Somewhere, in the sacred mountains of Sinjar, not so far from where the Yazidis believe the Ark had come to rest some 5,000 years ago, this child and his mother have come to rest, hoping for the arrival of an all but mythical deliverer. The one event, the Ark's grounding, stands at the beginning of human history, significant, meaningful, presaging a new and hopeful journey for mankind. This other event stands at the end of the human narrative, shameful and inglorious, this child just another candle amongst many, to be extinguished and stamped into the bare hillside. The wind and the weather do the rest.
This may be the day that Mohammed will overtake them, first mocking and raping, then finishing them off, one by one. His excuse? These people, the Yazidis, are devil worshippers - thus spake Mohammed - and must convert or die. Look into the child's face and tell me if you can detect a devil worshipper. His would-be killers are not devil worshippers but devout followers of Allah, the god who demands the blood of children, be they Yazidi, Jewish, yours, or even muslims. The muzzles of their rifles preach the peace of the all-merciful Allah.
If only the stubborn Yazidis had worshipped the all-merciful instead of the devil they would not be endangered today. Allah declares the decree, this child will be sacrificed for the good of the world, Allah's world. The world will be cleansed of this child because he is a threat to Allah and the faithful. The world is too small for Allah and this little child.
Noah's name means Comfort and the family of eight members signified a new beginning for us all. Is this little child and his mother one of eight? Maybe. Did they hope to find comfort in these timeless hills? A desperate hope.
Instead of Noah, the butchers are coming, the ones with coal-black eyes, speaking an incomprehensible dialect.
This is pure Islam, devout, uncompromising, zealous. As inhuman as the stare of the Egyptian Sphinx and as contemptuous as the "wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command" on the visage of Ozymandias.
These child killers are nothing if not sincere followers in the footsteps of that most perfect of all human beings - in their eyes - Mohammed of Mecca.
Theirs would have been all oily smiles and humble bowing and scraping if they had been the minority in this land, eager to please and on the committees for furthering interfaith relations. Mosques they would have built, dedicated to "peace", hoping that you notice that their religion is the religion of peace. The little Yazidi child and his mother are learning the awful meaning of the peace of the prophet. The Mohammedans in minority would have assured their gullible neighbours, the infidels, that they too believed in Moses and Jesus, believing them to be great prophets. But, being the minority, they wouldn't tell you that they believed that when Jesus returned to Allah's world he would kill all the stubborn Jews and Christians in the same way that they plan to kill this stubborn little child dressed in pyjamas and in his frantic mother's arms. The child is one of a minority and the killers can be brave and fearless, they can rape and torture at will just like Mohammed.
If a child as sweet as this fails to find pity in the eyes of Mohammed, how will we and our children fare?
This child is our future, unless enough of us wake up before it's too late. Today they come for Yazidi, tomorrow.......
A word in the ears of the people who join with the Mohammedans on marches and boycotts. I wish you could be on that hillside and hear little Yazidi's cry and see his mother's tears. You should be there, it may break your stony hearts and shake you out of your criminal ignorance. Ask yourself, how do you think this child would fare if the soldiers were Israeli instead of Allah's slaves? In whose hands would you rather fall? Be honest, if you can. As long as you continue to believe a lie, you too are guilty - by association - of all the innocent blood which is being shed at this moment. That's an eternity of guilt. Deal with it, you will have to.
A word to the so-called moderate muslims. You sicken us by your silence and your hypocrisy. Why aren't you out protesting the indescribable wickedness of your co-religionists? Because you know in your heart of hearts that this is the truth about the religion handed down to you by your forefathers and you despicably hope that the world will one day be yours and your corrupt offspring. You too are blackened with guilt, by association.
I have news for you, there is a true God in heaven Who sees this wickedness and His patience is wearing thin. If you can muster the courage to turn your back on this evil cult, then do it, it could be the saving of your souls. Time is running out. You've already had more time than little 4 year old Yazidi has had.
One more comment. The evil ones wish to kill this child and his mother on the mountains of Sinjar for the purpose of defiling an area considered sacred by the Yazidis. They may die comfortless on Sinjar and the people to whom they belong shall continue comfortless as long as golf must be played and Portuguese beaches enjoyed by the vision-less leaders of the West.
