama and Khalid Mansour,

Ironically, there is an article at Family Security Matters by Nicholas Guariglia today on Khalid Mansour, here's a quote:

Mansour is involved in the African investment activities of Kingdom Holdings, the investment company of Saudi Arabian Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal (who Rudy Giuliani famously rebuked at Ground Zero).  

Mansour sits on the boards of nearly a dozen conglomerates and banks all over the world. Oh, and just in case you didn’t think his resume was impressive enough, he’s also authored two dozen books. Richard Fernandez called Mansour “the human equivalent of the Nigerian e-mail scam.” 

Sounds too good to be true, right?  

Well, he’s real. He’s so real, and so influential, in fact, that he just might have pulled the proper strings to get Sen. Barack Obama into Harvard University some years ago.  

Infamous Percy Sutton, the former civil rights attorney for Malcolm X, now in his later years, was on a local New York show called “Inside City Hall” with host Dominic Carter. It was during his talk with Carter where Sutton brought up his support for Sen. Obama’s candidacy, and explained the first time he heard of young Barack. Sutton stated: 

I was introduced to him (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas (emphasis added)… He is the principle advisor to one of the world’s richest men. He told me about Obama.

Sutton continued:  

He wrote to me about him and his introduction was ‘there is a young man that has applied to Harvard and I know that you have a few friends left there because you used to go up there to speak, would you please write a letter in support of him?’… I wrote a letter in support of him to my friends at Harvard saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I sure hoped they would treat him kindly.  (continue reading)
