Saudi Man With Pressure Cooker Arrested in Detroit

 

A citizen of Saudi Arabia, Hussain Al Kwawahir, was arrested Saturday with a pressure cooker at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, less than one month after two bombs made with pressure cookers exploded at the Boston Marathon.

Al Kwawahir was charged Monday with altering his passport - a page was allegedly missing - and with lying about the pressure cooker, the Detroit News reports.

The suspect initially told Customs and Border Protection officers that he was visiting his nephew at the University of Toledo and "brought the pressure cooker... because the devices are not sold in the United States," the Detroit News reports, citing the criminal complaint against Al Kwawahir. "Later, he changed his story and admitted that his nephew had purchased a pressure cooker in the U.S. but it was cheap and broken."

According to The Associated Press, Al Kwawahir arrived at the Detroit airport Saturday from Saudi Arabia. The flight had a layover in Amsterdam.

The Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C., did not immediately respond to a request for comment from U.S. News. Immediately after the April 15 Boston bombing investigators briefly focused on a wounded Saudi student, questioning him and searching his apartment, but the student was cleared of any wrongdoing. The alleged culprits in that attack were ethic Chechens, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.  (continue at US News)

Saudi Arabia warns US Tsarnaev and three Pakistanis are potential jihadis

The Saudi embassy in Washington, D.C. today denied its government warned the U.S. about accused Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

However, according to the Daily Mail:

According to a highly placed source who spoke to MailOnline, the Saudis sent a written warning about Tsarnaev to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2012. That was long before pressure-cooker blasts killed three and injured hundreds.

The official told MailOnline about a written warning from the Saudi government to the Department of Homeland Security, and said he had direct knowledge of that document.

The Saudis' warning, the official told MailOnline, was separate from the multiple red flags raised by Russian intelligence in 2011, and was based on human intelligence developed independently in Yemen.

Citing security concerns, the Saudi government also allegedly denied an entry visa to the elder Tsarnaev brother in December 2011, when he hoped to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, the source said. Tsarnaev's plans to visit Saudi Arabia have not been previously disclosed.

 

So which is it?  Did Saudi Arabia alert the United States as the high ranking official told the Daily Mail?  If so, why is the Washington Saudi embassy denying it now?   More:

The Saudis' warning to the U.S. government was also shared with the British government. 'It was very specific’ and warned that 'something was going to happen in a major U.S. city,' the Saudi official said during an extensive interview.

It 'did name Tamerlan specifically,' he added. The 'government-to-government' letter, which he said was sent to the Department of Homeland Security at the highest level, did not name Boston or suggest a date for his planned attack.

Tamerlan may have boasted about his plans online, the Saudi official said, offering an explanation for how Yemen-based sources first learned of him. Islamist militants have well-developed social networks that can enable news to migrate quickly across vast distances.

The Saudi government sometimes tracks such radicals by launching fake jihadi websites to attract extremists. The Ministry of Interior then tracks them electronically, often across the world, and shares information with governments it considers friendly, including the United States.

'The Saudi Arabian government is doing everything it can to wipe out these people and treat America as a true friend,' the official said.

The Saudi intelligence services have a long history of providing credible information to America and Great Britain about looming threats.

'This is the fourth time the Saudi Arabian government has given the U.S. specific intel' about a possible terror plot, the official said, citing prior warnings about Richard Reid, the so-called shoe bomber who repeatedly tried to light a fuse in his shoe to bring down American Airlines flight 63 bound for Miami in December 2001.

He also cited the 300-gram 'ink-cartridge bombs' planted on two cargo planes headed for the United States from Yemen in October 2010. Those explosives were intercepted in Dubai, and at an East Midlands airport in Great Britain.  (The Daily Mail UK)

Homeland Security really screwed this up.  They were quick to announce that this was a lone wolf, there were no others involved, no future attacks planned.  They were WRONG on all counts.  This is what happens when you put political cronies with absolutely NO experience or training in positions of importance to the safety of this nation.

Report: Michelle Obama Visits Saudi National Alharbi in Hospital

Saudi exchange student, and Boston bombing victim, Ali- Alharbi is seen smiling while standing next to what appears to be a Saudi diplomat in the hospital. Arab News says the man is his father.

Yesterday, Michelle Obama reportedly visited Saudi national al-Harbi at the hospital in Boston.
Shoebat reported, via Free Republic:

The same prominent Saudi newspaper, that published photos of Abdul Rahman Ali Issa Al-Salimi Al-Harbi in the hospital after the Boston marathon bombings, is now reporting that the Saudi national was also visited by the first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama during his hospital stay.

Exactly what is that in the bottom, left-hand corner of the above image?  A stuffed bunny rabbit that has been destroyed?  What?  Just asking because it looks strange.

Of course, no actual arrest had been made, and CNN was reprimanded by the feds,but the damage of course was already done.  Meanwhile, in a desperate lunge back to political correctness King walked back the 'dark skinned' remark ...

[...] These are three Arab males at the Marathon before the bombing,one of whom appears to toting a back pack of the kind used for the bombs.

One of them has a striking resemblance to Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national who was apprehended leaving the scene of the bombing with his clothes smelling of gunpowder and made several curious statements, declaring "I thought there would be a second bomb" and "Did anyone die?"

We were told he was not a suspect but was still being held as a witness, 'a person of interest'. But more on that later.

As I mentioned in the above link, Alharbi hails from the Asir province near Yemen, a part of the Kingdom where Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)is not exactly unpopular.So do his two roommates that lived with him in an apartment in Revere, a Boston suburb. One of those roommates my sources tell me is still being sought by the FBI and another is in custody over what are described as 'visa problems'.

You'll remember that after Alharbi was detained by the FBI, his apartment was searched and a number of bags of evidence removed.

But wait, there's more.

Alharbi has quite an interesting family background. As former terrorist Walid Shoebat reveals, our friend Alharbi has no less than six family members openly affiliated with al-Qaeda, plus another 5 who have served time at Guantamano. And in fact his entire clan has a significant jihadist orientation.

By this time, your jaw is probably dropping and you're wondering 'how did someone with this background get a visa to come to America'? Walk with me awhile.

While Alharbi was in custody and was declared a suspect, our Secretary of State had a routine press conference and photo op scheduled with the Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal. Usually these sort of things are public. But in this case, Secretary Kerry and Prince Saud al-Faisal abruptly canceled the presser and held a secret, behind closed doors meeting.

Shortly afterwards, it was announced that Alharbi was no longer a suspect and was simply a person of interest..in less than 24 hours since he was picked up.

And today, Alharbi, who supposedly had nothing to do with the bombing is going to be speedily deported as - wait for it - 'a national security risk'. ...

[...] If Saudis were involved in the Boston Marathon bombing, it's a rather nasty mutual problem.

Three months ago, the Obama administration ended post-9/11 restrictions on Saudis entering the US and put them on the 'trusted traveler list', which is how Alharbi and a lot of other Saudis with questionable backgrounds got in - not that there was ever all that much of a restriction on visas from young men from the Kingdom or other Arab countries anyway.

So if a Saudi national or nationals were to be linked with the Boston Bombing, it would point yet another finger at President Obama and his team's less than stellar performance when it comes to foreign policy and national security. One can only live off someone else's ordering the assassination of Osama bin-Laden so for so long, especially with the rest of the Middle East unraveling. ...

The Saudi “person of interest” suspected of being involved in the Boston Marathon bombings is being deported from the United States next week on “national security grounds,” according to a terrorism expert, who notes that the move is “very unusual,” especially given an unscheduled meeting yesterday between President Obama and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal.

The attempt to cover up a possible Saudi connection to the Boston attack could explain why authorities are scrambling to get their official narrative straight after photos emerged yesterday on the Internet showing numerous suspects carrying large backpacks, some of them middle eastern in appearance and two of the individuals having been almost certainly identified as employees of private military/security firm Craft International.

According to terrorism expert Steve Emerson, 20-year-old Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national first suspected of being involved in Monday’s twin bomb attack, is being hastily deported. Alharbi was put under armed guard in hospital after the bombing, was visited by Saudi diplomat Azzam bin Abdel Karim, and later had his apartment raided by federal and state law enforcement agents.

“I just learned from my own sources that he is now going to be deported on national security grounds next Tuesday, which is very unusual,” Emerson told Fox News last night.

“That’s very interesting because this is the way things are done with Saudi Arabia. You don’t arrest their citizens. You deport them, because they don’t want them to be embarrassed and that’s the way we appease them,” Emerson told host Sean Hannity.  [snip]

A scheduled 10 a.m. photo op between John Kerry and the Saudi Foreign Minister was also abruptly cancelled on Tuesday morning because Kerry was tired from his busy schedule, an explanation that journalists refused to swallow, with the Associated Press’ Matt Lee telling spokesman Patrick Ventrell, “I find it hard to believe that you expect us to believe that that’s the real reason for this.”

As World Net Daily’s Joe Kovacs documents, “Saudi student Alharbi shares the same last name as a major Saudi clan that includes scores of al-Qaida operatives.”

The Alharbi clan has long been active in al-Qaida. Khaled bin Ouda bin Mohammed al-Harbi, for example, is a Saudi national who joined Osama bin Laden’s mujahadeen group in the 1980s. He reportedly became an al-Qaida member in the mid-1990s. He turned himself in to Saudi authorities in 2004 as part of an amnesty deal.

The BBC reported Khaled Alharbi was married to the daughter of al-Qaida’s number two, Ayman al-Zawahri. He reportedly appeared with bin Laden in a video praising the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Another top al-Qaida operative is Adel Radi Saqr al-Wahabi al-Harbi, a Saudi national identified by the State Department as “a key member of an al-Qaida network operating in Iran.”

Given the fact that the Obama administration has sent more than half a billion dollars and the CIA is shipping weapons to FSA rebels in Syria who pledged allegiance to and are led by Al-Qaeda militants, the notion that one of these militants would carry out an attack on U.S. soil would be extremely damaging to the White House.

Radio host Michael Savage floated the theory yesterday that the Boston police were told to cancel the press conference by the Obama administration and the FBI, because the Saudi Foreign Minister demanded that the suspect be allowed to leave the country.

As Infowars first highlighted yesterday and as Anthony Gucciardi subsequently confirmed, two of the suspicious individuals identified on the scene of the Boston bombings wearing identical clothing and large black backpacks (one white, one darker skinned) are likely to be employees of Craft International, a Blackwater-style private military/security firm.

Given that the bombs used in the attack were housed in black backpacks, remnants of which were found yards from the explosion, why are private security firm employees carrying black backpacks and talking on cellphones pictured within 30 feet of the blast just moments after it occurred?

The men are certainly not marathon runners and they are not involved in rescue efforts. Who are these men? Did their identities being revealed yesterday cause the FBI to cancel its planned press conference? Were the men involved in the bomb drills before the actual bombings that were reported by eyewitnesses?

Should it emerge that the Obama administration is shielding accomplices in the Boston bombings for political reasons, the scandal would dwarf the Benghazi attacks and inevitably lead to impeachment proceedings.

• On Sean Hannity’s Fox News program Wednesday night, terror expert Steve Emerson cited sources saying Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national who was briefly named a “person of interest” in the Boston Marathon bombings, is being deported on Tuesday.
• Thursday morning, Glenn Beck revealed on radio that TheBlaze was informed by sources that the Saudi national’s visa had been revoked and he was, in fact, going to be deported on “security and related grounds.”
• Among other things, sources told TheBlaze that the Saudi national had ties to a well-connected Saudi family and that his deportation was set to be framed as a “voluntary” departure to be with his family.
• A file, called an “event,” was started on him three days ago.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had a fiery exchange with Rep. Jeff Duncan during a House hearing Thursday morning over reports that Al Alharbi is being considered for deportation.

Napolitano refused to entertain a question regarding if it would be “negligence” to deport someone who just days ago was a person of interest.

“I’m not going to answer that question,” she shot back after being pressed by Duncan and denying any knowledge of such a plan. “That question is so full with misstatements and misapprehensions that it is not worthy of an answer.”

As of this time, 1556 ET, 2 Explosions, with 2 additional controlled demolitions, have occurred at the Boston Marathon, and 1 at the JFK Library, as of this moment, confirmed 2 dead and 23 wounded, Doctors on the scene concur that the injuries as quite similar to these in overseas war zones, Iraq and Israel.

 

Clearly, data will change as all info does from the start to the end of an incident.

 

This is also the Birth day of the Founding leader of North Korea, Connection? The truth will come out sooner or later, where is the President and when will He claim it is not a terror incident? When will the Right (Republicans/Conservatives/TEA Party/Vets/2A Supporters) be blamed?

DHS to give “trusted traveler” status to Saudi airline passengers

The Investigative Project on Terrorism has the report. 

Saudi Arabia, the nation which produced 15 of the 19 hijackers in the 9/11 attacks, is about to become one of a handful of countries whose travelers can bypass normal passport controls at major U.S. airports.  Sources tell the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) that this will mark the first time that the Saudi government will have a direct role in vetting who is eligible for getting fast-tracked for entry into the United States.

An agreement to accept Saudi Arabian applicants into the Global Entry trusted traveler program drew little notice when it was announced in January. Now, some officials question why the country merits such a benefit – which is similar to a theme park "fast pass" to avoid long lines – when other allies like Germany and France are not yet included. A program for Israeli travelers was reached last May but has not been implemented.  (continue at IPT)

Islamic Cleric Rapes, Tortures And Kills 5 Year Old Daughter, Receives No Jail, Just A Fine

In Saudi Arabia, an Islamic cleric who admits to raping, torturing and killing his daughter received a fine but no jail time for his heinous crime. Saudi media reports that the father paid 200,000 riyals ($50,000 US) in “blood money” for his crime, but will not be required to serve any time in prison. [snip]

Fayhan al-Ghamdi, the victims father and a popular Islamic preacher who has made numerous television appearances promoting Islam, confessed to the heinous crime. Ghamdi told Saudi officials he used cables and a cane on his five-year-old daughter, leaving her with multiple injuries, including a crushed skull, broken ribs and left arm, extensive bruising and burns. In addition, one of Lama’s fingernails had been torn off. Hospital staff reports the child’s rectum had been torn open and the abuser had attempted to burn it closed.

Reports indicate the father had doubted his five-year old daughter’s virginity

Lama al-Ghamdi died last October. The amount her father was fined for the brutal rape, torture and murder, would have been doubled if Lama had been male. In Saudi Arabia, Islamic law is interpreted to be that a father cannot be executed for murdering his children, nor can husbands be executed for murdering their wives.

Sergeant in Saudi Arabia's air force raped boy in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A sergeant in Saudi Arabia's air force was jailed in Las Vegas on charges that he pulled a young boy into a hotel room and sexually assaulted him the morning of Sin City's big New Year's Eve fireworks extravaganza.

Mazen Alotaibi, 23, faces charges including kidnapping, sexual assault with a minor and felony coercion that could get him decades in state prison, according to police and charging documents obtained Friday.

The boy, who is younger than 14, told police the man forced him into a room at the Circus Circus hotel on the Las Vegas Strip and raped him. Police arrested Alotaibi after being called to the hotel before 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 31.

"There was a kidnapping and sexual assault with force," Las Vegas police Lt. Dan McGrath said. "The victim said he was forced into the room and sexually assaulted. We have a strong case based on the evidence."

The boy, who lives out of state, was staying at the hotel with his family, McGrath said. He was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and evidence collection and released later to family members. His name was not made public.  (continue at USA Today)

The Saudi rapist claimed to be stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland near San Antonio, Texas, however ...

Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland spokesman Brent Boller told The Associated Press that records showed Alotaibi is currently stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Boller said he could not immediately verify if Alotaibi had been at Lackland, but noted that international military students attend a Defense Language Institute English Language Center on the base to improve their English-language skills.

Our military sources add that the French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle carrying a complement of marines is deployed in the Mediterranean, having joined the USS Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group and at least five British warships which are also carrying a large marine force.
